After I respectfully told the barista that she made the wrong drink, she refused to make it the right way and instead decided to be condescending and rude to me, for no reason! I was very nice to her. I come to Dulce all the time, so this is very surprising to me. Idk what's going on with Dulce but I've been coming here for some time and when I mean time I mean years and one thing that I do know is everyone comes here for the matcha specifically the blueberry matcha. Now they either changed the formula or something because you can barely taste the matcha or blueberry and at this point it just taste like milk...not matcha not blueberry nothing. I got let down by the matcha so bad recently I decided maybe I need to try something stronger so I tried the Premium Matcha and it's literally just unsweetened matcha or it just taste like unsweetened version of the regular matcha which is so wild to me $8 for unsweetened matcha latte that barely tasted like a proper matcha latte. The lack of effort and care is the reason why this last time I went will be my last visit. read more

I love going to Cafe Dulce for their blueberry matcha and donut holes. I normally go to their Little Tokyo location but happened to be at USC Village so decided to grab something quick here. I saw that they had a strawberry matcha as their seasonal drink so I ordered that instead. It tasted just as good as their blueberry matcha! Subtly sweet strawberry and earthy matcha makes a good combination. I also picked up a matcha donut which was so soft and fluffy. Service was fast and they validate parking. There was lots of ample seating to sit and do work (perfect for USC students!) and they provided WiFi too. Came here today with a friend who goes to school at USC and saw that there was a line out the door, but my friend said it's always like that and we were only in like for less than 10 minutes, I ordered the breakfast burrito and had the Oreo cheesecake donut as a last minute addition and don't regret getting it at all! Now onto the main event, the breakfast burrito it came with bacon, eggs, roasted potatoes and spicy mayo and came with a side hot sauce that complimented all the flavors in the burrito really well, typically I enjoy my breakfast burritos with a crispier potato base like tots but they were really flavorful by themselves so they got a pass from me. 4.3 stars out of 5! I picked a drink that was a dollar cheaper and asked about the price difference since I had already paid. The girl at the counter gave me a weird look and said, "It's a dollar..." Also got a strawberry matcha ($6.50) to compare and it lacks in comparison -- it tastes artificial almost but that may be due to the use of almond milk in addition. Dulce has good coffee and good, though very expensive, donuts. The problem is they run out of decaf espresso super often, and the wait is often 20-30 minutes just to find out there is no more decaf. It would be nice if they just stocked up properly or put up a sign when they're out? I'm sure it will remain popular since there is virtually no competition around USC but I need to find another option. The "side salad" that is served with the sandwich was also very flavorful and refreshing. In terms of the drink, some people hate it but some people love it. I don't think the blueberry flavor is thattttt noticeable but it's still a tasty drink. This location has a lot of seating on the side and in front of the store, but it is almost always full. I'm not picky with coffee but damn this was bad. I got a Vietnamese coffee and my girlfriend got an almond milk latte. My Vietnamese coffee was essentially a burnt latte and my girlfriend's might as well have been a cup of almond milk. Also, I might sound like an old man but I don't think a cafe needs subwoofers and full speaker setup that's so loud the speakers are peaking, but that's just a personal preference. I typically don't like blueberry with matcha and am more of a strawberry matcha person, but the blueberry flavor wasn't overpowering. It is definitely on the sweeter side so if you like your matcha sweet, Dulce would be the spot for you. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for high quality matcha though. They sell ceremonial matcha latte, but it doesn't taste much stronger than their regular matcha latte. Usually I just get the Blueberry Matcha Latte, but honestly, it's mostly just sweet with the fragrance of matcha. The Masala Chai is the same thing, sweet with the fragrance but not taste of the spices. Apple Spiced was decent but the flavor is not strong. I've had their bacon glazed donut, fruity pebbles donut, strawberry cream donut, blueberry and matcha rotis, and matcha brick. The donuts were fine.
