Having a good service background, my husband and I are always understanding when a place is training staff - everyone starts somewhere. But what makes a difference is that everyone still had a smile on their face no matter how overwhelmed they may have felt! We've never received anything BUT great service. The food is delicious and came out fairly quickly considering it was a busy Saturday. We talked with the owner who's owned the place for the last 8 years and they try hard to preserve the restaurant. He shared that the bar top stools were the original nickel stools, they had the original coffee machines and the original grill/stovetop. Their goal is to make updates to the restaurant while still keeping some of the history, which I feel is really special.

Alex on the other hand is the reason for this review. We ordered one coffee black and the other with cream on the side. When I opened the cup and saw how much room was left in the cup I assumed that was the one with the room for cream. When my partner opened her cup there was cream in hers so she went back up to see if she could get a black one like she ordered. He was very rude saying he didn't take the order and was just trying to see what the problem was and I'll remake it angrily. When my partner thanked him as he handed her the new cup he gave her a dirty look and just turned around and walked away. I'm not really a fan, except of the store in Fort Lauderdale's downtown and financial area at Broward Blvd. and Federal Highway. It wasn't as high as some airport's prices, but definitely higher than what I recall Epstein Brothers on terra ferma charging. The small sandwich was served warm, its ingredients were good, and a bottle of orange juice is a bottle of orange juice. The store wasn't particularly crowded at mid-day, so I was attended to quickly. The service was forgettable, so that means there were no issues. The store is clean and gets a lot of borrowed illumination from the well-lit concourse. The small meal did what it needed to do and because the chain is no longer featuring those delicious sun-dried tomato bagels, it's 3 stars.
