Cute spot and delicious food and pastries .Worth swinging by. Service was excellent and not of a wait.

So not actually French. It's Russian. But hey maybe they have a daughter named Paris they named it after. Russian pastries but they're just as good as French. I just got coffee since I can't fit a coffeemaker in my little studio. No counter space. Wish I could afford the pastries. I can financially but not uh, scale-fully. Too much sugar lately and I can't afford new pants on top of it all. Cute seating area and normal service, decent prices.

Wide variety of sweets: pastries, cakes, custards, cookies, tarts, and more. Also has hot/cold sandwiches and soups. This is the place I go to for a chocolate croissant. Shaded area with plenty of tables to sit at outside. Hidden gem.

I come for the borsch every time!

I've been here many times and always come back for the borsch. Despite the name, it appears to be a Russian or Ukrainian place with food of the like, and delicious baked goods. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only native English speaker around, which is a dead giveaway it's authentic. The sandwiches here look good too! Tip: there's no tap water. Only bottled.

The best Russian cuisine cafe in Los Angeles! Large portions! Polite and friendly staff. I recommend!

Tiramisu and a sad excuse for some version of a "napoleon".

Ive been on a napoleon kick lately and found this place and decided to try it The first couple times the napoleon was okay not as good as one at a similar European bakery a few streets up (papillion international bakery) But today i asked for the same thing and they sold me something that was essentially one of those mexican wafer cookies disguised as a napoleon it was god awful. With cheap tasteless play doh-like frosting filling. The tiramisu is alright, not much flavor. I also got some beef stick thing that also wasnt very good (respectfully dont know what the girl behind the counter called it) . And the service is weird because they dont speak much english so its hard to be helped properly. As for the other food they serve i have no idea but i do know their pastries and service have deterred me from ever wanting to try it.

One of the best cafés in Los Angeles that serves borscht. The pastries are also good, and the chebureki are excellent.

Yummy eclairs, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Came on a Friday and they closed at 6pm and not 8pm FYI (unlike what Yelp says)

Parking can be validated if you park in their parking garage on the opposite end of their building, not the one across the street (we didn't know which one until the worker told us) You take an elevator upstairs and the first thing that stood out to me was the aroma and the interior. It was really high end and looked very sleek. It looked really sleep and it was nice and cool inside as well. Their decor was minimalistic which I liked and it made the space look bigger. Multiple seating indoor and outdoor! My friend and I ordered 2 matcha einspanner's and their spicy miso carbonara. We got our drinks pretty quick but had to go up to ask about our food which was sitting at the counter but we could of easily missed hearing our name being called. The matcha was the perfect sweetness to me so I give it a high rating and the Carbonara was nice and creamy and included bacon bits but I didn't really taste any spice. The workers were really nice and sweet and helpful as well! I would definitely love to come back to one day do some work and enjoy a good matcha Parking: 9/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Drinks: 9/10 Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Workspace: 10/10

There is an elevator that goes directly to AOU and a staff member was friendly enough to greet us in the elevator. As soon as we entered, we were immediately met with an open, modern, inviting space. There was plenty of seating indoor as well as outdoors. The cashier was also super friendly and even provided us with recommendations from their menu. We ordered the matcha einspanner, banana matcha cream, breakfast burrito, earl grey canele, and cinnamon roll. Everything we tried was delicious! Both matcha drinks were delicious and the banana flavor was not overpowering. The breakfast burrito came with two different salsas which were both so good! The earl grey canele was rich but the perfect amount. The cinnamon roll was also super soft and yummy! The menu is extensive so I definitely need to go back to try more! Can't wait to go back!!

This was one of the closer coffee spot with good reviews that I found near the kbbq place (Seogwan by Yellow Cow Kbbq) my family and I ate at for lunch. It was about 0.5miles (3 mins drive). The coffee shop is super large, bright, and has nice background music. There are plenty of seats for people to hang out or study. There are also street parking but can be difficult to cross the street due to cars driving by so quickly without a pedestrian crosswalk on one side. I ordered their signature drink which was the orange espresso tonic with one extra shot for my husband, and the double mango matcha for myself. Both of us really enjoyed the drinks, especially the orange espresso tonic. It was refreshing, clean, and easy to drink. Normally, they include double shots of espresso, which may have tasted stronger for me since my husband wanted three shots, and I usually stick with two shots. The double mango matcha uses fresh fruit syrup so the mango flavor was not too strong and my drink was very creamy due to the signature mango cream on top. Usually, I would enjoy a creamy matcha but it made me more thirsty on a hot day. The service took a bit of time since they had to mix my matcha the legit way with the bamboo whisk. The matcha tasted like premium, ceremonial matcha since it was stronger and authentic in taste. Overall, both drinks were enjoyable but if I had to choose one, I would go with the orange espresso tonic even though I love mango matcha!

We get is the Matcha Croffle + Ice Cream, Matcha Einspanner, Taro Einspanner, and their cakes. Only thing I knocked down a star is because Not all the workers know the answers to your questions of what is in what food item or if you can substitute the milks. So that's something Cafe Upper should train all staff. Especially if people have food allergies.
