What stood out to me was the traditional preparation and attention to detail. This is an artisan bakery in every sense of the word. The flavor and texture were outstanding, and you can tell the bread is made by people who care deeply about their craft. It makes insanely great toast! Since I hadn't been in the shop before, the display case is full of decadent bake goods beyond bread. Make sure you get a loyalty card when you check out. When you buy four loaves, you get 50% off the 5th loaf. After nine loaves, you get your 10th loaf free. If you're a sourdough fan, this place is worth a visit. We'll definitely be back.

So far my favorite has been the cream cheese with mango or blueberry. I am a die hard for Shokupan which is a fluffy milk bread. It's hard to grab as this bakery sells out way before they close some times. She does allow pre ordering breads if you buy in bulk. The multigran sourdough bread loaf has such a nice fluffiness in the inside and a rustic taste on the outside. The seeds keep you full for quite awhile. Her muffins are not sweet at all. Perfect balance especially early in the morning. The monkey bread muffin is also something worth trying as well! Definitely worth stopping by for any occasion.

If you're looking for a legitimately delicious deli, look no further--this place is the real deal!…read moreThe restaurant has a wonderfully quaint vibe, with a few tables inside and several benches outside to sit back and enjoy the food. What really stood out right away was the service. The lady taking our orders was incredibly nice and personable, and she actually took the time to walk us through the menu to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I went with the #5, which is their version of a Sicilian Muffuletta. It was phenomenal. It's stacked with mortadella, salami, provolone, ham, and Swiss cheese, topped perfectly with a red wine vinaigrette chopped olive salad, all sitting on a beautifully toasted seeded loaf. One of my friends ordered the #20 Reuben, and it was a masterpiece. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu corned beef, legit sauerkraut from Brooklyn, house-made Russian dressing, and melty Swiss, all piled high between two buttery, toasted slices of marble rye bread. Naturally, I also grabbed a couple of their homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we got a raspberry and blueberry tiramisu that was absolutely terrific. You just can't leave a place like this without hitting the dessert menu! I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this spot. Honestly, if I lived in the area, I'd probably gain 50 lbs--and it would be worth every single ounce!

They have indoor seating and a outdoor patio, plus convenient to-go options. We're excited to return and try more from their menu, including various delicious sandwiches and Italian sausage. The market area was a nice surprise, filled with take-home meal options that promise the same high quality and authentic flavors. I can't wait to return for more! I also love that they offer gluten-free options to purchase for take home as well as to eat in the store or to go. The employee did mention to call ahead to make sure that they have gluten-free bread if you're looking for a sandwich.

The restaurant has been open about four years, but the recipes go back much further. The family's original sister restaurant in Argentina dates back to 1987, and the food absolutely feels rooted in tradition and authenticity. This was actually my first experience trying Argentinian food. From the Milanesas section of the menu, I ordered the Napolitana, topped with tomato sauce, ham, and cheese. I later learned it's supposedly soccer legend Lionel Messi's favorite dish. To me, it reminded me a bit of a deep-fried German schnitzel, in the best possible way. It came with delicious fries that disappeared quickly. My wife absolutely loved the freshly made empanadas. One detail we thought was clever: each empanada is stamped with a number identifying the filling, which makes ordering and sharing much easier. The surprise star of the meal was the Rogel cake for dessert. Thin, flaky layers packed with dulce de leche and topped with toasted meringue/ rich, crunchy, sweet and absolutely unforgettable Another fun surprise was the robot that delivers the food from the kitchen before the server brings it to your table. A small touch, but memorable. The pricing is incredibly reasonable, especially considering how authentic and satisfying the food is. Definitely a hidden gem in Kansas City if you're looking to try something different.
