Amazing thin crust Italian style pizza. Hidden gem of Reading/North Reading. I got a large cheese pizza and it's probably one of the better pizzas I have had in years in the area. A true thin crust. Perfect combination of cheese and sauce. If you don't like a ton of sauce on your pizza I definitely recommend the North End style thin crust. True perfection. We ordered from Cafe Capri for our Holiday Soiree. They were extremely kind, polite, and helpful. We ordered the food ahead of time, and it was delivered the day of the party free of charge! We ordered Eggplant Parmesan, Chicken Marsala, Baker Ziti, and Cheese Lasagna. The food was hot, fresh, and DELICIOUS. Our guests loved it and ate it up quick! Went there for lunch with a friend. When we walked in front counter person was on a personal phone call. So we didn't start out right. At lunch you order and sit down. We just got sandwiches. Just average nothing spectacular. Although the fries were tasty. Really got the feeling we were bothering the staff by coming in. When last night for dinner. Seen this place a million times and never went in. The place was spotless, people were all friendly, food was outstanding. We usually like this restaurant as their pizza is fantastic! However, we thought we would try some wings and a salad to go for a change. The salad was good (Caesar), however the wings were so disappointing. One order had around 7 or 8 of the tiniest dry little wing pieces I've ever seen. There was barely any meat on any of them. We ordered the plain ones and they were dry as a bone and looked like they were cooked days ago. We were so hoping they would have fresh meaty juicy wings. I have been looking for a new pizza place. I tried the North End Pizza and I thought it was pretty good. I decided to return and this time I had a panini sandwich. I was asked if I wanted fries or pasta salad. I hardly eat fries and I don't care for olives which were in the Pasta salad. I asked for a side salad instead.. To which the person rolled their eyes and said it would be an additional $3.00. When I opened the bag when I got home I couldn't believe it , it was the smallest salad with the worst end of iceberg lettuce, one small slice tomato, one sliver of onion and pepper! We decided to go a second time based upon the wonderful meal we had over a month ago. We went on a Friday night around 7:15. When we got to the hostess stand, we were told by someone behind the bar area that someone would be with us, shortly. We waited for about 5 minutes when the hostess came over and told us to wait just a minute. She followed another server (the funny one we had last time) into the bar area, then came back out, got the menus and had us follow her to the other side of the restaurant. She took us to the booth area. The ones that were open had duct tape on the seats, some more than others. She sat us at one with the lesser amount. Sitting 3 on one side and 2 on the other minimized who sat on the tape. We perused the menu and our waitress came over about 15 minutes later. By that time, we were ready to order. After placing our orders, she took the menus and left. She seemed to be a bit on the rough side, not sure if it was a bad day for her? We got our drinks except, for my husbands beer, which we had to ask for after 10 minutes or so. My son timed it and it took us 45 minutes for us to get our food. Bread came out quickly but it was tasteless and looked just like any other loaf of bread you could buy at the market. One kids plain pasta was fine. One large cheese pizza which tasted strange. I couldn't identify the ingredients used, but it was like a bad combination of oregano and vinegar. I ordered the Panini Chicken Codder. It was grilled chicken breast with mushrooms, provolone cheese, spinach and thousand island dressing. It was disgusting. The bottom bun was soggy and the entire sandwich tasted like spinach. Nothing had it's own taste. The onion rings I asked for were typical bagged, frozen, barely-any-onion-in-the-breading kind of rings. I didn't finish the sandwich or the rings. My husband had a panini with a some kind of roast beef/cheese steak and he said it wasn't great. We aren't sure what happened here. Our first experience as wonderful, although we noticed the decor needed to be fixed and cleaned (dirty mirrors, water stained ceiling tiles) but this one? Our hostess was bordering on rude, seemed harried, our food was awful. I wonder if it changed owners in the last month or something. New to area and trying to find our go-to pizza joint. We got a large cheese pizza and some buffalo chicken fingers. Pizza was pretty good and reasonably priced - thin Italian-style crust, cooked perfectly. Could've used a bit more cheese and the sauce was a little on the sweet side for me but definitely still a solid pie. Buffalo tenders were generously sauced with just the right amount of heat. Understand the context here: suburban wasteland pizza place. If you understand that going in then you won't be disappointed. In fact, you'll be quite happy with it. They offer a few different styles of crust (thin crust, colossal, traditional) as well as a long list of "gourmet" topping combos in addition to the regular pepperoni et al. Order the North End pizza. Ask for Extra Thin. They got two different style pizzas. North End is more thin and they got regular pizza which is thicker. The pizza reminds me of Bianchi's in Revere Beach. Has that Orange color to it which is cheese mixing in with the sauce. Nice and oily. Came in for dinner tonight with my wife & our son (wife and I have been here several times in the past) this was the first visit for our son who was home during a holiday break from college. Every time we have dined here we have had a great meal, their "colossal pizza" is one of our favorites, it is a large double thick pizza (kind of like a Sicilian pizza but not doughy or under cooked) theirs is perfectly cooked with a nice crispy crust and nice sauce and cheese, we add different toppings each time we visit and in the words of our son the pizza "is epic!". I have tried their pasta dishes, bbq meals and seafood and everything I have had so far has been EXCELLENT! Tonight our server was Sara (who happened to be my server that time prior to this too), she is very nice and was super busy tonight running all around the dining room waiting on several tables by herself but was still able to keep everything straight and do it all with a nice big smile! I asked her if I could please have a word with the owner, Michael came over to greet us and I told him how much we enjoyed his restaurant and how nice Sara was and that I wished the restaurant was located in Medford where I live because it is so good!! He thanked me for the compliment and I told him I was going to post this review! The hubby & I moved to Reading recently and this has been our go to pizza place. It is ALWAYS busy (which is a good sign). My new fave menu item is the toasted ravioli (pictured).. paired with their red sauce, it's a little piece of heaven. The hubby who is a pizza snob says this is the best pizza around. They have great subs, salads. We haven't had a bad meal yet. The service has definitely gotten better, very attentive and warm. I have been going to Capri since I was in grade school I was so disappointed that when we got a change of graduation date Capri was unable, even with an 8 hour notice, couldn't make a platter of a dish they make daily. My daughter had Chicken parm with fusilli. Again, huge portion but the chicken was coated with a soggy breading. Sure, kids like it, but it's not really good. Simply MASSIVE menu- find me a person who can't find something they want here and I'll show you a macrobiotic vegan d-bag. Haven't tried the pizza, but rave reviews all around for chicken parm, steak bomb/steak & cheese, fried sides (breaded not battered rings- "crispy as F---" as my man says), paninis, pasta specials, and burgers. Totally solid. (Also really fast delivery just over the border into Wakefield-- call and ask about your address.) I asked for some dressing for dipping on the side and they charge extra for that. I don't like being "nickel and dimed". Their website has a $2 off coupon. Use it. It's for your own good! If your on a budget don't try this pizza. It's too good and you won't be able to stay away. Next thing yah know you're buying a pizza every week... $17 bucks once a week...$884 a year. I have to say that when the pizza isn't Burnt it's really good... but more than half the time its black on the bottom and crust, if you order pasta Dinners and ask for bread and butter with take out( that they give you free with Dine in) they will say they are out of bread But you can order garlic bread that you need to pay extra for... they never run out of bread if your paying extra!! read more

If you know about this place (it's kind of hidden behind a Burger King), then you know how great the food is! I have never had a bad meal yet, and the new menu is outstanding. Now I have even more choices --fish, desserts, fine wines, etc... I love the bar area because it's so cozy, and the amazing, flat-screen TV always seems to have a good game on. And, yes, Capri is a family kind of place, but singles can find a nice spot at the bar to eat, drink, meet others and watch TV...for hours. It's my kind of place to hang out and relax. I have been going to Capri for years. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a really nice bar that has a friendly crowd. The wait staff are all very nice and most of the time are very attentive but never had a complaint with any of them. The food is pretty good and the pizza is probably some of the best in town. Occasionally my family and I will order delivery and normally the food will arrive to the door a lot faster than they say, but sometimes can be slow during a busy night which is understandable. Overall Capri is much better than a lot of the pizza places in town. Never had a complaint with anything whether it be a sub, a dish, or a pizza. All great! read more

Came here for a quick bite on a Friday night. The place is great for families. We ordered fried calamari, a North End style pizza, an Italian calzone, and a Greek salad with steak tips. The food was mediocre at best. The pizza was extremely soggy, while the calzone was extremely salty. My favorite part of the whole meal was the bread and butter. The service was mediocre as well. I got a grilled chicken salad with the house dressing last Friday night and have never been so sick in my life. I thought I had the flu within 4hours. I called to let them know...not once.
