I have been here to pick up coffee every day while I am staying in Boston. Their coffee is great I became fan of macchiato. Their macchiato is I just ordered at 10:00am for two sandwiches ready for 12:45pm and paid in advance. I came back there at 12:43pm. The sandwiches came out from oven at 12:44pm and handed to me at 12:45pm. It is so warm and wonderful. Yes there are other customers there. This review is specially for the 2 girls who works behind the counter. They were very professional, calm and gave us a great customer service. The place was busy and it is located in a great place. The pastries are fantastic and breakfast sandwiches are very delicious. I was busking with my husband and suddenly we found this place, it was a great surprise. Very happy he found this place for us. Great little shop attached to the Battery Wharf hotel on the North End. (Awesome hotel btw). Indoor/outdoor seating available. Espresso drinks are great, basic options with a couple seasonal offerings. Offers a few sandwiches, and bakery treats. Great stop if you're walking along the wharf and need a pick-me-up. A good pit stop after a walk around the North End. Lots of seating both inside and outside. Service here is very pleasant, and the interior is really modern and clean. Plenty of natural light which I always appreciate as a young person living in an overpriced Boston apartment with barely any (no shade). Got an almond milk latte. It was good, but kinda pricey for $5-6ish, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also didn't feel super excited about the food options (the pastry case seemed a little sparse). But I also came on a Monday afternoon of Memorial Day. I also came here based on what I heard about the affogato, but it wasn't on the menu on that day. Overall though, not a bad option if you're in the North End and want to get away from the crowded coffee shops on Hanover. read more

The staff do not acknowledge you upon entry or even timely when you are at the register to order. I was there several refs this week and each time it was the same (sad). Today one if the staff was on her cell phone doing whatever while a customer stood at the register to order, and then walked to register still using phone and asking customer what she wanted, so tacky and impersonal. Lastly, the coffee is ok and the food is meh... but it is convenient for hotels in this area. Hopefully management sees this and fixes poor service. read more

I was delighted to find this new Cafe Amalfi location. They serve Italian illy coffee which I find delicious. Inside is a modern European design of white and crisp, clean lines. Pastries, snacks, bottled beverages, along with typical hot and cold espresso drinks. They also have iced coffee and cold brew for the warm days. Service was friendly and efficient. Several tables inside and a few outside as well. I believe they had WIFI available, although I did not utilize it. There is also a single restroom. read more

Solid but quite pricey. The avocado toast is not toast. It is avocado bread. Tasty avocado bread, but definitely named wrong.

Delicious sandwiches (cheddar egg biscuit is my favorite), salads and pastries. The Barrington coffees are rich and yummy. I never miss Cafe Amalfi when I'm in Boston. read more

We stayed at the Battery Wharf hotel and decided to try this charming looking cafe for breakfast. Once and done. Good point? Pastry. If you like sweet pastry then this place is fine. The staff was borderline rude. Unhelpful to new-comers and just no warm greeting of any kind. The breakfast sandwiches were partially pre-made, much to my surprise, sitting unappetizingly in a glass case. They were just stacked upon one another. We didn't have time to go elsewhere at this point. Plus I was looking forward to good coffee. Total disappointment. The coffee wasn't even a little bit strong. Colored hot water with creamer. And the breakfast sandwiches? Terrible. My husband's re-heated bread was so dry he was crumbling it to the sparrows flitting around our table outdoors. And mine was just simply unappetizing. I had, however, ordered a sweet croissant as well. That was quite delicious. But overall, we'd have been better served and fed at a fast food choice. Ugh. read more

I liked the honey bee lavender latte I got as it was warm and calming- which is perfect to calm the nerves but also give a lil energy boost. Ive been to this place twice. Once apx. 6 mo. ago and again today. Ordered the same things and had the same exact experience both times....I ordered a simple large regular coffee and a plain bagel with cream cheese. BOTH times same result so its not a fluke thing. My bagel was hard as a ROCK! not even exaggerating. And the coffee was repulsive, it was bitter and tasted foul to the point of no fixing it up...I poured it out both times. Since this place was close to our hotel, we stopped in for breakfast. They really only have pastries to eat, and some ready made yogurt parfaits, and other little things but no egg sandwiches, oatmeal etc.... The coffee was really good but the 5 star rating was earned because they really went the extra mile. I wanted something fresh and good for me and their ready made yogurts had fruit compote in it and granola. The nice young lady made me one custom with fresh berries, granola on the side a a small side of honey to drizzle on top. It was delicious! I really appreciated it after 3 days of eating my way through Boston, I couldn't eat another pastry. Cute decor and not super crowded. read more

My Golden Retriever, Maggi, and I, walk in the North End regularly. During the lock down time, Café Amalfi has become an institution on our route. She enjoys dog treats and water and I enjoy their excellent cold brew with a healthy treat. There is a positive energy and the oat meal biscuits and avocado toast are the best! A welcoming respite, in an area sorely lacking of welcoming respites. I didn't try any of the coffee, or food, but they had a good selection for a small cafe, and everything looked super fresh: the fruit cup, freshly squeezed juices, protein bars etc. . . We stopped on a hot and sunny afternoon when we were very thirsty and had run out of water. They had just sold out of water bottles, but they had sparkling water. They have a clean and air conditioned space, a clean and lovely bathroom, and sidewalk seating with umbrellas. One in our party said, "Drinking this Pelligrino under the umbrella on the sidewalk was one of the best parts of my afternoon." I agree, but if they served an Aperol spritz I would have been in heaven. read more

Lucky enough to work right across the street from this spot! Recently got a few updates and this place has improved ten fold. The coffee is like super caffeine and the staff is very friendly and always remember us. They have all the classics all the time and are always surprise & delighting us with pastry or drink specials by the day! Stopped in here with a few friends after work & had an awesome experience. The atmosphere is very fun and the staff were very welcoming and kind. As an Italian I'm picky about my gelato & I must say that this is some of the best gelato I've had in the area! This is a great place to come relax with friends or even study. If you are in the area with kids they have a ton of kid friendly snacks available as well. I can't wait to come back and try some more food once they expand their menu. This is not your typical coffee shop! We were lucky to stop in when they were offering a special rose water lemonade. It was so refreshing! Aside from the delicious drinks, another standout was how beautifully decorated it was. It is bright and inviting and even has the curated pieces on display for sale if you want to walk away with some unique home decor. Great coffee. To go food overpriced, came premade, and was briefly heated up. Polite and helpful staff, but it was not worth the wait.

Really nice setting, tried it several times, hot coffee is served cool, like you could drink it one sip, which defeats the purpose of "hot" coffee, but this is an easy fix, just fire it up! Need to calm down on high price, its not a personal problem, but when Starbucks down the road is cheaper and they have more choices of food, prices need to remain competitive. Rest assured, environment, furniture, setting, ambience and the location is quite perfect. The thing that grossed me out the most, which imposed me to give 1 start, but considering the above, I'm giving 2 stars, is that they have dog bowls outside in the sitting area...Really? for crying out loud, are we serving humans or dogs? Pick one and remain consistent. Gross. read more
