bacon sandwiches, pumpkin cheesecake latte, berry white mocha
    Casey D.

A very quaint cozy place. There's multiple options for seating inside and outside which I love, both sections are such a vibe. They have bathrooms which are outside as well. There's also a parking lot right next to the place that I didn't notice at first. Anyways, we got two of the bacon sandwiches, a berry white mocha, and a pumpkin cheesecake latte, both drinks are part of the specialty menu. The bacon sandwiches were actually quite filling, it had good bacon and a fluffy egg. It was pretty delicious. Both drinks were yummy, the flavors weren't too overpowering. If ordering both drinks and food, the food comes out way before the drinks fyi.

One of the two bathrooms. Super cute and clean!

I frequently get the breakfast sandwiches so today I got the turkey panini and added bacon. OMG it was so big! The grilled cheese was dwarfed by my sando. I only ate half and saved the rest for later. I also got the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake latte - I'm not a HUGE pumpkin fan so maybe the pizzazz was lost on me. It was yummy but I should have just stuck with a coffee and saved the calories for something else.

This small coffee shop is so cute and homey. The staff is nice and helpful. I got a vegetarian breakfast sandwich that was delicious! The matcha drink was okay (watered down). They have a small parking lot.

I got the hojicha cold brew & banana matcha. The drinks and great service. The shop is a bit small but they offer plenty of seating inside and outside! During the summer they have water mists outside so it's nice and cool.

This whole time I thought I had this place reviewed. What else can I say but it is a gem in Elk Grove . Parking could be a little tight but it's worth it. everything is very well priced and their portions are huge. Clean place as well . Very chill .

Tule Coffeehouse is the ideal relaxing shop often found in other places outside of EG; this is the end goal that many coffee chains strive to have but never achieve. There's a nice indoor area with tables and a couch, real plant vines hang from the ceiling. Through the many clean windows, EG Blvd. can be clearly viewed. There's a courtyard area on either side of the establishment that's well maintained with trimmed trees. There's space between the tables and it doesn't feel so crammed. Soft coffeeshop study music is playing in the background. The workers were friendly and the coffee came out fast even with a line but the sandwiches took over 20 minutes to come out. The coffee and food were at market prices; the sandwiches are larger than normal and easily shareable. Parking was easy thanks to the parking lot next door. The coffee was well balanced with many milk alternatives available and not overly sweet brown sugar or vanilla add-ons. The Turkey Panini was savory, the red bell peppers gave it a kick, and the bread was toasty. The Bacon (turkey) Breakfast sandwich was fluffy and It's refreshing to see this type of vibe in EG.

We got the turkey panini and bacon sandwich. They gave us the veggie panini by mistake and ended up giving us the turkey panini too. All the sandwiches were good but the bacon sandwich left a huge impact due to the fluffy eggs. The aioli they put on the sandwiches is amazing. One complaint is that they put so much arugula and some of them are uncooked so it's quite hard to chew and I ended up choking on some of them. Be prepared to wait for your sandwiches though. There's plenty of seatings inside and outside + lots of parking spaces. The cafe is super cute and they even have couches!

Don't let the line sway you away, it goes fast and any waiting you may experience is worth while. Small indoor space that can possibly house 15 seated people. It appears more crowded because people waiting for their TOGO/DINE IN orders are standing around in between spaces just so they don't miss their names to be called. Not sure if they have a buzzer system however during my visit today, it wasn't being used. Yay for 2 outdoor seating areas - dress for the weather :) I think you can bring your fur babies! If I can suggest anything to add to this beautiful coffee house is to have a designated waiting space/area. Ok..the VIBE? VERY WELCOMING with light decor and plants. Menu is simple and I would highly recommend their Panini Sandwiches - I had the pesto turkey - YUMMY. I had the dirty Chia Latte that didnt taste dirty at all lol and husband went with the vanilla latte which he said was delightful. He paired his coffee with the Bacon Breakfast Sandwich which was nicely presented and taste really good. They have pastries too which I may try next time. Self service water space. Will come again!

Stopped in to grab a chai latte & tried the veggie panini. It was really good loved the thinly sliced zucchini & sun-dried tomatoes. Super tasty. I like this more than the turkey panini. Chai latte was good too. Staff were friendly. Love their outdoor seating

I am so happy I stopped in this cute coffee shop!! Now I didn't get to try their drinks but I did their food and both my breakfast sandwich and my muffin were too notch. I got the bacon breakfast sandwich add avocado and within the first bite I knew I loved it. It was full of favor, great quality ingredients and they didn't skimp on adding the avocado either! Now it was $15 for the sandwich with the avocado but I was worth it! Overall a great spot. Would recommend!

First things first, I'm not a coffee drinker. I come to Tule for the breakfast sandwich and it is really, really good. The eggs are fluffy, the bacon crisp but not over cooked and the brioche bun is excellent. Topped with arugula, havarti and this fantastic garlic aioli - do your self a favor and stop by and try it.

09.06.2026 - Xulo Coffee Bar , Elk Grove, California…read more Sometimes, all you need is a good cup of coffee, something sweet, and a cozy place to sit for a while. That was exactly what I was looking for when I walked into Xulo Coffee Bar--a place where I could hopefully study, enjoy my coffee, and take in the atmosphere. I ordered an iced Mexican Mocha along with a Fruity Pebbles Concha, and honestly, it turned out to be such a satisfying pairing. The Mexican Mocha had that extra kick I was hoping for. The flavor was rich and deep with chocolate and cream, along with a subtle hint of cinnamon that gave it a warm, comforting finish. Even though I ordered mine iced, I couldn't help but imagine how perfectly the sweet pastry would pair with a hot Mexican Mocha on a cool morning. And the Fruity Pebbles Concha? Whatever you want to officially call it, the texture and taste reminded me of a concha with a fun and colorful twist. It was sweet, soft, and delicious--and paired wonderfully with my coffee. The café itself was full of life. It was packed with people, many of whom appeared to be enjoying brunch and spending time with friends and family. Latin music played in the background--the kind of music that makes you want to get up and dance a little salsa between sips of coffee. I came hoping to settle in and study for a while, although my search for a nearby outlet may have shortened my stay. But honestly, I didn't mind. Sometimes the best part of visiting a café isn't how long you stay--it's the experience you have while you're there. The staff was incredibly friendly, the café was spotless, and the atmosphere felt warm, welcoming, and full of energy. There was something about the music, the aroma of coffee, and the conversations happening around me that made the experience feel comforting and memorable. Xulo Coffee Bar is definitely a place I would return to. Whether you're looking for a flavorful coffee, a sweet treat, brunch, or simply a lively café to enjoy for a while, this is a spot worth checking out. I loved my experience here--and I have a feeling my next visit will include trying even more from the menu.

Our order included chilaquiles with extra avocado, avocado toast, two Mexican mochas, and pan de muerto. With tax and tip, we paid $64.32, so this was not a cheap breakfast. We paid at 11:21 a.m. My husband did not receive his chilaquiles until 12:07 p.m., and my avocado toast arrived at 12:10 p.m. (49 minutes later). While I was still waiting, the waiter said, "I'll be back with your waffles," even though I had ordered avocado toast with no egg. The chilaquiles and Mexican mochas were good. However, the avocado toast had absolutely no flavor, and the potatoes had no seasoning. I only ate them because I had paid for them. I understand that restaurants get busy, but at a minimum, staff should check in, acknowledge the delay, and reassure customers that they haven't been forgotten. Instead, we waited nearly 50 minutes with very little communication. The long wait, order confusion, lack of communication, and bland food made the overall experience disappointing, especially at this price. If you decide to go to Xulo, hold off on tip until after you receive your food and see how the service actually is on that day. Don't make the same mistake I made. For excellent chilaquiles and service, just go to Blue Agave!

This is a fair review…read more Mimi's is definitely a cozy spot with excellent staff, but quality can be hit or miss. I've been dining at Mimi's Cafe for many years, and while it still holds a lot of cozy charm, it's definitely a mixed bag now vs. 15-20 yrs ago. It was 5 stars back then. The Positives... *Friendly Staff: The service here is consistently warm, welcoming, and accommodating. *Cozy Ambience: The restaurant provides a great, comfortable atmosphere that is particularly relaxing and ideal for older adults. Tbh I have an old soul with some social anxiety. So Mimi's became an instant fav in my 20s for the ambience alone. *Great Brunch Selections: The menu offers a fantastic variety that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. It's truly all about the brunch at Mimi's! I don't think they could ever mess up a pancake, waffle, or French toast. *The muffins: Their muffins are unbeatable! So delicious and fresh. The Downsides... *Bland Flavors: Certain classic menu items have become a bit bland and lack the rich, robust taste they had 15 to 20 years ago. *High Price Point: For the quality you receive, the prices feels a bit too high. Plus they have done away with the free bread and carrot cake baskets. Although I believe they may still give you free bread, but you'll have to ask. *Timing Affects Quality: The timing of your order matters immensely. If you order a breakfast item during evening hours, parts of it might arrive tasting old, hard, and reheated. Recommendation:It remains a wonderful place for breakfast and brunch.

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!

Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

It's a great deal and made it easy to justify trying one of their signature comfort-food plates. Here's what I got: 4pc Broaster Chicken The Broaster chicken dinner was the standout and easily my favorite part of the dinner. The four-piece meal is regularly priced at $19.99 and comes with a choice of side, plus garlic toast or cornbread, along with a salad. The chicken arrived golden, crispy, and exactly how broasted chicken should be--moist inside with a crunchy exterior that tasted fresh, not greasy. I chose the mashed potatoes as my side and they were creamy with chunks of potato whipped within. They were topped with country gravy, turning these spuds into full-on comfort food. The cornbread was a large, satisfying portion; the whipped butter and honey on top rounded it out nicely and made it feel like a classic diner treat. Vegetable and Salad The vegetable side was the one miss on the plate. The zucchini, broccoli, squash and carrots seemed to be steamed and were noticeably overcooked and sitting in water, which made them soggy. The side salad, on the other hand, was solid. I opted for blue cheese dressing, which tasted like it was made in-house and added a lot of flavor. There were a few pieces of lettuce with brown edges that I just removed, but overall the salad was fresh enough and a nice way to start the meal. Service was friendly from the moment we walked in. We were greeted right away, offered a choice of a booth or table, and seated quickly, even though it was senior night and the discount window can draw a crowd. The interior looks and feels like a classic diner: red accents, country-style decor on the walls, a TV with the news playing, and a front counter where you pay as you leave. Near the entrance there's a pie case showing off their desserts--in particular, an apple pie that looked very tempting and is on my list to try next time. Overall, Original Mike's Diner delivers satisfying diner food, warm service, and a straightforward, old-school atmosphere, with the Broaster chicken and sides carrying the experience. The overcooked veggies keep it from being a perfect visit, but the generous senior discount and friendly staff make this an easy 4-star spot I'm happy to return to--especially on Thursday nights.
