As many have commented, this place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. At about 1:30 on a Sunday, no wait. Maybe it had been really busier earlier because the servers did not seem happy to be there or to wait on us. Something I can't quite put my finger on, they weren't rude or inattentive, I guess indifferent is the word. Like they couldn't have quite cared whether we ate there or not. The food was very good, I had a chicken fajita omelet with grilled chicken (and it did have that southwestern flavor), salsa, pepper and onion and pepper jack cheese. My sister in law had the everything omelet. No one asked us how the food was. There were some great sounding specials on the board and some unique menu items. Something just a little off about the service. Maybe since we had just been spoiled by sublime mani-pedi's we were expecting more of a welcome! We also got charged for a side order of corned beef hash that never came, but we had already signed two credit card slips and didn't feel like asking for it to be removed so we just left. I would give them 5 stars but they have a cheddar sauce they use on their omelettes instead of shredded cheese which is gross!

Good breakfast places have red bliss home fries because they are an easy way out of peeling potatoes. Great breakfast resteraunts offer old school home fries with onions that took some preparation time. Hash browns on the grill also old school greatness. Great breakfast at a really good price. The coffee refills come quickly and the staff is attentive but not overly so. I really love their omelettes and the portions are pretty sizable. Cafe on The Common is a great place to try out if you love breakfast as much as I do. My wife and I went here on Memorial Day, being that most other small breakfast restaurants in the area were closed, and she had heard good things about the cafe from a coworker. Don't let the outside fool you, it may not look like much but inside it is very spacious and clean, and even on a busy holiday they did a great job getting the food out quickly. The prices were average to a little bit high, but I also had to get the breakfast with 3 of everything, and no regrets (they had some of the best pancakes I've ever had)! Usually one of my favorite breakfast spots. Not today! Absolutely horrible service. Walked in around 9 am and after being told to seat ourselves sat for at least 5 minutes with no server coming over despite the fact that there were at least 4 waitresses and only 3 other occupied tables. I had to get up and ask if we had a server to which one waitress threw up her hands and said "yeah I'll be right over" When food arrived it was good, although I never got the baked beans i ordered. I would have simply reminded the waitress when she returned to check on us... But that never happened. She strolled by about a half hour later and left the check. We would have wrapped up some leftover however we didn't get the opportunity to ask for a take out box. Ordinarily I'm a 20% tipper even if the service is so so.... Not this time. All together awful experience with servers who seemed annoyed to wait on us. read more

Went there for breakfats last month and it was very good and very busy. We were in and out in less than an hour. Took 10 min for out food to get to us after we ordered. We weren't rushed, but in the same respect they want to turn tables over. The Food was excellent and came out hot and fresh and all at the same time with coffee readily available with just a glance at out server. If you get there late, expect to with, but well worth the wait!! We'll be back! read more

The Cafe on the Common is always busy but you can usually find a table. I have eaten here numerous times, as it is a traditional breakfast place in the center of town. The eggs benedict is hit or miss. The poached eggs are always good but sometimes the hollandaise is too thick and pasty. I wish that they had better tea and tea pots. I do not drink coffee and they serve the tea in the same cups without a saucer to put the tea bag into when you are done steeping. They also do not offer refills of tea/hot water. read more

We just happened to come across this place after practically running out of Aunt Adele's due to total lack of service, and boy i'm glad we did. I ordered the Hash Stuffers and they were unbelievable. The hollandaise sauce was one of the best i've ever had, and the potato skins were delicious with the corned beef hash on top. Way more food for one person to eat in one sitting, so i took some home. Besides the quality of all of our food, the waitress was very friendly and helpful, and the place was very clean and pretty inside. If you go for breakfast this place is fine. In the past it has been a good choice for the family. But today I took my kids for lunch here and was not impressed. I've been eating here on and off for years and am really surprised. We were served our drinks promptly, but it took at least 10 minutes until someone took our order for the meal. and that was only after I was able to get a waitresses attention as she passed our table. And this during the lunch hour, the place was only a third full and there were 5-6 staff standing behind the front counter talking. My daughter had french toast that she gives a good rating. The lunch entrees were disappointing to say the least. My son had the chicken marsala, the shell pasta was overcooked, the chicken overcooked and the sauce tasted "weird". I had the turkey dinner with garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. This entree was not fresh at all and the only hot item on the plate was the mashed potatoes. If I wanted a microwave dinner I would have purchased a Hungry Man frozen tv dinner. read more

We have been to this restaurant many times, it is always very busy and the service is also usually good as well. However, when we went to the restaurant for breakfast on a weekday we were seated and waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order while 4 waitresses gossiped at the bar seating area. While the food is quite tasty (I have had the steak tips and eggs, the open-faced meat lovers omelet, and others), the service that I have received at the front counter is nothing short of abysmal. My waitress never asked how my food was, if I wanted more coffee, or anything like that. The cook in the kitchen actually had a cell phone glued to her ear the whole time I was there, and my waitress, and others there, couldn't put their text messages down or stop chatting with each other to take care of their guests. The food is average breakfast and lunch fare. The service is always good. My complaint with my last trip was my plastic drinkware was cracked, causing iced coffee to leak out. Also, the backs of the booths (as well as walls and siding under it) was disgusting. It looks like it's never been cleaned. The ceiling tiles have also gone gray. Best hidden gem in mansfield for food. located across from town hall. serve the best breakfast all day.

I have been here a few times always hoping to have a better meal than the last. It just does not happen. The food is poor at best. Canned cheese sauce, terrible bacon, and eggs that are just never cooked right. The service isn't much better. Coffee refills are very hard to come by. There seems to be one girl walking around with a pot of coffee, but never gives any out. People are always lined up on Sundays for this place but I don't know why. I won't be back anymore. read more
