I am a long time fan of cafe loft. The drinks taste great and the food too, but unfortunately the WiFi never works. If a customer is paying upwards of $8-10 for a drink, then the WiFi needs to work, especially since this is a working cafe. I'm also not sure why they still charge a dollar to make your hot tea, iced. I would like to understand why I'm getting charged an extra dollar to make my genmai matcha iced. I came here on a Tuesday evening to work on my research. The barista was very welcoming and recommended me to get the pesto chicken sandwich. It was fresh and yummy. I loved the dark, moody vibe at this cafe. It is located in Koreatown not far from the Wiltern theatre. After I placed my order, I learned there was a second floor which I found really cool and interesting. There were people sitting up there with their laptops. This place was open until 10pm. I ordered the charcoal latte with oat milk. It was strong and delicious! The coffee flavor was vibrant and I loved the latte art. My friend got the Americano and that was solid too. Service was good. I got the vacalat iced coffee, it was pretty tasty. It wasn't really anything special, but it was sweet and tasted good. When I was leaving, I got the lemonade which was sooooo tasty! Maybe a silly thing to order at a coffee place, but it was really, really good lemonade. I got my partner an iced matcha -- it was actually kind of gross, I would not recommend it. The employee I spoke with was very friendly, and answered my questions with ease. They bring the drinks to you, even to their upstairs loft. The layout is also really cool! The front is almost parlor-style, with an open space to the counter and some tables and chairs around. There was a little patio -- I didn't get to check it out because they were having an event, but it was spacious and decorated really nicely. Side note, the hallway is very narrow and leads to upstairs, outside, and the bathroom which was tight... The big star of the show was the loft of course! It's a lovely space. read more

Second time coming here. Went Sunday around 4pm, pretty busy inside, a lot of people doing work and studying. Very beautiful inside, dark warm and welcoming. Downstairs seating and upstairs seating. They recently did renovations, redid the kitchen and downstairs seating. Parking: public parking in the back, $3 every 15min, $21 max. Or street meter parking. Since the store was recently renovated they had a limited menu available including some teas, coffees, sandwiches and waffles. They didn't have any menus available with options besides it saying "tea" Or "sandwich" so I asked the young man what kind of sandwiches and we got the ham and cheese. It seems that he was really lost and didn't know what they had to offer so he kept asking which I don't mind it was just funny. I also asked what kind of fruity refreshing drink he took a while to recommend a passion berry tea. So we ordered that. The tea had no sugar or sweetness, you can definitely taste the tea tea leaves that were brewed in there but it would be nice to have it at least a little sweet. So we asked for some sugar but the sugar packets didn't really do it justice. The sandwich was mid, good amount of meat and tasted fine nothing special, bread was hard. The ice cream waffle is why we came back, super fresh and warm with delicious ice cream and whip cream. They have chocolate vanilla and strawberry ice cream but you can put two on the waffle. Service was fine, the ladies there were very nice and sweet but the young men seemed like they didn't want to be there haha. We were looking for boba but the place was closed so we wandered into this place. You're instantly hit by the delicious smell of cake and coffee. There is seating spread out in the front of the cafe, an enclosed back patio and stairs lead you to the appropriately named loft with a balcony overseeing the front of the cafe. The seats are comfy and it feels like you're in a restaurant more than a cafe. It very much feels like a welcoming place to study or work. There is a generously sized parking lot which I did not check if it's shared with the other businesses that are beside the Loft Cafe. We didn't try any food because we had a buffet for lunch, but I got the Vienna Coffee and to my surprise it's topped with ice cream. My friends also enjoyed their drinks, the matcha latte, milk tea and hot chocolate for the kid. read more

Loft cafe is probably my favorite coffee shop in Los Angeles. The atmosphere is amazing and it's such a calm place to work. The staff are always kind and attentive. I've been coming here for years and it has never let me down. The drinks are always great and so are the desserts and food. For drinks, I'd recommend a hot chai tea latte when it's cold, and a blueberry lemonade in the summer. For desserts, the cheesecake is really good, and I'd recommend the pesto chicken sandwich for something more filling. The only downside would be the lack of outlets and limited parking spaces. Parking on the side of 6th street going east. Or street parking with meters. The Loft located right on the corner of Oxford and 6th. You walk in and it's just a vibe above of relaxation with many minds either working or school work. Staff is super friendly and thank you to the tips on the coffee. Blue mint coffee (cold) was amazing! Not so sweet it tastes like a mint chocolate chip ice cream melted. It was beautiful. Strawberry milk cream donut thing was fluffy fresh and just perfect for my taste buds it wasn't sweet at all and with coffee to drool for. The tiramisu was good I like the strong coffee cost on top. I really liked the vibe of this place - the ambiance, the decor, and the seating were all very nice! It had a good variety of common and unique drinks as well. I got the charcoal latte, which was quite tasty. It didn't have the most prominent coffee flavor, but it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet either. The basque cheesecake was a real standout and was probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. The guy that served my friends and I was also very nice, patient, and helpful. I was torn between the charcoal and dalgona latte, and he helped me decide the drink based on what I've enjoyed in the past. I'm honestly shocked by the semi-low reviews... this place is incredible. It's one of the more beautiful, clean. spacious and overall just nice cafes I've been to in LA, especially in K-town. I always find myself fighting for space at the coffee shops here, but I felt so comfortable at Loft. A plus up, the back patio is DOG FRIENDLY I'd say if you plan to visit, let it be for the coffee and maybe for a little laptop/working/reading moment. I wouldn't make this your sole breakfast plans, although the waffle we had was delicious. The guy that made our coffees brought did a fun pour over right in front of us for my dalgona. That said, I recommend getting the dalgona latte iced if you like sweet and the charcoal latte hot if you like something more subtle. read more

I I'll never return to this place, and it honestly hurts to say that. I used to come during the week to get work done and always bought something. It felt like a welcoming space -- until today. I had just finished a quick meeting when a staff member came up to me, rude and aggressive, and told me I needed to buy something or leave. I was shocked. I said, "Dang, that's crazy -- I buy something every time." I pulled out my wallet and headed to the register. As I walked over, she claimed I always come in and never buy anything. That's simply not true. I've bought coffee, food -- I have receipts. But when I got to the register, she refused to serve me, saying it was because of my "attitude." I was calm. All I did was defend myself. And I've seen people sit in there for hours without buying anything, yet I was the one called out. Honestly, I believe it was because I'm Black. When I brought that up, she got defensive, tried to deflect -- the typical reaction of someone who doesn't understand or care about how their bias shows up. I supported this place with my time and money, and to be treated like this was deeply disappointing and humiliating. read more

Finally made it in the other day. Parking was a breeze, as there's a lot right next door. And yes, when we stepped inside the decor was adorbs! Very cool, unique vibe. Customers in there all seemed to be studying/on laptops. There were plenty of sitting spaces on the ground floor as well as tables up in their loft seating area. That's kind of where the positives stopped. Service was really, really bad. The lady working behind the counter said something in Korean and I told her I didn't speak- after that she turned around, started making a drink for another customer and ignored me for 4 minutes. Right when I decided to walk it she turned around and asked me what I wanted to order. My daughter wanted a raspberry latte and Turkey sandwich, so that's what I ordered. No thank you, no response at all- just a bad vibe and bad service. So we ended up waiting about 15 minutes. Looking around I started to notice that everything up close was kind of old and sad- the table we sat at was water stained and warped, The ledges and deco were dusty... things just seemed kinda sad and tired. Then we got the latte. It was pretty average- your typical house latte with too much torani raspberry syrup. But the $10 Turkey sandwich- Oh my God... It was a complete joke! Cheap wheat bread, like a step above wonder bread cheap with processed cheese and Turkey lunch meat. The salad looked like it was straight out of the bag topped with a cheap tasting bottled dressing. It was literally your basic home lunch or something you send your kid off to school with- a major disappointment that other Yelpers have also written about.
