Solid spot for casual Indian food. Generous portions for the price. The lunch thali is available 11-5pm and gets you 3 different curries/entrees, can of soda or water, a ton of naan, rice, and a dessert. While you can choose between vegan, vegetarian, and meat thali for the day, the foods included are already chosen for you. Service was fast for lunch on a Friday.

Whether you're eating this post bars at 1am or nursing a hangover the next day OR even as an easy takeout dinner for home IT DOES NOT MISS. Butter chicken has a generous amount of chicken ( $13.99) and the tandoori bread was crispy ($1.99). The samosas ($3.99) were slightly dry, but did come with two different sauces to dip. Service is on the slower side - it took about 45min to pick up our order on a Friday around 530pm, but well worth the wait.

Tried Café India for the first time via a to-go order (through Doordash). Ordered the chicken tiki masala with rice and garlic naan. I thought the chicken dish had very good flavor and I enjoyed the option of spicy vs non. It pairs really well with a plain rice or bread. The garlic Tandoori is delicious but pretty strong flavor wise so I had just a smaller portion. Overall I felt portions of everything were good for the price and I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

We stopped by for lunch in a recent Saturday - and we were hungry! This little stop did not disappoint. We ordered at the front then took a booth by the front window. The restaurant is in a small strip mall, in between a gas station and an auto resource shop. The cafe was filled with the music videos of Indian rap (so if there's one suggestion I'd say mix up the music videos a bit. it didn't bother us but I can see that it would cater to more types of music taste to vary that up a bit. Food was served in takeout plastic containers and paper plates - it isn't really a sit-down full service restaurant- at least not on our visit. I'm not sure if that's the norm but we didn't mind as the takeout was already ready in to-go containers! The food was delicious - just the kind of Indian food you want. The Indian food scene in Milwaukee has really elevated in recent years and the food here was deliciously good. I'd order takeout again and again. We had chicken curry, naan, chick peas (chole batura) and more, all good.

The food is delicious and well priced for how much food you get. My group came in early so there weren't many people there and the food came out so quickly. It was a nice calm environment too, perfect for a dinner w friends.

Always tell people that this is a must try for Indian food. Not only do they have a ton of great traditional meat dishes, but they also have a lot of vegan options as well! Most things are marked veg but be sure to ask if you're not sure as the staff is very well versed on what is or can be. The place seems small but they have a huge side room to expand for larger parties or busier times. There is always tv on and Indian Idol is a favorite. Definitely worth coming in for any meal.

We first went here the other day and dined in and order the chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, vegetable samosa and garlic naan and loved it all! This location was cozy and modern with great service. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered it to go the next day and it did not disappoint. The second time We ordered butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan again . All were so flavorful and delicious and the chicken was just right in tenderness. Overall it's well seasoned and a fair price. Something to keep in mind: when I ordered the Korma the first time, I got it in medium and it was a bit spicier than I expected. Overall highly recommend if you're looking to stuff yourself with Indian food

Visiting Milwaukee, we realized that we needed some Indian food. Cafe India is a place that is hidden next to a gas station. First of all, please don't waste time ordering the non vegetarian Thali. The dishes were the generic affair and didn't have the nostalgic taste of an Indian Thali nor the new age oomf that one can expect. Also the samusa chicken is a lot of hype for nothing. The chicken filling felt like old Tikka leftover meat. Tea was great. No fancy stuff. However the star of the show was the Chole bature with chutney. Thr chutney was amazing and Chole excellent. I definitely recommend getting this over anything else. 3/5

Fantastic!!! The food is exceptional. You get a lot of food. We ordered the lunch special which came with nan, samosas as a side, and tandoori bread.

I honestly didn't love the food nor the atmosphere. The space was very cluttered and seating area wasn't very comfortable. The staff was extremely nice and friendly though. The place is also fairly priced, over all would not come back only bc I've had plenty of desi food in my life so my taste buds are pretty hard to impress.

Absolutely delicious! This was our first time trying India food. Very flavorful and well seasoned. We ordered through DoorDash but I'm excited to visit and eat in person. I definitely recommend this restaurant. We still have leftovers. Every bite was fulfilling. Check them out!

I was surprised to see it delivered in styrofoam. Food was okay. Mango lassi tasted like it was fermenting, and not in a good way.

Saffron remains one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in MKE I love so many things about it. The ambiance is spot on, moody, yet energetic. Their cocktails are always ahhhmazing. Each dish that comes out is somehow better than the last, there's not one thing on the menu that disappoints. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, offering great recommendations when we are choosing between items. It's a great spot to go with a larger group so you can try lots of dishes! It's not impossible to get a reservation which I appreciate, but it's always booked/lively. The food presentation only enhances the experience, but the flavors and textures are really what make this menu shine. I cannot wait to go back in July with a group of friends (who have never been!) and try the whole menu! Bravo, Saffron, keep up the great work
