We wanted to come here since we moved to ABQ but for some reason, we came here on Sundays when they are closed... Finally, we could come here on a weekday for brunch! Their Lush bacon is so good that you have to try it! Also, their home made green chile is the best one in NM so far. Very flavorful and it compliments the food. Stopped by for my first time to have lunch. Outside sidewalk seats and small inside, close proximity seating. The two servers I had were both great and knowledgeable. I only have been here once, so I can't say that I am a fan yet. I would definitely go back and see if it's consistent. Found this place while doing a Google search of "best brunch" in ABQ. The place is tiny, and has maybe 10 tables at most. We went around 1:30 and the place was packed. No places to sit. We waited about 10 minutes to order at the counter. Apparently there are waitstaff but they had all been sent home because it was slow. Not the case now... Menu was interesting with many choices, moderately priced, and fun sandwich names. The "Lushaladas" (enchiladas) seemed to be very popular. I decided on the Mo, which was grilled eggpland, onions, mushrooms, peppers served open-faced on a focaccia bread. Very delish and also came with a slaw that was delightful. Not your normal cabbage and carrots. It was oranges, celery, jicima and a great dressing. The fresh pastries on the counter seemed to be a fan favorite as well. Not sure if they are made in house but looked very good. Place was clean, and food was good. Very crowded. We were here for the Saturday brunch and the food was marginal. We ordered the Benedict and the club lush sandwich. The egg was poorly poached on the Benedict and the sandwich was just a plain sandwich with deli meat and lettuce piles. We had the mochas and these were the best part of our meal here, otherwise there is nothing special to their food. Would not return or recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have enjoyed brunch a few times and lunch a couple times too, and have truly enjoyed everything I had. Breakfast pizza is a favorite, with a crust of hash browns and excellent and spicy red and green sauces topped with two perfectly cooked eggs. The lushilada is another favorite, enchiladas topped with an egg and a side of hash browns. The Mo, and one of the pizzas were also quite tasty. The restaurant is quite small but there is outdoor seating, and the hours are restricted so you have to plan a trip to this totally worthwhile restaurant for their creative and tasty offerings. read more

Great little place to eat. I came in for the first time and the they had their brunch menu. I had the omelet with bacon, spinach and mushrooms. The meal was hot and tasted very fresh. My meal included hash browns, toast and there was a side of fruit all so yummy AND the meal came with my choice of beverage for all under $13... Two thumbs up for me. the food really attempted to be very good. The "Chop Salad" i got was kind of a mess of really good ingredients, too much piled together on the plate, with very little resembling "Salad". They coulda done well to add a LOT more greenery and spread their delicious ingredients around a bit, hence really providing extra eating value to the eater. The Thin Crust pizza was pretty good, but they could only muster up the name "Boody", which I found genocidely insignificant, as they have a Papa Doc sandwich, and I am looking forward to the following menu additions: Saddami and Cheese Pol Pot Pie Mussilinguini AraFatBoy Sub Milosovissichoise KimChiJongiIl Any other suggestions would probably be appreciated. Lush is a FAVORITE! My girlfriends and I try to meet at least 2 times monthly for lunch and Lush is our place! Urban ambiance, great service and food is delish! My norm is the Papa Doc....it's a treat for me as I do not eat bacon! Or the pizza! Everything I have had is great; these are my 2 favs. I took my visiting girlfriend for Sunday brunch in October. AMAZING! The Lush Benedict is hands down....One of the BEST I have ever had. Just a hint of red chile in the hollandaise atop of the perfectly cooked eggs atop of the spinach and focaccia! Cannot say enough...YUMMMMMY! Prices are very reasonable and parking is easy. I agree....this place puts the "trendy" places to shame! If you want a mimosa with your brunch, you'll just have to have one AFTER brunch! The brunch is worth it! read more

When I go to a restaurant in Albuquerque I usually expect decent food, but I expect service to be mediocre at best. I was blown away by both the food and the service. St. Gregory burger medium with chips. Not only was I full but the taste was out of this world. I asked the server for his recommendation and wasn't disappointed. He was hands down the best server I've had all year. Unfortunately I can't remember his name, but, as a man with a healthy beard, his was quite nice. I will make sure to ask for him every time I eat there, which I hope is often. read more

I have walked by this place so many times and finally stopped in and now I have to contain my excitement about how wonderful it is and not go every night! I had the lushiladas, which are stacked enchiladas with an egg on top. They were AMAZING. They have vegetarian options and will even do vegan with such things like rice milk cheese! I went with a friend of mine who knew this place. What a gem waiting to be discovered. The food was delicious. I had a good salad and cup of curried cauliflower soup. I could've eaten a bowl. The best part was homemade ice cream. my friend got a basil lime sorbet and I got a ginger ice cream. Both were exquisite and such original flavor. Called ahead and ordered a salad. I did inform them that I was Celiac and went through all the questions making sure it was "safe" to eat. I was reassured that it was safe! Picked up my food, opened to check the salad and asked once again if there was absolutely NO GLUTEN. Again I was reassured. Got to the office, began eating and had an allergic reaction immediately! We asked Chef Tom and Sandy if we could have our wedding celebration at Cafe Lush, and they could not possibly have been more accommodating - on a Saturday afternoon, after they and their staff had already put in a full day of work. We had a few of their abnormally splendid "normal" dishes, and Chef Tom invented others for us -- including a gluten free carrot cake which was just incredible. They and their staff were wonderful hosts, providing drinks outside for those who arrived early while they set up for the meal, and then re-arranging tables and chairs as needed. Now, the only challenge is that we still have not gone through their entire menu - so we'll be back! read more

I have patronized the Cafe Lush since they opened -- about three years ago. The food is great and the ambience is charming. Recently, My husband and I had breakfast at the Cafe Lush and paid with a debit card. The amount of the bill should have been $28.36 -- instead the waitress made a mistake and charged us $283.36. I caught the mistake immediately (I did not sign the receipt) and was told my account would be credited and I would only be charged for the correct amount. Guess what? My account was charged for $283.36 and when I went back to the restaurant to try to straighten it out -- I was treated with a very dismissive, condescending tone. I was left to deal with this problem and my bank on my own. What a mess! I will not be returning to the Cafe Lush, and I would suggest that anyone else who does patronize this business be very, very careful. read more

I'm visiting Albuquerque, and I'm very impressed with the quality of the food at Cafe Lush as well as the progressive attention to creating high quality locavore foods in a way that is inclusive toward people who cannot consume gluten. I had a delicious breakfast of coffee, eggs, breakfast potatoes, and gluten-free toast, and had a hard time choosing off a menu on which literally every item is available gluten free. What an incredible treat, and so progressive. I think I'll be spending a lot of time here during my five days in town. In my view this establishment is a paragon of progressive dining. The lunch menu also offers every item available in gluten-free form. These options include all the sandwiches, wraps, French toast, and other things that so few restaurants bother to transform into a gluten-free option. Those of us who cook gluten-free routinely at home recognize that it's not that hard to do.I give huge points to Cafe Lush and the food was delicious. read more

Yum! I've been here twice--once for brunch and once for lunch, and this sweet little place is one of my new favorites. First off, the coffee is fantastic, and they keep it coming. For brunch I had the Lush Benedict, which was great--I love that they came with spinach instead of ham, but they still felt indulgent. My boyfriend had the Lushaladas, which I got to try, and man were they tasty! My next trip was with my boss for lunch. I was tempted to get the Lushaladas, but my boyfriend had mentioned that the Chop Salad was really good, and I was in the mood for something lighter, so I ordered a half salad, half soup combo. The soup was Butternut Squash Coconut, and was good, if not the best I've ever had. The salad was the perfect balance--light, but still enough of a meal to be satisfied. My boss got an open-face pear sandwich with coleslaw, both of which she really enjoyed. Can't wait to come back for more! read more
