This was amazing. They must not be well known because there was no one in there when we walked in at 4:30 on a Saturday night, but the food was incredible. I had the Pork Chow Fun and my wife had the Garlic Shrimp Plate. Both were insanely good. I stopped in for a late lunch on Monday (2pm) and the tiny dining area was vacant. The kind lady behind the counter offered suggestions and I decided on gogi wanja, flat meatballs. It was a perfect sized appetizer and filled me up nicely. Very yummy dipping sauce and the flavor of the meatballs was similar to mandoo, Korean dumplings. Honestly, the best Korean food I've ever had. The chefs are artists and take enormous pride that the food is aesthetically presented and of course, delicious. Also, the vegetables are extremely fresh, healthy and resemble the assorted colors of a rainbow. read more

Visited here a few months ago. And I probably would've had some today but they're closed on Sundays. I do plan on visiting again when I get the chance tho. I'm sure Cafe Moon only offered take out because Mrs.Kuhronavyrus was already vacationing in Maui. But at the time of my visit, they were actually offering dine in for parties of no larger than two. Not sure if that's changed. For the sake of safety, my sister and I decided to just order take out. But if there was no pandemic then we probably would have enjoyed the atmosphere. Sleek black furniture with accents of green house plants was very pleasing. I ordered the vegetable bibimbap and kimchijeon. The vegetable bibimbap had fresh leafy greens opposed to blanched. Which I thought was a nice surprise! Not too sure if it's a regional thing or maybe because the owners feel like trying something different, but I'm a fan!! And ik you can barely ever go wrong with any sort of jeon but their kimchijeon was delicious! It was a balance of crispy and chewy, really comforting. I would recommend this place because of the obvious reason that Korean cuisine is like nonexistent in Kihei. But also because the food is undeniably tasty! Pricing may not necessarily be cheap, but I'd say it's pretty fair. read more

Delicious Korean food here at Café Moon! As a Korean American, I tend not to go to Korean restaurants, but was craving it as my husband and I are traveling and are not able to cook at our rental home. We gave this place a try, and I ordered the Korean classic bulgogi bibimbap and my husband ordered his favorite dish, galbi with white rice and Korean style mac salad (less mayo than Hawaiian mac salad). The service was prompt and the staff were friendly and conscientious- NOT the typical Korean restaurant with rude staff. They even gave us 2 cups of ice so we can split our bottled tea, which we didn't even inquire about. So thoughtful and considerate! Their attention to presentation of the food, eating utensils, bowls, and plates (classic black) were excellent! Loved the bibimbap in the black bowl with a metal black spoon. There was some spring mix salad in the bibimbap, which was delicious with the rest of the dish's entourage! My husband loved the galbi dish also. Would come back here to try the other items on the menu also. read more

Went here for lunch today after stumbling upon this place during my break. Super convenient location with lots of parking and very nice interior. I ordered the beef bulgogi with mac salad and a side of kimchi. I'm very picky with my Korean food, especially kimchi, but everything was amazing! Beef was tender and well seasoned, kimchi was perfectly fermented, and the mac salad was creamy but not over whelmed with mayo. Cafe moon is hidden gem! I'll definitely be back! read more

A little korean restaurant on the south side, located in Kihei at 41 E Lipoa. A very simple menu that's definitely authentic korean meals. As an avid traveler to South Korea this small kitchen produces one of the best meals on the island of Maui with a wide variety of specials of the day. I was visiting from La. This place has authentic Korean food. This is as good as it can get in Maui. Service is slow because they cook when they receive the order. Only 4 tables available fyi. This place is good. I love Korean food and have eaten a lot of it so seeing such a well-reviewed Korean spot close was really exciting. We ordered the Korean pork ribs, beef jeon and the bulgogi tokbokki. This food wasn't what I consider authentic Korean, although it was good! To me (like so many local spots) the Hawaiian influence was palpable. The ribs were unlike anything I have eaten in Korea or at any Korean restaurant. The meat was so soft it almost dissolved off the bone and the sauce seemed to be saturated all the way through. Typically I think of short ribs when I think of Korean food, but these were regular pork ribs and were a bit sloppy. It was difficult to tell the meat from the sauce... It had no tooth to it, it was kinda just mush. The mush had a nice flavor though, so that was good! The beef jeon was delicious! Again, unlike anything I've had before but super yummy, much thicker and chunkier than the jeon I am accustomed to- very flavorful also. I will go back for the jeon alone! The bulgogi tokbokki was offensively sweet. The first bite I took was actually shocking to me and I found it to be inedible. I poured all the broth off and added a substantial amount of kimchi to try and neutralize the sugar. I was disappointed because this is one of my all time comfort dishes, and this one was inedible as it came out for me, but a lot of restaurants on-island seem to cater to what must be a local preference for very sweet foods. Overall it was fine. I am looking forward to trying the restaurant a few more times and perhaps updating my review. read more

You need to get off the main drag to find this cozy Cafe tucked away in the Lipoa Shopping Center.  It's super clean and the staff is really friendly. We quickly surveyed the menu and ordered two items.  First was the Spicy Pork Bibimbap with a sunny side up egg. It came with a side of Gochujang sauce. Second was the Char Sui & Ground Pork Chow Fun. Both dishes came out hot and delicious, obviously just prepared.  The portions were generous.  I felt they were worth their Maui price.  I'm no expert on Korean food, but our experience was very good and I recommend this spot and will definitely come back. read more

I just had lunch here and I'm so glad I tried it. I ordered 3 dishes, thinking they're small servings. They are not! Even the kimbap was gigantic! I polished off the kimchi fried rice with spam and almost finished off the kimbap. The teobokki I couldn't finish, so I picked out the fish cakes. Tooooo much food, but sooooooo good! The BEST food on the island by far! I have traveled the world and Cafe Moon is the most delicious and flavorful Korean food that I ever had. Food is decent but gosh darn if these owners and employees would stop parking in front of the store taking up all the close in front of the door parking spots then my opinion of them and the store would be different. Prices are a bit inflated for what you get bu t I get it it's Maui prices but just saying if the prices were 2 dollars or 3 less I would be going here 2 or 3 times a week. But the sticker shock takes at least a week to wear off before I come to grips to eat here again. On vacation, family of five, and this was a real winner across the board for yummy take out after a full day of activity. We didn't want a sit-down restaurant, but did want a great meal.
