I came here a couple of years ago when it was smaller and new. I vowed never to come again. I'm glad I can't keep my word to myself. I came in this morning to hang while the carpet layers were putting in new carpet at my place. Big, comfortable, warm atmosphere (it's December as I write this) and the best two people behind the counter I've encountered in a while. They even helped me get logged onto the WI Fi because stupid xfinity kept taking over my computer (what's new, eh?). The music...better even than the coffee shop channel on Sirius. Kitchen staff! Couldn't get our order correct no matter what was said or written drown or printed out. Waited over 30 minutes for 2 bagels. Front staff (at the register) those 2 ladies were amazing! We came on a busy Sunday morning but the owner was super friendly and the service was pretty fast given she was the only one making all the coffee orders. We got the Pistachio Matcha tea, Nothing "Beets" Mushrooms tea, and a White Espresso Latte. The Pistachio Matcha wasn't sweet which is a plus since matcha isn't supposed to be overtly sweet. The beet mushroom tea was so good. Highlight recommend that one and the white espresso latte. It was a naturally sweeter latte with the white espresso blend and hint of vanilla. read more

The space has definitely expanded since it opened during COVID. Great atmosphere to work or hang out with friends. I miss the lavender scone that was available at the old location. Such a great place with recently an expanded site and services!!! AJ makes a mean Americano and Latte in the morning, and our son is quickly becoming the Cupla macaroon aficionado. Afternoons are just as great, as they have drinks and food. I love their espresso martini (I rotate between vodka or dark rum, and the affogato is my favorite dessert! Service: I waited 35 minutes for two donuts and two ham and cheese croissants, and there were only 4 other people in there. They were also EXTREMELY RUDE! When I asked what kind of donuts they had, the lady said "I don't know! Assorted! Can't you SEE them all in that glass case?! I don't know them all off the top of my head!" Plus the indoor space is clean & comfortable. I enjoyed my drink, cold and seasoned, without too much sweet. There's plenty of other specials to keep things interesting too. I came to CUPLA about 15 minutes before closing, and the barista was still sweet enough to make me a coffee, she also recommended some restaurants for me to try in SLC, as I was visiting the area! The ambience of this place is so cute and aesthetic, and seemed like a great place to get some work done. They also had outdoor seating, which would be nice to enjoy with some friends on a nice day! I got the iced lavender latte with oat milk. I think the coffee was good but nothing spectacular. My coffee was a little bit on the sweeter side and heavier on the syrup than I usually like my coffee, but that's just preferences :) If you are looking for a cute coffee shop in the city though, I would definitely recommend to try out CUPLA! The girl taking the order was spaced out, making one mistake after another. She acted entitled and said out loud, "What? I stayed up until 3am!" I can't believe it's been a whole year since I first discovered Cupla - but this chilly, rainy day had me craving a delicious cup of coffee and a tasty treat. There's plenty of seating in here, bar seating around the windows and near the pastry counter, a table in the corner, a cozy couch and coffee table, and chairs and tables outside. The lady I spoke with gave me the wifi password and had no problem with me lingering for a while with my portable work station. The service is so friendly and genuine, I am under the impression I was speaking with one of the owners. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich, a Cookie Monster coffee, and a raspberry white chocolate muffin. They all came out fast, hot, and absolutely delicious. The muffin had a crumbly scone texture, maybe even a cornbread flavor - it was really good. I was thankful it wasn't overly sweet. Many of the pastries here are keto or gluten free, I suspect the same for my muffin. I notice there's a new pasty display, a bit smaller than the last time I was here. Hopefully their delightful citrus bars are still on the menu at some point during the year, they're to die for. For the middle of a week day it was quiet, but 1 or two people were always on their way in or out. Nice music, the environment is peaceful. And bonus points for incredible location. Next to the Smith's, a as station, and a beautiful view of the mountains (when they aren't obscured by smoke or rain clouds). Cupla's a keeper! read more

I moved to town just as the shop closed and have been looking forward to its opening. This location opened a few days ago, so I treated myself today. I ordered an ice-blended matcha, which was delish! To compare it with a popular alternative at SBUX, it was definitely more enjoyable. The recipe included pistachio, which complemented the matcha, and it was less icy than most ice-blended drinks, which I appreciate. Last, it was served in a real glass--it's the small touches that add up : ) The California Toast--a rendition of smashed avocado toast--had plenty of greens, two ripe, tasty tomato slices on top, and a pinch of something spicy (perhaps crushed red pepper). The remodeling was tastefully done (see pics). I loved the wood wall and, as someone who orders hand foods, I appreciate that the sink faucet was far enough from the bowl to allow me to wash my hands without rubbing them against the bowl (this seems minor, but it's something overlooked by most cafes.) The WiFi needs a little work. My computer disconnected for seconds to a minute at a time. The speed was okay but not great (16Mbps down/5Mbps up), but the disconnecting made working with web apps challenging. Overall, I feel fortunate to have such an option close to home. Now I won't have to drive 20 minutes R/T to visit a quality coffee shop. read more

Let me first start off by saying the staff was absolutely lovely. They made recommendations based on preferences and were incredibly friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our items either. The decor was cozy but very dark too. I actually think if you like the fair ok you'd enjoy hanging out here. It was the food and drink that were the big misses for us. We came in off an Instagram post from a local influencer that rated them highly. As suggested we bought the breakfast burrito. I told I preferred something on the sweeter side for a drink and I was recommend to try the blueberry muffin latte or the apple pie with white mocha latte. I chose blueberry only to be told they were out of one of the ingredients to make it so apple pie it was. My son ordered the strawberry lemonade and a keto friendly pumpkin chocolate chip butterscotch cookie. It had no chocolate chips in it. The color had almost no flavor at all and texturely seemed a bit undercooked. The lemonade was decent. The latte I had had almost no flavor. There certainly wasn't any apple pie like flavor to it. It just tasted like weak bland coffee with milk. The burrito was also underwhelming. It really needed the green chili sauce just to give it some flavor. Overall quite bland. The cheese was well melted and the tortilla was quite nice but there wasn't a ton of sausage and the eggs didn't seem seasoned at all. Just a bland sandwich overall. Based on our experience I wouldn't recommend. read more

Coffee is pretty good. Nice space. When I asked if they would do egg whites, they said no. I asked why, they just because we don't. We don't scramble them either. Very cozy and cute little coffee shop in the cottonwood area. They are nestled in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking if you come with other people. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got their egg & sausage biscuit breakfast sandwich, and it was tasty, but nothing to go out of the way for. Knocking one star because despite them having gluten free bread available for their breakfast sandwiches, it isn't actually safe for those with celiac/gluten allergy due to a shared toaster/prep area. This was a bit of a bummer as their website says they "specialize in delicious Gluten Free, Vegan, Paleo, and Keto options" and that was the main reason we stopped by. I do appreciate them letting us know that the GF bread wasn't safe as my husband is very sensitive to gluten, and many places don't know about the dangers of cross-contamination. But I also wonder why even have GF bread if it's not actually meant for those with allergies? read more

Let's start with the coffee: rotating single origin espresso pulled with care and consideration for even the most discerning espresso drinker (counting myself in this group) -- winner. 5 stars here. I also order a cortado and it's always delicious. Never had the drip, but I have to imagine it's fantastic. Iced dirty chai is a nice change of pace. On to the food things: I've had the breakfast burrito with pork sausage. Killer gooey good (pictured). Add a side of avocado. The donuts, gf muffins, lemon bars, and ham/cheese croissant all good. Went to go get a coffee, not to get cursed at. To preface, I have been here 3 times; the experience was never like this. I arrived at the shop and was trying to order the same drink I had the day prior, but I could not remember the name. The two at the counter were courteous, but could not assist me. So they called over, what I assumed to be, their manager. She was rude, abrasive, and unhelpful. At one point she said, "So what's the goal here?" "You want the same shit, or what?". The manager then walked away and her two coworkers worked to get me a coffee similar to the one I described. read more

Interesting experience. So we are in the midst of a pandemic, after a record high day of COVID cases recorded and we decide to go check out the new coffee shop. First off no one is wearing masks or anything covering their face. The girls did have red bandanas on but it was more for their outfit (cowgirl) vs protection. The store isn't set up for social distancing either. Coffee: it was ok, we ordered two lattes and they were more like coffee with cream. There was a slight tang to it also. Pastries: they looked amazing but they were just ok. Very friendly staff. The three stars might be generous but they are new so hopefully they can work out the kinks. read more

This place serves up the best smiles & tastiest coffee in town! The two ladies that run it are so kind & funny. They always have fun new drinks on their menu but are also great & serving me my traditional latte. Their treats & breakfast are also yummy. My only criticism is the Costco oat milk they use. Let me start by saying that the staff is nice, friendly and courteous. The coffee is.. about the same coffee as other small privately owned coffee shops (good). We really only go to coffee shops nowadays, because our 12 & 13 year old kiddos want some weird new drink, but mostly want some baked goods... mainly muffins (because they're convinced that they are "better" from a coffee shop, ha). So, of course, we indulge them frequently. I gotta say, this was unexpected. These muffins we bought (Starbucks equivalent pricing, with was $4-$5 a muffin .. yeah, I know.. it's a MUFFIN smh) were absolute garbage. The muffin LITERALLY had zero moisture and crumbled to pieces in front of our eyes. I assumed they were those gluten-free muffins, but it's 2021 and that doesn't happen anymore. So we're out ten bucks and the only thing that was fed on these muffins was our trash can. I'd chalk this up as a "bad batch", but not even the MOST expired muffins turn to dust like these. We can walk 2 minutes to this new coffee shop, but not likely at this point... will pop in the car and go to the over-priced Beans and Brew on Ft Union for the eats. Hopefully management reads this and changes vendors, because this could really be a local spot for us. read more
