I'm very surprised by negative reviews for this restaurant. It's consistently good in all areas, in my opinion. Service - Great service, every single time. I usually get served by a younger guy, but have had a few other servers from time to time. They have all been great. Friendly, attentive. No complaints. Food - Fresh and hot. It's a diner, so I'm not expecting them to reinvent the wheel. I am getting exactly what I'm expecting and it's been great every time. Price - More than fair. I'm spending under $30 for two coffees and two meals. That is a steal in Bay View. Environment - Relaxed and always clean. I've been there several times a year for the past few years, but not enough to be a regular. I am always treated well as a walk in customer. This is a great restaurant. We continue to love Landmark. It opens early, has a nice variety of breakfast options from skillets, omelets to traditional two egg breakfast meals and breakfast sandwiches. I usually go with a skillet or an omelet myself. Today I had the meat lovers skillet, sausage, bacon and ham mixed with hashbrowns peppers and cheese topped with over easy eggs. Coffee is plentiful with staff regularly checking on refills. This place is seat yourself, at least early on weekend morning it is. You pay at the register on your way out. read more

What a charming little restaurant! We stopped in for breakfast before heading to the airport and were so glad we did. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and our server was incredibly kind and attentive. Since we were in a hurry, we ordered our breakfast sandwiches to go, and we were impressed by how quickly everything was prepared without sacrificing quality. The sandwiches were fresh, delicious, and exactly what we needed before our travels. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable, making this an even better experience. My experience at Landmark was just okay. It's a standard diner, nothing too unique about it. It's a little outdated and run down on the inside, could use some upgrades. I tried the Monte Cristo sandwich which was decent. Service was good, food arrived quickly. I don't think I would come back, both my sister and I suspect we got food poisoning from here. A nearby restaurant that I tried to stop at first for breakfast didn't work out, so I called in an order for pickup at Landmark Family Restaurant on my way to work. My order consisted of a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant and two pancakes. The croissant is huge. The bacon was nice and crispy and all of the components had moments to shine. I prefer a wrap/burrito since they're easier to eat on the go, but I wouldn't be opposed to getting the croissant again. As a note, the croissant is $9 (as of 5/2/2023) and doesn't come with a side. The pancakes were a decent size, fluffy, and had a hint of sweetness without using syrup. That said, I didn't think the stack of two was necessarily worth $7 without toppings or sides of meat like bacon or sausage, so I'd probably pass on them next time. read more

I was not impressed by the food. Ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich and it was soggy with ham and turkey, though turkey doesn't belong in a Monte Cristo. Also no powdered sugar or preserves which is how the sandwich is usually served. Onion rings were good. Soup was commercially prepared, not homemade or fresh. Service was minimal, waitress took order and delivered food and we didn't see her again until we asked for the check, to which she gave us napkins. So I was in here a little bit after they re-opened up and I believe I had a landmark burger. I always try the burgers. This was my first time, and I think it was my fiancé's second time. Of course she had been there drinking back in the day and it is one of the oldest places around in Milwaukee. I had a nice time here the server, who was a young man Was pretty decent. He could've been a little bit faster on getting the refills handy for us but got the job done and I guess it just so happened that we were adjacent to someone who had a history with the place apparently there were some pictures of their grandfather on the walls and they didn't know the information that I was looking up about the place on it so I'm glad I could be informative. read more

We stopped by this neighborhood diner spot for brunch last weekend and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We got the eggs & meat & pancakes along with a cup of coffee. Seemed like a lot of the guests knew each other and their servers too giving to place a true neighborhood feel. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The service is adequate. The food "Seafood Platter" wa sso overcooked that the clam strips were hard crisps, the fish(I'm assuming cod) was cooked until it was a shriveled up remnant inside a shell of breading. Horrible service and treatment by manager. He walked right past us more than once, but would ask other patrons if they wanted more coffee but would not ask our table. Food was nothing remarkable. Made you feel like something is wrong with you!! Lmao when really it's him that has a preference to who he wants to cater to. This is a hole in the wall neighborhood restaurant that is either going to be totally awesome or horrible. They serve breakfast all day and a good assortment of burgers plus dinner entrees. I ordered the Greek salad and added chicken and a cup of soup. The soup was very good. Lots of regulars here. The kind of place with folks who come in every day. . Soooo happy there is a still a diner around in the neighborhood! I've come here several times for breakfast only with my husband and I love it! Most of the time, I don't want the hip, trendy brunch spots on the weekends and just want a typical diner these days. I love the 'diner' sounds here with forks clinging, plates coming out of the dishwasher, coffee pouring, the random kid crying, (haha, not my favorite) and lots of chatter. I've tried 2 eggs over medium with sausage links and wheat toast. So simple and so good! My husband had the same thing, but added a pancake. I've also tried the gyro omelet with feta cheese and wheat toast. It came with tzatziki sauce and was delicious. I decided to get sliced tomatoes instead of the hash browns. I think it's a good call so you won't get too full and sluggish. I do wish to have faster coffee refills. Once in awhile the refills are a little slow. It's a typical diner, not updated, but it is clean! It will probably be busy for breakfast, but they have additional seating if you don't mind being at the bar. We never had to wait longer then 5-7 minutes or so for 2 people. Give this place a try, you might have a new go to diner! read more

We decided to come here on a Sunday for brunch. Overall it was a good experience. Parking is on the street. When you walk in, you're supposed to find a seat. The girl who was working the cash register seemed confused by us standing up front. We did not realize we could sit ourselves and it was pretty packed. A boy came over and helped us find some decent seats. Our waiter was really friendly and soft spoken. Service was pretty quick too. It's your typical diner food. There were quite a lot of options, I really wasn't sure what route I wanted to go; breakfast, lunch or dinner. I opted to get a ham and cheese croissant. I have to say that I loved it! It was very simple, but good. It's all I ordered, but I think next time I'll try something else. My ex-wife ordered a croissant as well and also a Rueben. She loved the Rueben but I thought it was mediocre. But I don't love them to begin with, so judging this sandwich wouldn't be fair. So you order and decide. Walking in here makes me feel like no matter what trends come and go in dining the one thing that will never die is the All American Diner!!! Landmark is just what you're looking for if you want a hearty breakfast and aren't interested in the pretentious frills that come with weekend "brunching" nowadays. The service is quick, the hot coffee is ever flowing , and the omelets are as big as your face...what more does one need on a Saturday morning?? I ordered a veggie omelet(came with four pieces of toast and a generous serving of hash browns) and my boyfriend got biscuits and gravy(seven biscuits SWIMMING in a plate of gravy and sausage...just an FYI) with a side of hash browns. We left satisfied, stuffed, and sluggish only an hour later. We were seated so quickly and our food order came out promptly from the kitchen, it was really impressive considering how busy the place was. I didn't feel in any way rushed, but the place just seems like it is efficiently run. OH and I shouldn't forget the best part...our total for this feast tapped in just over $20 with tip. We went to emo night last night. I thought I would feel better so I drank some cold water, but it didn't do nothing.I then laid in the bathtub for a while, but then I realized that it was my lil tum tum that was making me set set. So I went in the landmark and ordered some coffee. I decided to bring this homeless man inside with me. I Rate this place a solid 4 stars. I am a huge breakfast guy and I have visited Landmark several times. Their food is average to slightly about average. I feel like that lack 2 things. 1) a really great breakfast item on their menu... something that really stands out.. a signature dish.. 2) average hot cakes... In fact all of the Bayview area lacks a really good breakfast place.. I still think build a breakfast.. aka build a burger is the best around here. So, it isn't fancy, and it's not really a place that the skinny-jeaned, ironic-glasses wearing Hipster crowd has glommed onto, but they have a decent breakfast on the cheap. Our waitress was nice, and we saw other families from our neighborhood there too. We spent less than $12 for two full breakfasts and coffee. If you are looking for locally sourced farm raised anything in a bed of trendy, don't eat here. It is just good food for a good price. I went here for breakfast. The crowd was older with regulars all over. I got the feeling that it's a neighborhood hang out. The interior was dated with the wall paper missing in places. My server was working the whole room and handling everyone like a boss. I opted for the eggs, hash browns, sausage, toast and a side of ham. My food came quick. First off the ham was the fake kind and not off the bone. My sunny side eggs looked good but we're a little over cooked on the bottom. Toast options were generic white, wheat etc. The hash browns were really good. The sausage links were tasty. Over all it was a decent breakfast and I can see why the regulars hang out here. If I lived in the neighborhood I would frequent here but this was quest to try all of the greater Milwaukee breakfast places around. read more

My new neighborhood diner!!! Just moved into the Bay View area and lovin' the new hood. I've gone to Landmark twice already with 2 different friends. I've had a breakfast meal and a lunch meal. They were both very tasty, non-greasy, and as they advertise "home cooked". The service is efficient and courteous. The prices are very very affordable. The diner is clean with booths and that "diner" feel. Need to mention that my friends enjoyed the food and atmosphere as well. Found this place while driving on Kinikiniknick Kinikinick Kinikinknick. ? Anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. Greeting right away, took a booth, and my waiter, Merced, was fantastic. didn't bug me, but was always there when I needed something. I had the scrambled with ham. Sometimes at diners the ham is just thin sliced pieces. This was a steak. Deeeeelicious! Coffee was excellent. Lots of street parking. Really, all in all, a very nice experience. A couple of reviews said "nothing special." But I would come back here any time I was near the South Side and was hongry. So why not a five? I've never given a five. I would have to "can't wait to come back" feeling. So......If this restaurant was anywhere near my house, I'd be here every day. read more

Slightly hungover me ended up at this happy place this morning. And boy, did I love it. In a ten minute period, I'd downed a cup of coffee, they refilled it, I drank that one, and they refilled it again. My date made a comment about it. Whoops. But they warmed his up each time as well. Perhaps it was a little weak? I just like hot drinks in the morning! Whatever. So suffice to say the service was great. They were very attentive, also filled our waters promptly (yay!), and asked, unsolicited, if we needed any ketchup or hot sauce. And there were several choices--from tabasco to sriracha. We came around nine on Saturday, and it was pretty full. Still, we got seated after only a few minutes. Once we'd ordered, the food took maybe 15 minutes. He was getting hangry, but I was fine. And the food was delightful. And, well, there was so much of it. I got eggs benny, he got a skillet. Neither of us finished, and both of us took home at least half. (Haha, isn't it nice when you get to where you can comfortably take home leftovers? Yaaas, haha). My eggs benny? YUM. Absolutely bathed in hollandaise and huge amounts of ham. I'm not the biggest fan of ham, but I guess y'all Wiscos are really into huge hunks of meat. So probably you'll be happy. And I guess realistically, I didn't complain. Who's going to fuss about huge hunks of meat? ;) Paid ~24 with tip for two coffees and two brekkies. I'm a happy girl. You should go, too. Because you too, can be happy. read more
