Clam Chowder
Linda S.

What a great menu. It was hard to decide, but I went with the Spicy Thai Noodle Salad topped with a crab cake. My husband ordered the soup of the day, clam chowder and the house salad topped with scallops. I washed it down with an Alagash White. Food was oustanding! Our server was so nice and the place has a great vibe. It has an amazing patio but it was a little chilly so we sat inside near the bar.

House Lager

Such a relaxing spot here at Cafe Karibo and went for the outside seating as this weather has been good so far this December. Next week I beard there will be a freeze warning! Had the House Lager Beer and it was refreshing. Ordered the Crab dip chips con Queso and it was alright. The Red tuna was delicous as it was paired with the variety of greens onions and spinach. Our server Emily was very accomodating and very friendly. Parking was easy as I found one just right across the restaurant for easy access.

Hazy little thing

I ordered the Flounder and it was delicious. The rice with coconut milk was a creative idea and it tasted great. I liked the beer selection, especially on tap, but also in bottle. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere. It's a creative menu and we'll worth the visit.

Curried Chicken Salad Wrap
Allison C.

We dined in for lunch on a weekend. There was a short wait and we were seated at a table outside. We enjoyed a baby spinach and kale salad, a curried chicken salad wrap, our famous veggie burger and a turkey Cuban. We all enjoyed our food. The veggie burger bun was too large to eat all at once. The curried chicken salad wrap was well seasoned and generously sized. The turkey Cuban and fries were crisp and piping hot. The salad we felt could have used more greenery. All in all we enjoyed our experience and meals. We would return

Okay, okay.. this restaurant has been highly recommended by all my friends who live in Fernandina so I tried it initially and was somewhat disappointed. I decided to give it another shot but unfortunately it was during the shrimp festival. I'm gluten free and there was a pre-made menu which was fine. But they wouldn't make any substitutions so my only choice was a salad. The salad was fine. My friend got the fried fish and initially I looked wonderful but it was so thin that there was almost no fish and it was all breading. It was also really dry of course and it was served Very Room temperature. The place was not packed at all so I'm really surprised. When I mentioned this to the waitress she did not want to make any accommodations to replace it nor remove it from the check. My salad was just adequate and substantial for a lunch. I've heard they have amazing food but apparently I just can't order correctly there. I really wanted their chocolate dessert that I had heard so much about but they didn't have it as an offering. Gosh, I hate writing mixed reviews when I know it's a highly rated restaurant. But we're told to give our honest opinion

Duck Tacos
Shane G.

We sat on the patio which was very tranquil. A lot of trees and Spanish moss. The duck tacos were really good. I ordered a rum runner, which was average at best. Good place to be outside in downtown.

Fish tacos minus the taco shell (as requested) DELICIOUS!

A solid great place to have wonderful food each time I visit here! Started with a delicious lavender margarita & moved right to the daily special, the fish tacos, (but without the tacos due to my dietary restrictions), served with all the toppings and the black olives I had requested. Relaxing, great quality food served in a clean & comfortable environment. Definitely always on my go to list!

Crabby Benedict

I have been here 3 times in the last two months for different events and have been WOWED every single time. Amazing service, never a wait and the FOOD wow oh wow. My entire party at the 3 sittings all had amazing plates as well. This place lived up to the hype of my island friends!

Thai noodle salad

My first time in Fernandina Beach, stopped here for a quick bite! I got the Thai noodle salad and my husband got the Blacken Mahi Sandwich. Everything was delicious. Staff were efficient and friendly. I would come back just for that back patio and amaretto sour . Beautiful restaurant, highly recommend checking it out.

It was a beautiful day, so we decided to try this new restaurant we had never tried. We ate on the patio. Got served quickly at first. Gentleman was cordial and polite. Bring out a cold bottle of water and drinks. We ordered the clam chowder and chili with Cajun cornbread. The clam chowder was some of the best one person said and the other would rather it have been a little thicker but great!! I got the chili which was excellent with a different selection of beans and great taste. The cornbread was really delicious. I got for my entree the shrimp salad croissant that was great my husband had the breezy. The potato salad was to die for and the sandwich tasty. The place is nice for lunch and would re

This is one of our favorite places on the island. Come here often and have never had issues with the service or the food. Like many places on the island it is way overpriced for what you get but the food has always been consistent. A must stop if you come to the Island.

Is this place pet friendly?

As far as I know, yes. I saw dogs there but I think only on the patio? There's a sign on the door to the bar area that says only service animals allowed through that door

Our server was kind, but not overly friendly (I don't want a performance, you know?). And our food came out maybe 10 minutes after we ordered. We were early enough to order the Sunrise Special and the egg portions seemed surprisingly large! The grits were lovely. The bacon was not the best, it's thin cut (reminiscent of microwave bacon) and I prefer it to be thick. I ordered the eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. The hollandaise could have had a touch more seasoning, but the texture was great. I actually preferred the Canadian bacon that came on it than the regular bacon that came with the Sunrise Special. It was perfectly salty and crisp. Oh! And it came with crab meat on it which was a special twist I didn't expect but really appreciated. The potatoes are cut into large chunks, but they are well seasoned and cooked nicely. I can't stand when a potato is undercooked, but this place didn't have that problem. And the cherry on top was the water. Florida locals may not be bothered by the ocean-y taste that comes with their drinking water, but for our family it is something that's hard to get past. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this water tasted as if it was filtered and the ice is that soft kind that's pleasant to chew. This might seem like a silly thing to add, but it really stood out to me and I'm grateful for it.

We were early, but quickly and kindly seated in a comfortable booth. Service and the branzino dish were excellent. Other dishes were rather mediocre. We ordered: * Cesar: basic * Daily Ceviche: good, though I prefer a spicier preparation * Sea Bass: disappointing and lacking flavor, according to my dining partner * Branzino du Jour: grilled over hot coals, prepared with rich mushroom risotto, truffles, and lumps of lobster. Stand out dish of the evening. While I absolutely adored my branzino dish, it was not worth the long drive. My pescatarian dining partner was deeply disappointed in the taste and plating of the food -- particularly compared to better nearby options like 14 Prime and Medure. I could have gone for a slice of rich, dense chocolate cake for dessert, but they only had creamy things. We passed. All in all, I'm glad I got to try David's.

The decor really hasn't changed; it's still one of the nicest rooms on the island. We showed up with three bottles of wine from deep in our cellar, and they handled them well. I offered to cork the 2015 Chablis, as I was a little unsure about the cork stability, and they were fine with that. (By the by, the wine was fine; absolutely wonderful, in fact). Our party of 7 ordered across the menu; the burrata starter (with an extra order of focaccia, as suggested by the server), the meatballs, the suppli, and 1/2 dozen of the east coast oysters. The oysters were great; small, shallow cup, briny and fresh. The suppli were small, but cut into bite size portions, we shared them around, and the taste was all there. The meatballs were slightly smaller than we thought they'd be, but they were meaty, juicy, and came in a ragu that perfectly complemented them. The burrata was the star of the show; fresh, milky, and accompanied with diced tomatoes, onions and strawberries. We were in luck with out entrees; they had their burger on the menu. The burger is made from scraps of their Waygu steak. It was served on a toasted brioche bun with melted cheese, house burger sauce, and house made pickles. The fries were delivered extra crispy, as I requested. It was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Truly spectacular. The pastas really shone; the lobster ravioli were wonderful (though the portion was a little smaller than we thought is should be) with thin hand stuffed pasta and plentiful lobster filling; the pasta carbonara was wonderful (and prepared with guanciale, as it should be), and the English pea and mint agnolotti was a vegetarian's dream. The smoked chicken lasagna was a huge portion served in a cast iron coquette; I seem to recall it from the old menu, and it was as good as always. We were all stuffed after our feast, but we still had room to share some of the mini cannolis. They were made à la minute; no mushy pastry shell here. First class dessert Service was good, pricing was reasonable, and the atmosphere was lovely; highly recommended for modern Italian on Amelia Island.
