I had a great experience at Café De Olla before, so I decided to return, but this visit was frustrating and disappointing. I waited for over two hours on the Yelp waitlist but never received a text that my table was ready. When I checked with the front desk, I realized I had been dropped from the waitlist. The staff was kind enough to allow me to rejoin since I arrived within the 10-minute grace period, but how was I supposed to know when that period started if I never got a notification? The worst part was how the staff handled my concerns. I tried to explain that I never received a notification, but instead of listening, they kept interrupting and making assumptions. Even if it was a technical issue, they should have at least let me speak instead of brushing me off. If you join the Yelp waitlist, stay nearby and keep checking in with the front desk. Otherwise, you might wait hours for nothing. The sign for check-in is inside the restaurant, which isn't obvious, especially when many people are waiting outside. I tried the Machaca Con Huevo and Del Norte this time. The portions were perfectly sized, with no leftovers, but nothing mind-blowing--not worth a two-hour wait. The service from the waiter was kind, and the food came out quickly, but the ambiance was off. The music kept cutting in and out, and the restaurant was crowded. While the food and service were decent, the frustrating check-in process, lack of communication, and dismissive attitude of the front desk left a bad taste in my mouth. I was still enjoying my conversation with friends, and beverage. Had just finished breakfast. Hostess grabbed my glasses with attitude. Later two waiters starting grabbing napkins from our table and more plates to rush us out. Didnt ask. There is no front sign that indicates you have to leave your table upon 75 minutes. No Poster. I checked by the hostess stand, and the cashier area and no signs that you have to leave your table within 75 minutes. We still had a few minutes left. The hostess was rude. There are no signs on front door glass that warn you. You will be hurried up after you get your check. Feels like you are at a cafeteria not a restaurant. Nothing notable or in large print to warn us ahead. Nothing on menu either to warn you that you will be rushed out. The stickers they post at your dining table are small. I never noticed it. We waited 20 minutes to be seated. Then after we were rushed out verbally. It felt intense and most of all mean. I asked for a manager who also serves as a busy food server. I mentioned, " you have so many empty tables, why are you rushing us out ? " That is our policy. This was not a Saturday or Sunday. They had soiled tables - they could have easily cleaned and set- up immediately. A way to lose business here. I had no clue this was "Fast Food" !!! Need training on customer service. We were informed that if we chose outdoor seating, we would have to self-serve, which normally wouldn't be an issue, but it led to several inconveniences throughout our meal. One of the biggest disappointments was the attitude of the male cashier, who became noticeably unfriendly after we opted not to leave a tip--despite the fact that we were serving ourselves. A tip should reflect service, and in this case, very little was provided. Additionally, after receiving our food, we had to leave our seats multiple times to retrieve essentials like utensils and missing drinks. While self-serve can streamline some aspects, the lack of attentiveness made the experience frustrating. What made the situation even more perplexing was that despite being told self-service was required for outdoor seating, we noticed that other customers--particularly a group with a disruptive dog--were receiving service from a waitress. The dog's presence made the dining experience uncomfortable, adding to the overall frustration. The inconsistency in treatment made our experience feel unfair and poorly managed. Overall, the combination of poor service, missing items, and an unpleasant atmosphere made this visit disappointing. A little more attentiveness and consistent customer care could have made a world of difference. The stars given were for the food. read more

Came here for breakfast with my family and honestly, everything was so good. The food came out hot, fresh, and tasted amazing. The portions were great, and the whole place just had a really nice, welcoming vibe. My favorite dishes were definitely the machaca and the chilaquiles both were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. And I have to mention the cafe de olla.. it was so good! It was the perfect way to start the morning and paired perfectly with breakfast. If you're not sure what to order, I highly recommend all three because they definitely did not disappoint. The best part of our visit was definitely our waitress, Monica. She was super sweet, always had a smile on her face, and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Our drinks were never empty, she checked in on us at the perfect times, and made us feel like she actually cared that we were having a good experience instead of just doing her job. It's hard to find customer service like that these days, and she honestly made our breakfast even better. You can tell she enjoys what she does, and it really shows. The food is great everything is great accept service been going for couple weeks now every Sunday but this pass 3 Sunday's service been real bad one when I got seat it down the table was to small I like to Oder lot of food so the people next to me left and was a bigger table I ask one of the front door people if I could move there she told me no because it was for 4 people seating and the next 2 minute she seated only 2 people i was like wow so not good the next Sunday the server that I got she never came to ask me if we where good or needed anything else other people where helping out and she came and said if you need anything ask me I was ok I was needing something never seen her at all even to get my bill to pay she didn't even came other people where great asking if I was good or needed anything but the person I got never seen her at all on 2 time that happen 2 times I don't know if she was new but she needs to be on top of her game if she wants to be a server or waitress but the place was good and the other waitress and servers where good I love the food there .. read more

Finally checked Café de Olla off my brunch list, & I'm so glad we stopped by! I've been eyeing this spot for a while, & it definitely lived up to the hype. To drink, I ordered the Horchata Latte! It was a little stronger than my usual preference (since I'm not a coffee drinker), but our server was so nice & brought me extra horchata to mix in, which made it absolutely perfect. We also tried the refreshing cucumber agua fresca, & it was so light & refreshing on these hot days! For brunch, I went with the Machaca con Huevo served with warm corn tortillas, & it was perfect, exactly what I was hoping for. We also had to order the Berry Banana French Toast, & it was the perfect way to balance out our meal. Having something savory followed by something sweet is always the move. One of my favorite little touches? They serve fresh conchas tableside, which made the whole experience feel even more special. I was with a small group eating breakfast (Monday). We spent over $85 and tipped generously. After we were presented our bill , the hostess immediately came up to our table, strong body language and rudely approached us. She told us we had to leave immediately. She stood staring at our small group to intimidate us. Hostess said, there is a 75 minute only time you can stay at your seat or booth. We were not here for all of 75 min. Next, hostess grabs my water glasses, and I was NOT done drinking my water. It felt aggressive. I noticed they were plenty of dirty and/ or empty tables, to focus upon, where by they could clean first. This was a Monday, breakfast and I noticed there were no large parties waiting. There was no need to bully my group, when we were still drinking coffee and enjoying dessert. I asked for a manager and she could only laugh at our concerns. Unprofessional. Unacceptable. The verde sauce was the perfect amount of spice and the chilaquiles were cooked to perfection--no soggy tortilla chips. The cafe de olla coffee was also amazing, and the fact that they offer free refills made the experience even better. The coffee had a rich and smooth flavor that paired perfectly with my breakfast. What really impressed me about this cafe, however, was their attention to detail. As a new parent, I was delighted to find out that they had a sling to hold my car seat while I enjoyed my meal. This made my experience so much more comfortable and enjoyable. We were looking for a place to have a late breakfast/early lunch. My family and I have ate at a different location located in Burbank. The place was definitely up to our expectation. It was much bigger than the one in Burbank and it was clean and casual. The menu was great and had plenty of options. Everything we ordered was amazing.
