Edit: Be warned about using your credit card here, the bartender messed up on my bill, told me that they will charge my card back the right amount, but never did. I ended up paying for seven beers instead of one. Now I have to go through the hassle of filing a dispute with capitolone. Met some incompetent servers before, but never a dishonest and stealing bartender. After all I've heard about this place in the past few years, I expected a lot more. The place is really clean, modern, and has a huge big screen tv for sports, which is always a plus. But the bartenders here are terrible, with a touch (large amount) of attitude. I was having a really good night until I had the unfortunate experience of ordering a drink here. I may come by here again sometime if it's with a large group at a table, but probably will never come here to sit at the bar. Other than the terrible experience trying to order a drink, the people you meet here are great, friendly, and very easy going. Came for a drink, stayed for happy hour. Fantastic happy hour menu, it was really hard for me to decide, I went with the chicken wings in the garlic soy sauce. A bit too salty, a side of rice would've been smart. It was 10 wings for 6 dollars. Yay! Most Awesome Happy Hour Ever. Cafe Bleu has awesome korean fusion dishes at a bargain price during their happy hour and game days. I love coming here with friends to watch a NBA/NFL game. They also have 20-30 dollar combos with food and a bottle of soju or 2 cocktails. Comfortable chairs and an overall chill environment. Only downside are the bums chillen out front. read more

Came here at 7pm on a Friday night. They had a great list of happy hour specials. We ordered the garlic fries, which were Delicious!! The beef sliders were definitely larger than we expected and really mouthwatering. We were pretty full by the time the kimchi pasta came out. This was definitely good to try and was creamier than I expected. Even though it was pretty empty when we were there it took a while for the food to come out but was definitely worth the wait because it tasted so good. I sometimes like to visit a bar where I can relax and drink to unwind. Bleu has always been a good spot for me. The servers are very welcoming and always attentive of the customers' needs. I also love their happy hour pricing for a small bottle of whiskey and food. They don't charge you an arm and a leg like other places. Nor do the bartenders here try to "upsell" you. Pretty cool happy hour deals. The Kimchee Pasta (I know it sounds strange but its really good) Kogi Tacos, Chicken Wings, and Mini Sliders are definitely worth nibbling on if you are hungry. My personal fav- Garlic fries but please avoid them if you are planning to kiss someone later. First thoughts: BOMB HAPPY HOUR! Wow, I think of all the happy hour places I've ever hit up in Ktown (Cafe Sanjang, Toebang), Cafe Bleu is my favorite! Their happy hour prices ($5 and $6) isn't want gets me so excited but it's the sheer variety and volume of their happy hour menu. They must have had about 20 different items on their menu ranging from the typical (garlic french fries, sweet potato fries, calamari, etc.) to the standard Korean food (dukbokki, kimchi fried rice, etc.) Parking is in the same shitty lot as SnowLA so I really suggest finding metered street parking a few blocks away and walking over. When we walked into Cafe Bleu, I was a bit taken aback by the lack of lighting. Also, for a Tuesday night, it was not as poppin' as I would have liked. There were maybe 2 other tables occupied and a handful of people at the bar. At this point, I was thinking, "Uh oh." BUT, when I sat down, I saw the happy hour sign card on our table for 10 wings (original, sriracha & buffalo) for $5! What a steal! I perked up even more when I saw the amazing happy hour menu and prices! Our group of 5 quickly decided to order the dukbokki ($5), nachos ($5), calamari ($5), garlic fries ($5), 10 sriracha wings ($10) and the seared beef with ponzu dipping sauce ($6). Interestingly enough, our server didn't write anything down and repeated our orders back to us once. We were skeptical he would remember everything but he did, with the exception of the garlic fries. Still, I was impressed we I decided to let that one slip-up go. The highlights: -Garlic fries are VERY garlicky and there are many fried-pieces of garlic dispersed onto and into the fries. I really enjoyed these crunchy fries. -I also enjoyed the calamari and but disliked the dipping sauce. I think it may have been ponzu but I feel the sauce should be cream-based. -The dukbokki was not the best I've had in ktown BUT the size of it was astounding! For only $5, the size of the plate would have been $10 in other ktown restaurants! I was thoroughly impressed and there were ample pieces of rice cake and kimchi. No fish cakes though. The "meh": -I would skip the wings. Even though they're a good deal, they're not really wings in the traditional sense. They are deep fried but not tossed in the sauce so we ended up with a bowl of sriracha dipping sauce on the side. Odd. -The nachos were also just ok. I like nachos with real cheese and the cheese on these nachos looked like velveeeta. I did like that they loaded the nachos with jalopenos, sour cream, tomatoes and onions. Also, the portion was huge! Bottom line: Cafe Bleu gets two thumbs up from me for happy hour because of their good prices and variety of food options. I gotta come back right? At least to sample the other 15 items I didn't get to try this time around. read more

I agree with the other yelpers that this place is a little sad. But it gave us what we were looking for - cocktails and ESPN (kidding). This place reminds me of VIP in San Jose where it's a Korean bar now concentrating on cocktail drinks to be more Americanized. So my boyfriend told me last week that he wanted to party in K-Town. SWEET! I went to yelp to find out where are some cool places to go and Cafe Bleu was at the top of my list. I wanted to go somewhere where there would be no drama, good drinks and NO booking LOL! We've noticed this place for quite some time because we usually eat next door and see people going in and out. So we finally gave it a shot and here is my review: Upon stepping in, the vibe is very chill. There's lots of booths, a long bar with ample seating and even a back sitting area (which I didn't check out, but next time for sure). The drinks were STRONG! My BF had to give me his Adios so at one point, I was drinking an Adios AND a Margarita WHOA! The bartenders/ staff were very nice and the pretty lady serving us was a gem! I don't know her name, but she was awesome! :) We had the quesadillas...I think they were chicken, but I'm not too sure at that point (remember...I was drinking an Adios AND a Margarita LOL). Next time, we'll try more food without being so intoxicated LOL! All in all, this is a great place to pre-booze before you hit somewhere else. It wasn't crowded, but you could tell that groups of people were stopping in for a drink before going somewhere else for say, dancing (which we did afterward) or coming in for a last drink after dancing/ clubbing. Also, I could tell that this is a good place to watch games. FYI: I think my boyfriend said he spent $100 including tip and that was for 2 red bull and vodkas, a margarita, an adios, a lemon drop martini and a chicken? quesadilla. So worth it! I think this place is pretty cool for a chill hang out. Parking is fcking insane though. Their valet gets effing overloaded to the point where you're just seriously "SOL" if you come "late" but it's already packed by like 8pm ish. It's a super small parking lot that has a 7-11. OMG I swear I was praying not to get shot or mugged by some homeless person loitering. The bar itself if you're into sports they had the MLB division games going on there and they have a large projector screen in the middle of this bar. The staff was actually and pretty attentive given how busy this place gets. My friend reserved three "tables" or like six couches out of the 16 that were there for her husband's surprise birthday. They were good about holding onto the cake asked them to store. We ran out of plastic forks though. The 'reserved' side I guess has like six coffee tables but two couches per so they're facing each other. It was a good spot to keep everyone consolidated for the most part. Oh they have happy hour that ends at 9pm. I would say they were pretty good about letting us get in a order five minutes before happy hour ended. My friend and I split one order of spicy shrimp tacos and sliders. I guess the sliders tasted like a burger you cooked up in your back yard. Pretty standard. Safe bet. Comes with two and tons of onions. Dude, the shrimp tacos had onions raining down on it. It was very saucy with spice. It was covered in like five shrimp pieces and lots of cilantro and onion. Bring a lot of mints if you eat this. Drinks were made decently as you expect from any bar. Pricey though. $10 or $14. I think the $14 is steep and approaching DTLA craft drink prices. Anyway, we walked in and it's pretty much a ton of guys in there with a few women here and there and they were all SMOKING! INDOORS! I asked the bartender what's up with that since I thought there was a law against smoking inside bars. She said there is but it's a Korean bar and Koreans love to smoke! haha. I'll take that answer! Parking lot is tiny and chaotic on busy days (ie weekends). Valet parking is $5. If you want to save yourself some heartache, just park in the Zion Market parking lot across the street. That place is *normally (depending on the hour) free until pretty late. But if you're planning on drinking until 2AM, look for some street parking two blocks away. Food and anju are overpriced and mediocre. But what did you expect? This isn't a restaurant. It's bar/lounge. Get their drinks. Soju and beer are overpriced, but expected given the fact that it's a K-town bar. Ambience is good. There's a separate room area where you can reserve to host large parties. The main area has big screen TVs that show the main sports games. read more

2.5 stars. Came here late Saturday night to just chill and hang out with friends. It's your typical korean drinking place with a full bar and lots of tables around for eating and drinking. Pretty dimly lit with the music bumping really loud. Seems to be pretty popular since there was a good amount of people there. All I gotta say is overpriced. We ordered two types of chicken wings ($12.95 each plate) and 2 orders of garlic fries ($7.95). Not bad but I can pretty much go anywhere else and get the same kind of food for way cheaper. I know everybody seems to rave about the garlic fries, but honestly, for $8/plate, they were ehhh. They were nice and hot, but that's about it. The wings were just okay too. Not bad, but not memorable. Okay okay....I know this place seems to be more about drinking and not so much eating, especially late at night, and we did order some flavored soju (a large was $24.99). We got the peach and pineapple (they ran out of yogurt!) and honestly, both tasted like there was no alcohol at all. "Watered" down in my opinion. Normally flavored soju creeps up on me, but after a lot of shots, I felt nothing. Maybe my tolerance has gone up but other ppl in my group said the same thing. Not impressed. Parking is tough just like any other place in LA. Valet or structure or cross your fingers for street parking. I probably won't go back anytime soon, but I can see why it's popular. +1 star for good vibe, +1 for no smoking inside, +0.5 for decent music. Met up with a friend while we were visiting LA here - how can you not hang out in Ktown when visiting LA? It was okay - kind of reminded me of my days back in NYC hanging out in the soju bars in Ktown there. Lots of black leather, big groups of Asian kids hanging out smoking outside, big screen tvs. Bartender/waitress - service was nice and friendly to both myself (female) and the guys. Not too bad. This place has a lot of potential. Came here after another night of failure of trying to go to Gaam (which they said was almost over an hour wait). Came here and got seated right away. The tables and sofas were definitely more comfortable than sitting at a crowded table. Great place to kick back and chill with friends without the hassle and aggravation of an overcrowded place. Came here with a group of friends because they insisted i triy the famous kimchi pasta. It was ok. The kimchi flavor was really subtle, and it tasted more like a seafood alfredo pasta. The garlic fries were really good though. My friends scraped all the kimchi pasta sauce with the fries haha. The chicken tacos were decent. We ordered hot wings thinking it was going to be fried chicken but it was korean style hot wings with all the sauce on it. But it was still good and really spicy. This place is more of a bar so it was really dark. But a good place to go if you're in ktown and want to eat dinner and grab a drink with your friends. read more

It has a fully stocked bar, unlike many Korean bars which only serve beer and soju. Korea music videos are playing on large screens. Omurice: A lot of steak in this! Yay! Otherwise, a standard, good omurice~ Garlic Fries: A good amount for this order, and the chopped garlic topped the fries, but a good amount falls to the bottom of the middle, so scoop those up too. Nice decor with comfy sofas, but I've never been very impressed with the food. They have occasional live music which is a nice change of pace for ktown bars. Maybe I'm just being a snooty germaphobe, but I wish they would get rid of the pillows on the sofas because I feel like they must be crawling with germs from all the bar-goers that come through this place. Went here recently on a Saturday and it was dead. Not only was it dead, but the among the few folks who were there it was a dude ranch. Among those dudes several were wearing cargo shorts and tank tops. Now I can understand, you don't always want to fight the crowd to get a drink, or rub up next to someone wearing too much cologne. But you go out at least to get a little ambiance. Otherwise, especially for a bar, it's easy enough to buy a bottle of jack and a 6-pack and drink with your pals at home. read more

This was a nice little find in my new neighborhood, and I must say I like the atmosphere. The staff is friendly, when you can get their attention. My advice is to staff the bar with three bartenders on a busy night. Two is not enough, especially if they don't make it to the far end of the bar closest to the door.
