We were recently in the area picking up a new (but actually not new at all--very vintage) bicycle at South Shore Cyclery and decided to pick up some lunch in the area, which brought us to La Crema. What a cute spot! The dining area was impeccably clean (and we were there on a holiday weekend). Our party of four was able to be seated straight away. It looks like they are most known for their breakfast items, but they do have a lovely lunch menu as well. I ordered their veggie melt, which was served on sourdough and tasted a bit like a veggie philly. It was delicious. For my side, I got their french fries which were thick cut, crispy, and delicious. Worth a five-star for the area. I arrived at 10:40AM on Saturday and the waiting line was really long. Luckily since I was alone I got seated right away at the bar. I saw some people brought their books and ate while reading quietly at the bar, while others who came with families or friends chatted happily in the table area - just made you feel really good about this place. I got a La Crema omelette w fruits and pancakes. I am not an omelette fan but this one looked really good to me. And it didn't disappoint me. Avocado, bacon and slightly spicy jalapeño... very flavorful. The fruits were fresh and actually a lot for a side. The pancakes were fluffy and yummy - they served warm syrup and I liked that! My only suggestion is that since they just opened, be prepared to wait as the service could be slow when they are busy. Food is always good, and comes out fast! On Saturday and Sundays there is usually a wait but if you can get there early it usually not terrible. I really like their french toast! Located south of Milwaukee, this eclectic building is home to a wonderful breakfast lunch spot for you, a date, family, or catching up with old friends. This review is based off of a to go order. My sister and a friend went for breakfast and I was the lucky beneficiary of a carry out order. I had the carnivore skillet which I found to be quite delicious and filling. The ham was delicious and the skillet potatoes were well seasoned, my over easy egg was done perfectly to my liking. With the skillet, you have your choice of pancakes or toast. Since it was carry out, I went with the pancakes to reheat and eat later in the day. Pancakes reheated well. Only complaint was that they tasted quite eggy to me. I'd for sure go back and likely choose the toast with my skillet. read more

Food was properly cooked, service was fast and the ambiance was an older historic building. Beautiful architecture, accessible parking. I had a waffle with bacon and two eggs sunny side up. The egg yolks were runny and the whites were firm as they should be, plus they handed me a bottle of maple syrup that was warm which helped melt the butter and it was the perfect way to start the day. Looks pretty large on the outside, but it's rather small and quaint inside. The menu is kinda pedestrian but it has a lot of the usual breakfast staples. There was a long wait on Saturday but that's surely expected on most breakfast / brunch parlors. This concept is increasingly popular for people who just want to start their weekend off "out n about", especially post-COVID. The corned beef hash was crunchy for some reason and the eggs Benedict just weren't cooked right, they were nearly hard boiled in their consistency. Service was good, though, and attentive. Overall very underwhelming. Side note, I'd also vote to remove the "main" picture... as it's kinda meh and insofar as avocado toast, that's fairly underwhelming as a representation. read more

We knew this building changed ownership a while ago and we are happy to report Cudahy has a new delicious breakfast and lunch spot! We were very happy with our first visit. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I'd say the only improvement this restaurant could make is to hire a real barista and get an espresso machine for lattes, cappuccinos, etc. The stuffed French toast was delicious (although not really stuffed - why do restaurants put that on the menu when the cream cheese filling is drizzled on top?! Great place! Went for breakfast with my wife. I had "La Crema" omelette and she had the "Chilaquiles" breakfast. We also enjoyed some pancakes. No skimping on servings! WOW! This was my first time at La Crema and we were stunned by how amazing everything was. Our server Larisa was so pleasant, kind, and attentive. The outside of the restaurant is GORGEOUS as well as the inside. My bbq chicken wrap was TO DIE FOR! I had it with their broccoli cheddar soup which was thick and creamy. My mom had the chilaquiles which were flavorful with a nice kick! Immediately upon walking in we were impressed with the modern décor and the energetic staff. It looked like a quality operation. The food we viewed walking through looked pretty good, too. Unfortunately we had a mixed bag for ourselves. My wife liked her Nutella crepes but I thought the batter was too thick & grainy to be a crepe (there was a nice hint of cinnamon in the batter) and it was only drizzled with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas; nothing was inside. Meanwhile my ham skillet was a disaster. First, one of my over easy eggs was well done so I returned it right away. Instead of merely replacing one egg, they plopped on two under cooked eggs and broke one of the yokes. I know it easy to ruin breakfast food, but you should not serve it. Rather than complain again I tried eating it, but the peppers were undercooked yet burned, potatoes were mushy, and bits of burned onions ruined any flavor. I didn't finish it. read more

I love that the new owners kept the historic building mostly intact. It's been given a spruce-up and a clean-up and it looks great. I've been here a few times now and the food has been good!
