cute little place on the square. came on a saturday with farmers market out front so kinda busy and randos coming in to use the bathroom. This is the kinda place u walk up to a counter to order and pay get ur own drink and then sit and they bring your food out. 13$ for a breakfast entree feels $$ for this setup without a waitress, BUT having said that the food was REALLY good. portions are small but i can tell care is taken with the presentation and seasoning of the foods

Trying it out!

I ordered the half biscuits and gravy on their super extensive menu and was knocked over by the flavor and size of the serving. Served quickly with a little fruit flourish, it was a cute plate in a quintessential mom n pop diner space. The walls are lined with local art, the ceiling is beautiful, and the staff is super accommodating when it comes to adjusting an order or doctoring your coffee (with flavor and additions) when the latte machine isn't working. (We crafted a pretty great bev together if I do say so myself.)

Such a cozy cafe. It reminds me of a slightly trendier mom & pop joint. The prices are reasonable & food is great. Not sure what the hash browns were seasoned with but it was delicious. The portions are a tad smaller than other breakfast/lunch places. I do prefer my coffee a bit stronger than what they served. Will be back!

Breakfast for lunch is always nice. They're happy to customize any order, and had lots of coffee drinks to choose from. Location is right on the square, and the staff were all friendly and helpful.

Cute place! You order at the counter and then they bring it to you. There's actually so many options and the breakfast comes with so many sides and I was so so so full. It was so delicious. I got the omelette. The potatoes are amazing. Everything was delicious. The decor is funky lol but atmosphere is great. Cute place. Will come back.

I enjoyed a latte, in a booth overlooking the historic town square. Ambiance is huge for me. Huey's had a comfy feel.

Biscuits and gravy were tasty. Quiche was excellent with breakfast potatoes and fruit.

Quiche was good. Need to order food & drinks @ counter. Employees let us stay for a while so we could catch up.

Come here and get breakfast! You won't be disappointed! I'm very picky about my biscuits and gravy but Huey's is the best!

Good breakfast, not great. Portions were on the smaller side. Service was fine, location was fine, nothing special to comment on.

Great food, great staff. A nice little gem on the Liberty square. Plenty to choose from and haven't gone wrong after several visits.

There are so many amazing coffee shops in the kansas city area, and every time I try a new one it…read morebecomes my favorite. This one was no exception, but I do believe it might remain the reigning champion. First of all it is a coffee shop in the basement of a church, and its name implies that it is religious. So the reviews that act surprised or give lower ratings for that reason are silly gooses. The ambiance is outstanding! It is a whole vibe. You are surrounded by books, some of the tables have pew seating, there is a kids area, they sell T shirts cheap ($7) and used books at an amazing deal. New books are priced as marked with regular retail pricing. I was shocked at the number if new hooks they had. The crowning jewel for me was they have natural house made (or local bought) syrups so you are not getting a run of the mill commercially based anything. I expected that to limit their menu but it didn't! I had the caramel crunch chai, hands down best chai I have ever tasted. I wanted to chug it. My friend loved her drink that had winter mint! I also splurged on a winter pomegranate spritz and cake pops to go. This is a coffee shop where you come in, slow down and enjoy the experience. I do not recommend this place if you want a quick coffee to go. The Barista was exceptional and she put time and effort into each drink. She did get backed up because she was all alone when a coworker called in and got slammed! She was clearly overwhelmed but never once rushed a conversation or made any of the customers feel like she didn't have time for them. Rare beauty in this rushed world we live in. She encouraged checking out the gorgeous sanctuary and stained glass windows upstairs in the sanctuary and shared stories about them. I never once felt like I was in a church basement- if that makes sense. It was warm, cozy and inviting. This is my new weekly spot! PS the kids area has a full tote of scrapbooking stuff, and the tables all have cards where you can write up a handwritten note and they send them of somewhere to spread joy and kindness. It does not get better than this.

The last I knew that the space had been an events / wedding hall, a B and B and vacant. Little did I know was that it had been reformed as an Anglican church and the coffee shop was being ran by the church in the basement. The vibe was just kinda weird...it's basically a cluttered Christian book store and gift shop serving coffee and sandwiches. The staff were polite but not very welcoming; I felt like I was intruding on a private function that didn't want me there. I took my Mocha Cream Breve' and went out on the patio for some views of the beautiful historic structure. When asked about their source for coffee beans, I was told "we get em from someplace in Arkansas". OK!?? I'm sure that some demographic here in the bible belt will find this basement quaint and charming, but it just gave me a desire to go spend my money at a more secular venue.

Luckily, led by store manager, Nellee, the team at this Liberty location went above and beyond in customer service to effectively communicate and deliver the last two Hello Kitty plush toys for my girlfriend. This store, the busiest in the area, was so kind and welcoming to my girlfriend and made sure that they delivered great hospitality and newly-dropped Peppermint Mocha magic for us and the constant flow of customers all morning long. I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank Nellee and the female-powered team at this location for going above and beyond during this particular visit. The store is light, bright and stocked with holiday cheer, able to handle the hustle and bustle of walk in and drive-thru traffic as we kick off this busy time of year. Our hot and cold Peppermint Mocha drinks were tasty and personalized with uplifting messages to start our day. Plenty of parking in a busy retail storefront location. Lots of table space, clean bathrooms and well-stocked merchandise items as well...only a few less Hello Kitty items.
