The owner is very very rude!!!! Not recommended, ice cream is so so , waist of time and money!!!

Extremely rude guy at the cashier. He was mean and cranky, and the place had rude service. When I asked where my order was, he asked what order. Then he screamed at me that his workers had forgotten the order and if I didn't like it I should get out. He got into my face and called me sh$%. He was harsh with all customers. Aggressives and never says thank you. He looks angry and tired. I have no problem when workers forget something. It happens, but a little apology would have sufficed. Instead, he ( I think the owner) got into my face and was mad at me for asking for my order. Unbelievable!!! read more

Place is absolutely amazing. Really cool vibe in there and really charming outdoor courtyard. Menu is excellent. Had the Napoli breakfast panini but everything the owners were preparing looked amazing. Coffee was delicious. Want to go back for Gelato! I have had the best ice cream, coffee and smoothies from Cafe Dolce. Service is fast and super friendly. It's a must stop while in Solvang. This place can get really busy but they always make sure you're taken care of and happy. Unfortunately today I witnessed a large family party, bring food from adjacent restaurant to eat at the outside tables. They were rude to the owner and left a mess. So sad. read more

I love the ice cream there! Big fan of the flavor of pistachios. I have tried so many, and this is one of the best that I have ever had. Not too sweet, and creamy. The environment is also pretty cozy. Definitely will go back if I visit Solvang again. read more

So, last week I took a road trip with my best friend up NorthCal. I spotted this coffee shop and as a coffeeholic I needed my doze of caffeine. Little did I know how much I was going to love the coffee!!! The coffee ambiance is so chill. The owner personally asked my friend and I if we liked our drink. The customer service is on point I've personally worked it before and I can tell you they take their customer satisfaction very serious. It's a small coffee shop, so it does get busy. But I believe it goes with the experience. After all, it isn't Starbucks darling. I got a Hazelnut latte and he got a caramel latte both hot. 10/10 Recommend. I will be back!!! read more

I visited Cafe Dolce on a Monday afternoon, and ordered an iced matcha latte with soy milk. There was one young lady (probably in high school, working a part-time summer gig) working the register/drinks, and an older man who I believe to be the manager/owner of the store. After a few minutes, I looked up to see the young lady making my drink with whole milk, as she had a gallon of it on the counter. I informed her that I had asked for soy milk. She apologized and asked if I had an allergy, and I let her know that I'm lactose intolerant. The manager then walked by to see her remaking my drink, and asked her why she was doing so. The employee told him that I asked for soy milk, and that I was lactose intolerant. He then looked at me and asked, "Did you tell her you were lactose intolerant when you ordered?" in an accusatory tone. I told him that I had indeed asked for soy milk. At this point, it had already taken more than ten minutes for me to receive my drink. While she was ringing me up, she charged me $6. As I was about to swipe my card, the manager hovered over her and told her that he needed to charge me for soy milk, and took over the register. This sort of behavior from the owner is unacceptable to me. There is no need for a customer to disclose any sort of dietary restriction/allergy when ordering something as simple as a drink, especially if the employee taking the order was essentially at fault. At the very least, he should have comped the 75 cent dairy substitution. Terrible customer service on behalf of the owner, and an incredibly pricey drink (as someone who lives in Los Angeles!) for something that was incredibly mediocre. read more

Cafe Dolce is a small cafe that sells smoothies, coffees and gelato in a small hidden courtyard in Solvang. The gelato were large and the coffee was strong. The line to order was long, but not because the workers are slow. The courtyard has small tables under umbrellas available for your leisurely pleasure. read more

Maybe I am too spoiled with the bullets my boyfriend prepares, but the one i had there for like 8 bucks (ouch!) was not comparable and the coffee tasted stale. Still, the barista took her time and did not hurry a bit, which was good because is how it should be...slow process...just the taste was not good. It's a cute little cafe tucked in the lil ole town of solvang. it has a nice little out door area where you can sit and enjoy your treats. Whether you choose tea, açais bowls, ice cream etc. It's great because it has something for everyone in your group. Because it is amidst the tourist scene everything is a little on the pricier side but nothing too over bearing. Although, they do need to work on service. They were very efficient in getting through the line. But we had gotten a Jasmine Green Tea which was meh, so we thought maybe a little sugar would spruce it up and make it a little better. negative. Refreshing smoothies! Walked in here one Wednesday afternoon while it was a scorching 80 something degrees outside. The beau and I were both dying of thirst and were craving smoothies. So we both ordered smoothies. He got the Pitaya ($7.50) and I got their "signature blend" Cafe Dolce ($7.50). The Pitaya had less and simple ingredients of mango, banana and pineapple compared to my Cafe Dolce smoothie, which had strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, mango, pineapple, banana, orange juice and yogurt. I guess this is where I'd say less is more. I preferred the Pitaya over mine. I couldn't pinpoint what mine tasted like since it had pretty much everything in it. But it was still good and just what I needed to keep me from melting outside under the heat. Pitaya was delish, I think the pineapple made it extra refreshing. They have seating inside (cute decor!) and outside so you can sit and sip on your drinks wherever while cooling off or chatting with a friend or two. We came here almost near their closing time so there wasn't anyone there but us. They also seem to have other selections like acai bowls, protein shakes, shaved ice, icecream and boba. They have a great private outdoor seating section where I can enjoy my treats safely away from wandering tourists. The owner was the one who took our order and was NOT welcoming. He seemed very annoyed. When he charged us he didn't even say how much it was, just pointed at the total on the screen. Cute cafe with a variety of quality drinks and creamy ice cream in a variety of witty flavors. Names included "Jack & Coke" and "Straight to the Dentist" (a cotton candy/marshmallow flavor) For being so tiny in size, this really is a "something for everyone" type of place. There's a coffee menu, a mocha menu, a kale smoothie menu, and fruity drink menu. I was also surprised to see a nice bench out on the grass that was perfect to enjoy our drinks on and relax. They also serve Turkish coffee, which is what my friends originally came here to try. It was served in what looked like a doll size teacup, but was definitely not a chug and glug shot type of thing. We lightly sipped at it to just coat the surface of our lips and just keep doing that slowly until finished. My friends and I came here drunk after hopping about three bars. We left unexpectedly sober and alert after Turkish coffee. It also went really well with a scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream as well. I got a pressed juice and forgot to ask for a cup of ice, when I went back I put my cup on the counter and was about to take my straw out so they could put a scoop of ice when the man snatched the cup making the straw pop out and stained my white shirt.. it was rude and unnecessary.. he didn't apologize or care that it happened.. if I'm paying almost 12 bucks for a 12oz juice I would appreciate some better service.. the juice was pretty good and also got some shaved ice.. Note to self: Italians don't know shit about boba. Came here specifically for boba, since they say they have it, and I got the worst boba I've ever had in my life. I'm super unpicky, I'm generally happy with anything, but the tea was so bad I spit it back in the cup and threw the whole thing away. My wife had Thai tea boba and it was just as terrible. I asked for classic milk tea (what I get at my usual boba place) and they literally just poured old Lipton's tea in a cup with some milk and boba balls and called it boba tea. The boba was uneven and broken up and stuck together, it didn't go up the straw at all, and the tea was completely unsweetened. Totally missed the point of boba. First things first the acai bowl was amazing. Dolce gets 3/5 because of service. I walk in and go to place my order. The man is extremely rude to me and acts like he doesn't want me to be there. He tells the woman in the back my order and just leaves, so I'm the only one in the shop. Overall in Solvang the service is lacking at most food places. But the bowl was super good and filling. The other lady worker had to show the girl on her phone a funny reel on her iPhone and was laughing while I was watching her make the açaí bowl. It was kinda rude to do that. Best espresso in town. The avocuddle and power up smoothies are amazing. I highly recommend the espresso compania (if I'm remembering the name correctly).
