We were in town for the day and came across this spot. We liked that they have a patio area because we had our dog, and that was nice. The inside is so cozy; it feels like you're at your grandma's house having food. Loved that. Ordered the midnight pomegranate drink, and that was delicious. They brought the sample dip plate along with the bread. Our favorite was the spicy green dip. Ordered the schnitzel along with their zatar fries. The chicken was perfect and crispy, and the side salad was really well paired. We also ordered the lamb kabob. This dish has a lot of Moroccan/Indian curry flavors. We are Middle Eastern, and this has more Indian flavor than Middle Eastern flavor but was still yummy. Our food did take a bit longer to come, so the chef did send us complimentary hummus, which was good along with olives, which were AMAZING. Overall, it's a really good spot to stop by if you are in the area.

    Sirloin Bourekas.

Cafe Dimona delivered a fantastic experience from start to finish. We tried a variety of small plates and drinks, and everything hit the mark. The first sauce plate was a great way to kick things off, fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The falafel was crisp on the outside and soft inside, and the lamb kebab was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The homemade olives added a nice briny balance to the table. The standout for us was the sirloin bourekas, rich, savory, and absolutely worth ordering. The regular bourekas were also excellent, flaky and satisfying. For drinks, both the Bazaar Nectar and Moroccan Light were refreshing and unique, pairing really well with the food. Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe made for a great meal. Everything we had was really good, and we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Very delicious and authentic menu. Our group shared various apps and entrees and all left comforted and satisfied. Service was attentive and ambience was cozy and relaxing. Convenient to the main areas and it was a nice walk from our rental for a girls weekend.

Fan-freaking-tastic!!! What a great little spot with deliciously creative bites. The place itself is super cute but it is a little noisy inside. Our server was awesome; super helpful and very attentive. My favorite was definitely the cabbage. Charred and cooked to perfection. The hummus and goat was a very close second. The absolute standout though was the baklava. OMG! It was light, flakey and perfectly sweetened. I wish I would've added the lemony sauce to the cauliflower because that would've been perfect. The orange knot dessert was a miss for me but the sauce was outstanding. I'm definitely coming back here to try more of the dishes. It's the perfect little somewhat upscale date spot with affordable creations.

Hands down, THE BEST Restaurant in Fredericksburg! Our first experience dining here is like going to all high end restaurant... service is impeccable, food comes out hot and fresh, staff is attentive and kind. I love that when you seated our waitress ask if this is our first time dining here or returning. We said first. She gave us the history of the restaurant which was open in 2023 and how the owner came to open Cafe Dimona with his family recipes. You get complimentary pita bread with 4 different dips. Preserve lemon, tahini, tomato salsa, and leafy green. All is good but Our favorite is the preserve lemon! refreshing and so lemon forward! The pita bread is so good! We ordered: 4/5: Humus comes with pita bread! The humus is good but I felt it was a bit under seasoned or needed acid. I added the preserve lemon with the humus and it was Devine! 5/5: lamb kebab and couscous was fire !! I am not a fan of lamb because of the gamey taste but this lamb was juicy, well seasoned, not gamey, and the best lamb kebab I've ever had! This dish was simply executed so well! The cherry tomatoes was roasted perfectly! Freshness of the cucumber salad helped balance the dish. Simple but excellent dish! Best Mediterranean food I've ever had! It comes with a lentil soup too. I wasn't a fan of the soup but my spouse devoured mine and his lol . Love that the meal is light and you weren't in a food coma after! Do I recommend this place? 100000 yes! I cannot wait to come back to try the branzino which they were out of when we visited. Order extra pit bread! The guest dining next to us was highly raving about Their roasted cauliflower so I can't wait to order that too! Lamb kebab is a must try. Super cozy place for date night, treat yourself, or if you simply want an excellent meal! This is a must try in Fredericksburg! Thank you to the Chef for amazing Mediterranean food in Fredericksburg! A hidden gem!

    Fresh Market Veggie Platter

We had lunch here early on Saturday afternoon. When we arrived there was only one other occupied table in the dining room. The restaurant is located inside of a very charming house and the interior is light and bright and very cozy. The service throughout was fine but a little bit off. When I said I was between the salad, the omelette and the shakshuka the waiter told me to get the shakshuka if I was in the mood for something "watery". Oof. We started with the fresh market veggie platter "for dipping" which ended up being just cucumber, radish, bell pepper and olives that were positively swimming in oil. It was also served without dip so I guess they were for dipping into the 4 sauces that they bring you to try when you sit down. For lunch I ordered the Laurie's Salad with a poached egg and my husband ordered the lamb kebabs. I completely agree with other reviews here that the portions you get for what you are paying is kind of crazy. My husband's $27 lamb kebab plate had three small lamb kebabs with a side of cucumber salad and that's it. My salad was missing it's avocado which they brought when I asked but they first questioned whether it wasn't really in there as if I may be fibbing. The taste of the food was generally fresh and healthy, I just didn't feel like it was worth the menu prices.

Cafe Dimona was a best option for our party when we were looking for a break from pretzels and sauerkraut. A healthier option but the best part was the ambiance of how they had converted a house into a cozy restaurant. The staff were friendly and didn't have a much of a wait time. The decor was stellar , including the utensils and tableware. My order: Spicy shakshuka Falafel Charred cauliflower Mint tea Orange cake Turkish coffee Pita Sauce platter Challah Loved the spicy Shakshuka. It had a good balance of spices and the spice level wasn't too high and was definitely manageable . Falafel plate was an excellent order. It had the perfect crispiness and the interior was well cooked, not too hard nor moist. Loved the MINT tea. So refreshing!! Best sauces were - Tahini, Amba Mango , Kavush and Matbuha! Will definitely return for the complete package!!

This is a gem located in Fredericksburg, Texas. We came here on a Saturday evening. It was a cute little looking Cafe with a cozy interior. Definitely an intimate setting. Service was great. They were able to get us our food relatively quickly after we placed our orders. They start you off with a nice little sauce plate with their complimentary homemade pita bread and four different types of sauce. Their tomato based sauce was definitely our favorite. For our appetizer we got Laurie's salad. They make their own lemon tahini based vinaigrette that complements the salad very nicely. It was light, refreshing, and savory. Hummus the Works was excellent. It was spiced really well and topped with meat. It was a Mediterranean version of stuffed nachos. The lamb kebab was not actually a kebab. It was blended with wagyu but still very soft, tender, and tasty. Overall, this was delicious and we left full and satisfied. You should definitely check this place out if you happen to be in town!

I loved this place and its homey vibes. I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food and this place was so fresh and delicious! My friend and I visited for lunch and were greeted and sat without a wait or reservation. We were very quickly served a sample of the homemade sauces on a plate to taste before we chose our meals. I really liked the white one and the red one (can't remember their names), and our server was able to tell me which dishes had more of those sauces/were made around those flavors. I will say the menu felt limited! We had a hard time figuring out what to order, but ended up with the hummus plate and a salad to share and it was plenty for us! The beef and lamb were really savory. I'd like to go back for a dinner meal & try out another dish! Side note: the bathroom was so cute and had a great smelling candle lit which added to the ambiance of the place.

    Eggplant Tahini Chips
    Maitina M.

We had reservations for lunch at Cafe Dimona to celebrate a friend's birthday. We decided to go with their shareables and one entree. We ordered the eggplant tahini chips (good but a bit too salty), fries, hummus, children tenders & fresh cut fries (they were out of the schnitzel) and the falafel entree. I really enjoyed everything we ordered with the exception of the eggplant chips. They were good but as mentioned, they were a bit too salty. Service was spot on. We were well attended and the owner/manager also made it a point to check on our group. The place itself is nice and cozy. It's an older house that was converted into a restaurant. The decor is well thought through. This place is well worth a visit.

Sauce sampler with warm pita. Complementary to new customers. I'll forever be "new"!

I need 6 stars to give! Get in your car!!! Chandra met us at the door and served us expertly through our meal. The cafe is a converted house... absolutely lovely inside! We enjoyed an early lunch that started with Turkish coffee which was luscious. Because it was our first time we received a sauce and pita sampler: lemon kavush, tahini, matbuha, and shug. I loved them all but especially the tahini and the matbuha which is tomato-based. The shug was really good too... think pesto. Together my sisters and I ordered the lamb and wagyu kebabs, the wine braised short rib cigars, hummus the works, Israeli salad, baba ganoush, falafel, and dessert (discussed below). Y'all, when I say good I mean amazingly good! All of it! Even though we were very full we succumbed to dessert, a chocolate babka which was a warm hazelnut chocolate challah pastry, 4 slices with vanilla ice cream, sweet lord! We also shared a brown butter walnut cookie, pure heaven. Such a special place. I asked if they had an empty bedroom, lol!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This place truly lives up to the hype! My hubby and I were in Fredericksburg and were about to go to one of our regular spots but came across this treasure! We were seated and shortly after were given a basket of bread with a sample platter of four dips: 1. Lemon kavush-10/10 amazing 2. Tahini- 7/10 decent 3. Matbuha- 10/10 delicious 4. Shug- 10/10 need on everything! (The bread was good but it would've been better if it was warm.) We wanted to try as much as possible so we order a ton of different items! Hummus the works, absolutely a must. Creamy hummus with juicy lamb and beef, zesty lemon, perfect with the hot pita, though they only give you one pita and you clearly need more than that so order extra, OR we chose to order the market vegetables instead of more bread, which was the right move! We also ordered falafel, the yogurt with chives, lamb kabobs, and Israeli salad. We also got the mint iced tea which was so perfect to wash it all down. I wanted to order the orange blossom cake but they just sold out and I wanted to cry! So we ended up getting the pistachio white chocolate cookie. Everything was top notch! The food, the service, the decor! Perfect for date night or just no reason other than wanting amazing food!

Stopped here for brunch on our way back from Fredericksburg and really enjoyed the experience overall. The Middle Eastern dishes like shakshuka and challah were flavorful, and the mint tea was incredibly refreshing! The atmosphere was cozy and service was generally good. One small disappointment: we were planning a surprise birthday celebration, but the server asked about it in front of the birthday girl, which took away from the surprise. Still, a lovely spot with great food and warm vibes!

This is easily one of the best halal and gyro-style spots I've tried in Texas. The prices are great, and the portions are fair and filling. The chicken was perfectly seasoned with a light spice, the rice was soft, and the vegetables were fresh. Honestly, I'd choose NY Gyro King over CAVA or Chipotle any day--the food tastes fresher, the portions are just as good or better, and the value is hard to beat. The excellent customer service made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back.

His usual menu consists of pizza, chicken nuggets, and not much else. Getting him to try something new is usually a challenge. To my surprise, he tried the gyro and actually loved it. Not just a few bites--he genuinely enjoyed it. Any restaurant that can win over a picky eater deserves some recognition. The food was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The meat was well-seasoned, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything came together perfectly. It's the kind of place that's approachable for people who are new to Mediterranean food while still being delicious enough for those who already love it.
