I was in for a quick dinner while catching a NBA game and I was pleasantly surprised by this Kimchi Pasta that I tried. it sounds horrible but I finished everything even though I do not like cream pasta. this Kimchi with cream pasta takes away of any too rich greasy taste of it. also, I had happy hour $5 glass of Cabernet, cheap but not so good, but there is no complaining for $5 Cabernet. Went here recently on a Saturday and it was dead. Not only was it dead, but the among the few folks who were there it was a dude ranch. Among those dudes several were wearing cargo shorts and tank tops. Now I can understand, you don't always want to fight the crowd to get a drink, or rub up next to someone wearing too much cologne. But you go out at least to get a little ambiance. Otherwise, especially for a bar, it's easy enough to buy a bottle of jack and a 6-pack and drink with your pals at home. read more

This was a nice little find in my new neighborhood, and I must say I like the atmosphere. The staff is friendly, when you can get their attention. My advice is to staff the bar with three bartenders on a busy night. Two is not enough, especially if they don't make it to the far end of the bar closest to the door. They would've got five stars had the service not been somewhat hit or miss. Jay is a great bartender, be sure to order from him, he keeps an eye on you. read more

When you go to cafe Bleu you'll be faced with many faces and many of them are very pretty to take your order but ask for the girl by name of Cathy. As pretty as she is (as she is) she makes a conscious effort to make it right to the customers and gives them the due diligence which as a customer you appreciate. Overall the vibe is upscale but not bougie with no pretentiousness with someone who just stumbles upon in the wild "ktown." highly recommended! read more

I really like this place cause it has two of the most important things that a bar needs in my opinion, and it is a bar so don't complain about the food, but the two great things are friendly service and cheap drinks. A really nice chilled out place. Went there with a friend, and winded up hanging out for a few hours. Solid selection of drinks, decent food (mostly appetizer type), nice & comfortable decor, and really digged the sofa type seating arrangements. The big screen projection TV was an excellent touch to the place, it was cool to relax on the sofa's, sip on a drink, & watch some tv. The waitress were friendly, but it did seem understaffed. Clean place with good size HD TVs. 70% koreans with some mix crowds. Food is good with variety. Parking is easy in the parking lot for valet $2. No smoking inside. The outside front is packed with smokers and spitters. My girls complain of stepping into spit. They should hire POWER washers for the front sidewalks like other bars, then this place would be first class. read more

I really wanted to like this place... During one of my visits to Los Angeles, my group was deciding where to go. We decided on Cafe Bleu to meet another friend who was also eating here. We opted to get bottle service since there were so many of us. We asked for a pitcher of water and soda, but the bartender who assisted us told us they were out of soda... weird for bar but okay, whatever. My friend asked for a pitcher of pineapple juice instead and they ended up charging us for the pitcher which completely baffled me because we spent over $200 for alcohol and food and you can't even comp us a bottle of pineapple back because you guys are out of soda? At least tell us that pineapple juice is additional beforehand. The spot was pretty empty, about two handfuls of patrons when we were there but it was very hard to flag her down and get her attention. That aside, we came here also because my friend raved about their tacos which was actually very delicious but the hospitality was beyond horrible. read more

Gaam is my K-Town spot, but sometimes you need to branch out a little bit...to across the street. Cafe Bleu is in corner of the same plaza as Albanae, our late-night eats place, but don't be deceived by the strip mall exterior. Inside, it's a dark, intimate Korean bar that serves soju, beer, and liquor and has an extensive food menu. I think what I liked the most about Bleu was that you can make it whatever you want it to be. We strolled in with about 15 people, and immediately, they let us rearrange the tables and charges to accommodate us all. But we saw groups of people sitting at the smaller tables and others sitting at the bar, so if you feel like having a group outing, you can have it, and when you just want to catch up with someone, you can have that too. Waiters were very attentive and friendly to our mostly non-Korean group. read more

My cousins and I went there last night before heading to a spa. We almost didn't want to leave. Jenny the bartender was amazing from the moment we walked in which was great because honestly some Korean spots aren't that welcoming if you aren't Korean. She recommended great food both traditional and vegetarian. Struck up awesome conversation and somehow managed to get us talking with everyone else at the bar. not tooo shabby! well literally a little bit so but i really liked the atmosphere- no snobby -egotisical-chauvinist behavior was in sight yesterday night! came here for my girls birthday. pulled into the lot worried i couldnt find parking but valet was a mere $2 and they parked the car right out front-no hassle/wait for later. walk in and theres a general area and we had the area sort of blocked off to the side of the bar. its nice because music isnt blasting so you can have an actual conversation with someone and its super relaxed. food was decent (from what i heard/could see) the freaking calamari or teegeehm smelled so delicious it took all my glutenfree might to stop my hand from grabbing one and popping it in my mouth. no smoking indoors whewww so we took many trips outdoors but not a hassle at all! if i could eat korean bar food galore and i were to venture to ktown more id so be a regular. read more

I normally only write reviews after i've tried a place at least 3 times, but this place was ridiculous! DON'T COME HERE TO WATCH THE WORLD CUP. We almost missed the game because of this place. My group had a reservation for 10 at 12 noon (start time for the Korea v. Algeria game). Two of us walked in around 11:35 just to see what the ambiance was like. It was nice: big screen, lots of fans. We checked in and find out that we had to buy a bottle. (WHAT? that's something you tell a customer when they ask about table reservations.) Since we had 20 minutes left before our reservation time, we told the manager that we needed a few minutes to make sure our group was okay with that. We come back around 11:45 and wait about 5 minutes until the manager can help us. That's when he tells us he doesn't have a table for us. (Second WTF?) Since the staff overbooked, he offers us 4 chairs at the bar and says he'll bring 6 more to accommodate our group of 10. (Fire hazard?) He says we still need to buy a bottle though! That's not even the worst part. During the whole conversation, he was arrogant and even went to the point of telling us he could sell these seats easily. Yes, we know that you may not need us to fill your bar during a Korean World Cup game in Koreatown, but that's what our reservations were for. Overall, the manager was unprofessional- did not try to right a wrong that he just blamed his staff for. Meanwhile, the game was starting and we almost missed it. Where are we going to find a last minute place to watch the game in Koreatown at gametime?? But luckily, Touhmi, which is across the street could accommodate our group. They have nice big booths, a huge screen and some smaller TVs, a variety of food, alcohol, better lighting, good crowd. Our group had so much fun and didn't regret not taking those 4 pitiful bar seats. read more

A casual place to hang out, have a relaxing drink, and snack on some awesome Korean and fusion food. Been here numerous times and the drinks, food, and service have been consistently great. The atmostphere is modern but not too trendy. A couple of the bartenders are quite cute. I think this is the best bar in K-Town. It's been around a long time, and I think the owner is always there to make sure that the quality stays consistent. Great spot. Went here with a large group a few weeks ago and service was awesome! I fell in love with Soju here. Lol. Valet parking is cheap, like four bucks. I really liked this place until I got my bill and saw that I had been charged $3 for every refill of soda water that the bartender offered me (I didn't ask for any). Even if management forces them to charge...she needs to let customers know that they charge for refills like that. Especially since she was offering me refills before I was even done.
