Super cute restaurant, loved the ambiance! The decor was great and especially the lighting. I came by myself for a late lunch and got a spot at the bar with no wait. Ordered the moroccan eggs with merguez sausage, it came really quick and it was delicious. The poached eggs were yummy and the zaatar pita was a great touch.
We stopped by here over the holiday weekend, and we were seated almost immediately. The service staff was super attentive about ensuring you get water refilled and that you can place your order. I ordered the chicken kabob sandwich, and I thought the highlight was really the fries.
Reservation recommended! Dined on a Monday afternoon and it was packed, waited about 20 mins for a table. Quick and friendly service. The non alcoholic drinks were great, so was their special cardamom hot toddy! For app we got the halloumi I which was a small portion, very tasty! They offer a breakfast & lunch menu till 4 I had the chicken kabob entree which came with rice and cabbage, it was the perfect lunch portion. Chicken was very juicy. My friend has the falafel sandwich and fries, the fries needed to be crispier, falafel was good. The Moroccan eggs were not spicy at all as listed on menu but they were good, a lighter portion. By 5pm the restaurant had cleared out. Nice ambiance, beautiful enclosed patio area in the back. Seats in front while you wait and ample seating at bar.
What a cute fun place! There is a patio area in the back that was enclosed. They also had a bar. Only two stalls for restroom so there was a wait each time. Reservation definitely recommended for the restaurant, but waitlist wasn't too bad. We put our name on a list and waited about 20 min. I came here for a girls brunch with two of my friends. We ordered coffee, two mocktails drinks and the cardamom hot toddy, which were really good. For an app, the table got halloumi, which as a small portion, but tasty. My friend ordered the chicken kebab entree, which is really enjoyed and was a large portion. My other friend ordered the falafel pita and fries. The fries were seasoned nicely but could have been crispier. She liked the pita and falafel. I ordered the Moroccan eggs with beef and lamb sausage. It was not spicy at all as mentioned on the menu. It was good but tasted like poached eggs in tomato sauce. Gluten free bread was good and the potatoes were crispy.
Oh my gosh. A place my teen who doesn't like med-style anything approves of!! And a place I've loved for two decades. Winnn. I hope to intro him to tagine but we stuck w a trusty merguez. I got a lamb bowl. Service was great. I had fresh OJ and coffee. Ambiance, decor, and service all A+ in my book. This location was also conveniently near a state park. So perfect for this mom-of-teen. Life ain't easy but this visit was a highlight of the dreary June day. Also had gluten-free options for my ever picky tummy.
My wife and I love coming here for our monthly brunch date after dropping off our kid. The space is large and can accommodate a last minute reservation. The food is flavorful and consistently good. She loves their shakshuka and I enjoy their pita, spreads, falafel.
I came here with friends for a casual dinner. The location is ideal and the space is warm, dark, and friendly. The staff is super friendly and they made lots of great recommendations. We ordered a bunch of food to share and I enjoyed the majority of the food but none it it wowed me. The food was great and consistent across the board, there wasn't anything that was terrible but there wasn't anything that was a standout either. I would come back and try other options.

Beautiful everything. The food presentation, the decor, the outdoor patio, the drinks, even the bathroom! The food was very good but portions are small. Definitely order one more dish than you think you need. However, each dish is well made and tasty, and looks so nice! The inside dining area can be noisy, especially on the weekends. However the outdoor patio looked Alittle more peaceful. We had a great experience and would come back (but expect to pay above average prices)!
Sometimes the best dining experiences happen by chance. We didn't have a reservation, but thanks to a last-minute no-show, we were seated right away, lucky doesn't even begin to cover it. The evening started with a glass of blanc de blanc, crisp and celebratory, setting just the right tone. The food exceeded expectations: a melt-off-the-bone lamb shank served with perfectly seasoned rice, and a beautifully prepared duck confit, rich and satisfying without being overwhelming. Both dishes balanced comfort with refinement. Service was smooth and attentive, never rushed, and the atmosphere added to the sense that we had stumbled into something special. What could have been an ordinary night turned into one of those meals you remember for all the right reasons.
I love this place. It's the quintessential cafe in Brooklyn. The ambience, the staff and food are all great. The food is incredibly flavored. I randomly walked by midweek during lunch and decided to dine by myself here. Even during midweek it was pretty busy. The staff was attentive and kind. You definitely have to try it once, you'll be back!
Friendship. Always love visiting my daughter in Brooklyn. So fun to be able to also eat dinner with several of her friends from middle school in Houston! It is amazing how many of her friends and cousins now live in the five boroughs!! Cafe Mogador was a fairly central location to meet for dinner. Love the Moroccan menu. I had the Bastilla. What is Bastilla? Bastilla is a sweet and savory meat pie from North Africa. Layers of phyllo dough enclose a filling of seasoned chicken, almonds, and onions. The phyllo dough is dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar for a sweet and savory taste. Interestingly, I made this once at a cooking class. It is sooo delicious. The Bastilla was paired with a garden salad filled with beets. My favorite! Our table also got a lebna appetizer with pita. The lamb kabobs with rice were also a hit. My vegetarian daughter had a veggie curry special. So nice to be able to have a wonderful dinner seeing my daughter and her friends and hear about all of their wonderful experiences. Thanks for a delicious meal to celebrate life.

Café Mogador is a crowd fav in the city for Moroccan food and offers exquisite traditional dishes and comfort food. The tagines are not to be missed, in particular the lamb and fish tagines are so savory and tender. Highly recommend getting a couple if you have a group, each is great for sharing between 2-3 people. The jalapeño cheese naan oozes with cheese and is great for spreads. Humus and babaghanoush are super fresh, also loved the halloumi starter, like fried cheese served with grilled tomatoes and pita. My friends and I also loved the bastilla, which was a pastry with savory chicken inside. Their brunch menu looked really great for daytime. Definitely make a reservation beforehand and bring people with you to order lots of options! read more

Cafe Mogador is always bustling, so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. We had such a great time here! The food was amazing and perfectly seasoned. My favorites were the Lamb Tagine and the Kebab with biryani rice--absolutely delicious. Whether you're meeting up with friends or just craving a flavorful meal, this spot never disappoints. I came here on a date for brunch, and while the date itself left more to be desired, this cafe was absolutely fantastic. Within this eatablishment is a hustling and bustling cafe, yet it never felt frantic and uncontrolled inside. The staff were busy yet never overwhelmed and their service was excellent. We were seated quickly and presented the menu right as we sat down. Our waiter was great at explaining the unique offerings. We both opted to get eggs Benedict, where I got the Moroccan and she got the Norwegian. She also had a plain coffee while I tried their Elderflower Rosemary Spritz. She said her coffee was good. My Spritz was pretty good, although I didn't taste much of the Elderflower in it. The food itself was fantastic. We didn't get to try each other's food but both of us kept commenting on the speed of preparation, presentation, and the flavors. The spicy tomato sauce they gave us on the side was indeed spicy, but full of flavor. I put it all over my food. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying side salad was a nice finish to the entree. I wish the portions were bigger, but they were definitely suffice to say the least We opted to share a cheesecake afterwards. I don't remember what kind it was. It had a topping reminiscent to a gravy made of apples and cinnamon, and it came with some slices on the side. The cheesecake was fantastic and it was pretty hard for me to not destroy it in seconds in front of my date, as we were sharing it. Overall, Cafe Mogador was an excellent place for brunch. I would definitely recommend it if you wanted to go on a date, or even to catch up with a friend. The location isn't too crazy in terms of parking too, as I found it right around the corner. We did visit on a Sunday, so that could have been a factor. It's also worth noting that there's a park nearby where you could walk afterwards, and the view is really nice. It would make a perfect end to a brunch here. High recommended by yours truly. The only reason I didn't opt for 5 stars was the lack of flavor in the Spritz. I also think the pricing is a little high in relation to the portions of the food. Don't let any of that deter you from visiting however, as this restaurant was still amazing. Shame that my date wasn't as good as this cozy restaurant, but had I not gone, I may have never found this hidden gem read more

Such a cute spot that reminded me of European cafes. I had French toast and it was divine. It was the perfect Saturday brunch meal. Rosé was a nice compliment to this place that had a full menu and nice hours. I was able to chat with my friend without feeling rushed out. My only critique was the latte art. I don't have a picture of the latte that we got, but the latte art could use some work. It was rather abstract. I'd definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more
My daughter and I were in Williamsburg for a day of shopping and eating. We needed a grand finale of sorts and selected Cafe Mogador. We were able to get a table because we arrived on the earlier side of the dinner rush. The decor is nice, the lighting is pleasant. All of the staff were friendly and made good recommendations. We started with the hummus and falafel plate for an appetizer. Hands down, one of the best versions of hummus and falafel I've had. Super creamy hummus and perfectly crisp falafel, my daughter is still craving it days later. My daughter enjoyed her chicken kebab entree and I truly loved my lamb tagine with apricot and prune sauce. Amazingly tender lamb, delicious sauce, great couscous accompaniment, as well as a shredded cabbage that worked perfect with all of it. We will certainly return to Cafe Mogador. read more

Everything about this place was great. The ambiance, food, and service were all lovely. For mezze we got cucumber yogurt, tabouli, and a crispy cauliflower special. All 3 were delicious - the crispy cauliflower was a favorite. For entrees we got the chicken kebab and vegetarian couscous. Delicious as well, and huge portions! I also got the mint tea which paired well with the meal - it had tons of fresh mint and smelled divine. I can't wait to come back! read more

Sat. June 1st, 6pm dinner reservation: So glad i chose Mogador to introduce moroccan cuisine to my 23yr old daughter! My mother grew up in Rabat, and I spent 8 summers there as a kid visiting w/family (1964-1972). We ordered the chicken and lamb shank tagines, the bastilla, the merguez sausage and closed with a pot of mint tea. They were all delicious and represented the food i ate as a kid. Special props to our server Cat, and our hostess Shannon, who were both exceptional! The vibe was great, and I highly recommend the place to everyone! If you want to enjoy the food, spice and aroma of Morocco just visit Café Mogador. I have been going to their Village location for many years and just tried their Brooklyn spot. It is the same quality food, service and comfortable décor. They have a wonderful specialty drink selection which are so unique. The food is traditionally prepared, was so delicious and happy the portions were large. The meal is so good I keep thinking about my next visit! read more

The interior design is very "New York" with the brick walls, wood seating, and multi-colored throw pillows. The space is cozy and inviting. The food is plated beautifully, and I had some of the best pita I've ever had. read more

My friend and I were exploring Brooklyn and found Cafe Mogador in the neighborhood. So glad we stopped in because the ambiance here was immaculate and the food was so flavorful. We did a walk-in instead of reservation so the wait was a bit long, but we did come in on a Friday night and the restaurant was on the smaller side and was packed. The food wait was also on the longer side, but again, it was a busy Friday night. Hummus/Falafel Platter (5/5): The hummus was on the grainier side, which is my preference because I love the texture. The falafel was beautifully green in the middle, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. This was a well-made staple. Merguez Sausage Rice Plate (5/5): I don't know how they make their sausage, but it was so flavorful with a subtle kick that paired so incredibly well with the cucumber yogurt and rice for the perfect bite. The presentation of the sausage on the rice made me laugh a bit and slightly skeptical but it was simply delicious. Lamb Tangine w/ Charmoulla Green Herbs & Couscous (4/5): The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, and did not have that strong distinct lamb odor at all. The slight tartness of the charmoulla herb sauce cuts the heaviness of the meat, so I didn't get sick of the giant dish after a few bites of the meat. I took off 1 point because I felt like it didn't pair well with the couscous, but that's just a personal opinion. read more
first time trying moroccan food and it was soooo good!!! i really liked the moroccan lamb shank tagine 12/10!! it was sooo tender and fell right off the bone. the mixed grill was really good and i absolutely loved the tzatziki. but tell me why we spent $16 on 3 small pieces of halloumi tho. cafe mogador definitely offered some super yummy and unique flavors but not sure if the prices match the quality :( read more
Very good Moroccan food. Place has indoor, outdoor, and "garden" seating. Friendly and efficient servers. Quick service. Appetizers look great. There are specials of the day. Ordered a nice Greek salad to share and hummus. Hummus had a lot of tahini in it and could have used a squeeze of lemon. Only one slice of pita for two people seems stingy. Spouse got a very tasty chicken tangine. Two pieces of chicken. I got vegetable couscous. Tasty but would have been enhanced by some accompaniment like a cilantro sauce or the like. Fairly bland but nice sweet and mellow flavor. Gender neutral bathrooms were clean. read more
pretty big for a NYC spot, I was surprised by how much seating they had. We went around 5:30 on a Thursday without a reservation and got seated immediately, but by the time we were leaving it was packed and I'd assume a reservation would be better at that time. 2 of us shared 3 mezze plates and 3 shared plates. We were very full and probably didnt need everything. If we had ordered an entree I know that we wouldn't have needed as much. The mezze we got were the matbucha, labneh, and olive & pickles. Definitely get the matbucha, it was a little spicy, chefs kiss! The shared plates we got were the hummus & falafel, the kale salad, and the halloumi. Falafel was great, the kale salad was surprisingly great, as it wasn't something I thought I'd love at a middle eastern spot, and the halloumi portion was a little disappointing for the price. We were back east from the left coast visiting with family and our sons in Crooklyn and New Yawk and we ended up having dinner here one night. Of all the meals we had this past week in and around NYC this one rose close to the top of the pile. Solid Moroccan style meal prepared well and with good service and overall value and taste. I will say that oddly the hummus tasted watery and a little flat but everything else was genuinely tasty and well prepared. Four of us ate well for a total of $280 including tip and in today's world that fares well I suppose. I would have liked the lamb tagine to taste like the authentic ones we ate in Morocco a few years ago but this was a decent facsimile. Solid meal. Recommended. Skip the hummus. read more
Incredibly delicious - have been to the location many times at St Marks & was so happy to see they had another location while in Williamsburg BK. Opted for the Moroccan Iced Tea (a minty green tea) & the Moroccan Eggs. Everything was terrifically fantastic, and the zatar pita that came with the eggs is special - not to miss! read more

Great vibe and we were able to sneak in without a reservation as we were just two people. Staff was friendly and happy to try to squeeze us in. Started with a cocktail which was incredible. I think it was the Moroccan Heartburn - mezcal based with harissa and agave. It was awesome, smokey, flavorful, not really spicy either. worked so well. We started with the falafel, spicy carrots and halloumi watermelon. The falafel was absolutely the standout. The spicy carrots were fine but not memorable and probably wouldn't get again. But the halloumi & watermelon salad was not good. It was basically just a lot of plain watermelon and I would not get it again at all. For our main, my wife and I split the blackened chicken. It was very good, really refreshing sauce and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The thigh meat was a little fatty but not not to the point of complaining. It surprisingly also came with a latke which was great and helped soak up the sauce too. Service was not good, very slow and I think they even charged me when I asked for a little extra harissa. We were seated right away without a reservation on a Friday at the back patio. It's an enclosed space with sunlight shining through the ceiling. Though a bit busy, we got our food promptly. Made with fresh, simple ingredients, our meal was surprisingly good. My partner's first time having shashuka--it was great (though a bit messy) with the pita bread. I really think New York has the best food in the country!! Everything I have eaten in New York has been 5/5 but Cafe Mogador definitely made the top list. The hummus was so creamy and flavorful. We're from out of state and our friend who lives in the neighborhood recommended this place. We came for Sunday brunch and the wait times quoted were actually much shorter than mentioned. They have ample seating including the front patio, indoor seating and back patio. This was back in November 2021 so don't know if any seating has been removed. Food wise, I got the Benedict and was not disappointed. Hummus appetizer was also amazing. Service was good and attentive. My daughter ordered the pancakes but basically ordered maple syrup with a side of pancakes. That's how much we had to bother the server to keep bringing us out additional syrup... kids lol Their brunch offerings all looked and sounded delicious so if we're ever in town again, will def have to stop by again. I hear it's also a nice place to grab drinks at night. read more

You can easily park under the bqe and walk about 10/15 min or look for street parking
Is the food halal?
No they had several varieties of food. I think mainly American; i.e. on the menu they had ribs as an entree and butternut squash soup as appetizer.
Do they only have the brunch menu during the weekend?
No. Regular lunch and breakfast menu are available.
Is this place better for brunch or dinner?
Oh my this is a very tough question!!! Because the brunch foods are delicious and the tagines at dinner time are delicious too.…
