The one I tried wasn't cake, nor was it melt-soft like Krispy. It has a sort of fried chew that, to me, is just what I love! Not sweet either. A nice balance of fried, chew, sweet & the glaze was a nice flavor. I will crave this, which is why I looked them up right away & snapped pics to remind me where to go. Lattes are available hot and cold and with a variety of milk choices. I got a hot "LavLove" latte (lavender and vanilla) with whole milk. It was ready quickly and I was pleasantly surprised - the taste was delicate and floral but not overpowering, and there was no bitterness at all from the espresso. I look forward to making this a regular treat, and I will definitely be back to check out the breakfast sandwiches and bakery items.
