I mostly get their milk-tea boba and because I'm a fan of coconuts, I tried their coconut slush(?) with boba, just too sweet- but any juice here are pretty darn sweet- what can I say- but that's besides the point- their blends are just awesome! Their yogurt is good - not much different from Pinkberry which is interesting across the street from this place. Boba Time has some solid milk tea. It has been my observation that koreatown/LA boba has been falling. Boba Time in Rowland Heights continues to serve the milkiest and sweetest Milk Tea. I will constantly go out of my way to get some boba. The one problem I have with this place is the service. They are very inconsistent. Some days they wont have tapioca balls. I am a boba freak, i jokingly call myself a connoisseur. This place makes some of the best boba i have ever had, and they do it consistently. The boba is nice and firm, yet squishy. it had been soaked for a good amount of time, and is just awesome. Also, every single flavor i have had tasted amazing. my favorites are the taro slush and the peach kiwi smoothie, but I've had over 15 different drinks off their menu and ALL of them were great. It doesn't have the wide selection like half and half, but their boba is on point. The ONLY reason i did not give them a full 5 stars is the service. I usually get really good service, but there has been a couple times where the service was appalling. After ordering 4 drinks, i had asked that 1 without boba, but there was a mistake and it had boba in it. I went in to ask if they could remake the drink and i was told that they were very busy and that i would have to wait till they got through all the people ahead of me which could take 15 minutes. I don't need to go into why that's just ridiculous. After being a loyal and longtime customer, i was not happy. The other incident was silly as well. When you order a drink here, they bring the drink to you if you are sitting down. Once again my party of 4 was wondering where our drinks were, and after waiting awhile longer than I'm used to, i went inside to inquire about the drinks and i found them sitting on the counter. How long they had been there? i have no idea. I would gladly wait at the counter for my drinks, but after going there over 15 times and each time they brought them to me, i can't help but assume thats just how this place operates. No one was even at the counter, they were just sitting there, alone and sad. i was reading a couple other reviews and people have pointed out that there is a rude male on staff...and thats exactly who was helping me, both times. This is a good place to do some light reading and just relax with friends. there is good seating for parties of 2, 4, 8, and 10. the seats are really comfortable so you can order a drink and get studying/reading done for 5 hours without a problem. theres also a restroom for public use so that is always helpful. on a side note- they have blankets for customers to use. they are pretty clean and welcome to be used when it gets to chilly [: its a sweet touch. they also have a big tv outside. the outside seating is plentiful and is a great place to catch a football or basketball game. one problem is that people are constantly smoking outside so the smell comes in the cafe once in a while. the drinks are just okay and are overpriced. but you definitely pay for the ambiance and music. the shaved ice is good though. its a typical korean potbingsoo [red bean shaved ice with ice cream, various fruit, and condensed milk.. mmmm] you come here for the seating, music, and wifi. not so much for a great meal/drink. i've also never had a problem with parking so thats a plus. read more

Don't get me wrong, the place looks cute. What's NOT cute is that 30 minutes wait for a mere jasmine milk tea, which is sooo watered down it tastes like sugar water. I couldn't detect the jasmine whatsoever, and I can barely taste the milk too. And no, I didn't get my order wrong because the staff clearly said "jasmine milk tea." They also have outdoor section which for some reason doubles up as smoking section, but they didn't close the door so the smoke got inside the room and we were forced to inhale that stupid cigarette smoke the entire time we were there waiting for our drinks order. I wanted nothing more than to leave the place right after I got my order, and the disappointment just doubles up when I tasted my watered down milk tea. Me and my friends used to come here a lot everyday afterschool to buy a drink and work on our homework here. We would get the pistachio shake and Boba milk tea here as a treat when we study. The drinks here are decent, however, the service is honestly terrible. There was this Korean, middle aged lady who (I think was the owner) used to make our drinks was extremely rude whenever taking our orders, such as sneering at us and giving us dirty looks from behind the counter and whispering profanities to her employees. Honesty, I don't know what's her problem since we were minding our own business and working on a bio project together. One of her employees kept on harassing us by giving us dirty looks and snickering to the owner about some inside joke. For the first few times, we ignored this type of behavior, but after a while, it got so bad that we stopped coming. I love boba time! It's right next to my house and their boba is actually pretty awesome. My favorite drink is probably the duet, especially when I have a huge homework load and I have to stay up doing it. Their Korean shaved ice is my favorite. My family really enjoys the bingsoo there. Their food is pricey for their portion size but it's fairly good. I love to go to Boba Time with friends because the outside scene is super laid back. They have a fire place and canopies and a TV. This is my regular hangout place. Specially catered towards the Korean community since the owner is Korean. Great coffee and drinks. Lots of young people at night. Outdoor seating is always pleasant, however, smokers are the ones that usually choose outdoor seating. Music is great, if you like contemporary and classic Korean music. Went here for my first time and I'd say it was a cozy environment. I had always passed by this before but never visited until I decided I wanted to try a new place. It is a nice little cozy spot for hanging out and having a quiet little space to chit chat. Environment is nicely decorated, as well. I ordered a taro slush, strawberry slush, and mango smoothie. Awesome patio, even better drinks! People often complain about the price, but the cup is quite large and they don't put tons of ice in it. The fruit flavored fusion teas are great here (especially raspberry), especially when ordered less sweet. Also the hot chocolate is really really good! Typical Korean-run boba store. There is outdoor seating for smokers and a fireplace that consumes real wood, so beware the pungent smell of beach bonfire during cold nights. And there is indoor seating for everyone else. Free wifi but slow and spotty wifi. You have to take what you can get in this world. All their milk teas and green tea anythings are incredible. In my opinion, the size for the price is more to love. I died the first time I had a large green tea frappe... just died. Starbucks has never been a contender, but now it's no longer in the conversation. As for the people, there are always groups of adults that frequent this place well into the night. They're usually Korean, appears to be in the 40-60 age bracket, and gossip more than teenage girls. It's actually kind of endearing because (most) old people there are cute and harmless. I've been here a couple of times. The first time I really enjoyed it. I got a jasmine milk tea and yogurt slush with fresh fruit bits. The yogurt slush was AMAZING. The second time I went my experience was not as good. I ordered coffee, which was fine, but this time I also decided to give the food a shot, so I ordered their ramen without meat. For the price, the size and taste was ok - I think it's pretty safe to say you shouldn't expect the best ramen for $5. However, it was EXTREMELY salty. I couldn't really eat the broth because of this, and not long after I ate, I began feeling very, very sick. I'm not the type that's usually sensitive to foods, so this was a bit surprising and uncomfortable for me. Overall, I enjoy this spot and love the ambience. The drinks are also great. My friend and I have never had an issue with drinks we've ordered, and between us we've probably tried about 6 different drinks on their menu. However, the food has been a downside for me. Boba Time is OK. I have tried their yogurt (it was yummy) and their drinks (not so fantastic). Their Thai tea is average at best, their black & white (which is supposedly to be one of their better drinks) was okay (not the best). The actual boba itself is nothing to write home about (odd considering that's the name of the store). I prefer Lollicup and Ten Ren but this place isn't Taiwanese-owned so it would be unfair to compare. I found that their prices are a wee bit overpriced (especially since they are competing with Pinkberry across the street). They also have this outlandish policy where if you "dine" in you can only get a pre-fixed size (i.e., large yogurt - who can really finish that?). Their mochi topping is amazing though. I would probably go back for that but nothing else. The last time I went the place was relatively empty in the afternoon.
