    Steak sandwich
    Kelsey K.

Came in and ordered a steak sandwich to go today. They asked how I wanted it cooked I said mid rare. Got home and there wasn't enough meat in it to justify $20 it was chewy and overcooked. Why ask for temp if you're not gonna follow it anyway? Fries were good but again for $20 I'd expect a few more

Truly a hidden gem! I was a little hesitant about going to a French restaurant that also had Vietnamese food but cannot deny how great the combo was. I was so conflicted picking between the two menus because it all looked so good. Service was fantastic and the servers were wearing their masks while serving patrons. The tables however were a little closer together. Either way, I got the fried tofu which was ABSOLUTELY delicious! My brother and I scarfed that down very quickly! Our entrees were delicious as well! I got the quiche and my brother the salmon. The salmon was buttery and decadent. The pastry crust for my quiche also had so much flavor so you can only imagine how yummy the actual quiche was. Definitely will be back here again!

    French onion soup and escargot
    Amy L.

Who would have thought there'd be good French food in Reston? I couldn't decide between feeling super French and getting the escargot or being a basic American and getting the American-friendly french onion soup, so I ordered both. I'm so glad I ordered both because they were both delicious! If you've never tried escargot, the texture is similar to a mussel or clam. Kinda chewy (and unappealing to some people). But the real star is the garlic butter sauce that the snails are bathed in. It tastes soooo good and I love dunking bread in the garlic sauce, then eating it with a piece of escargot! The French onion soup was classic and tasted great! The cheese was bubbly and the broth was flavorful, without being overwhelmingly salty. I'd definitely order it again! My friend got the crab quiche and she seemed to really enjoy it! It was a good serving size too! My only minor complaint is that the outdoor tables could be a bit further apart. I don't think they were all 6 feet apart, but at least I sat outside. The servers all wore masks as well, so I felt safe overall! Definitely will be returning here on the next warm covid winter day!!

The food was so good! I had the escargot with the wonderfully crusty bread to sip up all the mushroom gravy and the cha gio. The family is so nice and the food was a wonderful surprise. I was there at dinner and it was not busy-- please go support! The French / Vietnamese fusion is so good! I will be back!

Albeit I do not have much to judge on except the cappuccinos were so fabulous I had to order 3 and my friend ordered 2 yesterday. But I will now never go to the coffee shop at Lake Anne to get coffee, I will come here for PERFECT cappuccinos. But the one thing that applies to all their customers is how personable they are with customers. I saw them come by the table just to say hello, many different staff stopped by. And I saw them checking with all the patrons that were there as well. My friend describes the atmosphere like the TV show Cheers. She is a regular and they do know her name. And I love establishments that treat their customers so well, and so valued.

Great restaurant by the water at Lake Anne!

Really good food, service and outdoor eating area. They had a huge 7 piece band playing and though they were very loud, it wasn't as bad sitting outside and they were very good. The food was excellent. The French onion soup was good, a little on the sweet side which is not what I prefer, but adding a little ground pepper made it better. The cheese and french bread in the crock made it a special. Had the trout almondine with rice and veggies. The rice tasted like a good basmati and the vegetables were tender and seasoned well. The trout was very good, though had more oil than I would have liked. It was cooked well and tasted delicious. We split a creme caramel that was also very good. The meal was paced well and our waiter kept returning as necessary to check on us, fill water, get other drinks, etc... Very nice place by the water, beautiful night to sit out. A little on the dark side depending on what table you sat at. We were fine on where we sat, but would recommend putting lights up to make it easier for patrons to see after dark. All in all it was a good meal, great service and I'll definitely be back. Its nice that I live so close to this restaurant around the lake!!! Highly recommend a visit here.

Fresh and warm, they had a crispy crust and a soft interior. They resembled mini ciabattas and were scrumptious with the butter. The salmon en croute blew me away! It was of the best dishes I've ever had. The salmon melted in my mouth, and the puff pastry was still crisp. I loved the flavorful sauce; it made the dish even better. The steak frites were just ok. The steak was cooked to my preference, but it was bland. The fries were amazing, though. Crunchy yet fluffy. I wish the steak came with a sauce, like the one served with the salmon en croute. The service was good overall, and they were attentive. The ambiance was lovely - cozy and romantic. I can't wait to come back for the rolls and the salmon en croute, and to try their other dishes! Highly, highly recommend La Bonne Vie!

Upon our arrival, we were seated near a window overlooking the sidewalk where we were able to watch people passing by while enjoying our candlelit meal. 10 out of 10 for atmosphere at this charming and cozy table. The service was prompt and attentive. We started by enjoying a few of the craft cocktails, which were simply wonderful and the product of a talented and adept bartending. If your idea of a good cocktail involves slush or machines, this is probably not the place for you. I enjoyed a dirty martini, as did my youngest daughter. My oldest daughter enjoyed a French 75. All lovely and all perfectly mixed. I would return here if nothing more than the cocktails! For starters, my daughter shared the Pate De Campagne, which consisted of country style pâté, cornichons and toast points. They loved it! My wife enjoyed the Salad Verte and I loved the Roquefort Salad. Both salads were simply marvelous and went well with the freshly baked bread. On to the main event! Fo her entree, my youngest daughter had the Roasted Cornish Hen. She had never had Cornish hen before, but this particular rendition made her a fan of the dish. Perfectly cooked, juicy and savory. My older daughter enjoyed the Salmon en Croute. The salmon was perfectly cooked to the correct temp and the pastry was spot on. A lovely dish and one I will try on our next visit. My wife and I each devoured the Chicken Paillard. This is one of those dishes that is so simple, but the lemon butter knocks your socks off. If it wasn't such a lovely restaurant, I might have licked my plate. Yes....it was that good. I ate every last caper! For dessert, we shared a portion of the luxurious pistachio cheesecake. An excellent ending to an amazing meal. This charming restaurant is a jewel in the heart of Herndon. I highly recommend it for your next special occasion. We look forward to returning soon!

My poor review is due to not only being over charged but we left after paying. I walked my daughter and baby to her car. Realized within a couple of minutes o had left my Tom Ford prescription glasses on the table. Literally ran back to get them. Table was cleared and I found the waitress she said a busier cleared the table. He was sitting at another table with friends and he Said he found nothing. Spoke with several people about finding them as I can not drive without them. The staff was very shady and no one found them. Something overall just seemed off about the whole experience there. I will never go there again. I have photos of the staff being shady and showed them to a manager. He seemed surprised, but what Can he say. Be careful dining here and check your tab.

Almost 100% of the customers are Latino; I felt a bit of a misfit being there. Additionally, service was very poor, where the lady who placed our order took forever to take our order, bring the food and give us the check; she also never really checked on us, nor refilled her water. She was on her phone and sitting at the tables. The place def has a vibe - it has hookah, and drink deals for those that want it - but it's extremely loud (where you can't even talk); I literally was texting to communicate with my party. This place has potential but needs work (if they want to reach a bigger audience).

I thought I had updated my review last Thanksgiving... but no. This is the second year in a row…read morethat we had our Thanksgiving dinner here. Since it was just the two of us, it was much easier to go out for dinner. Ruth's Chris offers up a Thanksgiving dinner on this day as well as its usual menu. For drinks, I had a blueberry mojito, which was quite good. They do a good job on this drink. My husband had a Michelob Ultra. The dinner starts with either the soup of the day, a house salad, or a Caesar Salad. We both opted for the house salad. It was a good mix of veggies with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The portion was generous. However, I wished that they had put a bit more dressing on it as it was on the dry side. Next up, was the main course which consists of turkey breast, stuffing, gravy, a bit of cranberry sauce plus your choice of veggie. We both got the garlic green beans. The turkey was tender and moist. The gravy was flavorful, and a generous amount was given. The stuffing was mildly flavored. The bit of cranberry sauce added a bit of sweetness to the entree. Dessert was pumpkin cheesecake with a small cup of vanilla ice cream on the side. The cheesecake was presented as a very small pie. One thing that should have been done---a spoon needed to be given, as we ended up using our forks to eat the ice cream! We were pleased with the portion size as it wasn't too filling. Instead, it was just right. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and efficient. The manager came around a couple of times to ask if we were enjoying our meal. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance was cozy, like a steakhouse. We always feel comfortable dining at Ruth Chris. We most certainly will return for Thanksgiving dinner!
