Cute spot and delicious food and pastries .Worth swinging by. Service was excellent and not of a wait.

So not actually French. It's Russian. But hey maybe they have a daughter named Paris they named it after. Russian pastries but they're just as good as French. I just got coffee since I can't fit a coffeemaker in my little studio. No counter space. Wish I could afford the pastries. I can financially but not uh, scale-fully. Too much sugar lately and I can't afford new pants on top of it all. Cute seating area and normal service, decent prices.

Wide variety of sweets: pastries, cakes, custards, cookies, tarts, and more. Also has hot/cold sandwiches and soups. This is the place I go to for a chocolate croissant. Shaded area with plenty of tables to sit at outside. Hidden gem.

I come for the borsch every time!

I've been here many times and always come back for the borsch. Despite the name, it appears to be a Russian or Ukrainian place with food of the like, and delicious baked goods. Sometimes it feels like I'm the only native English speaker around, which is a dead giveaway it's authentic. The sandwiches here look good too! Tip: there's no tap water. Only bottled.

The best Russian cuisine cafe in Los Angeles! Large portions! Polite and friendly staff. I recommend!

Tiramisu and a sad excuse for some version of a "napoleon".

Ive been on a napoleon kick lately and found this place and decided to try it The first couple times the napoleon was okay not as good as one at a similar European bakery a few streets up (papillion international bakery) But today i asked for the same thing and they sold me something that was essentially one of those mexican wafer cookies disguised as a napoleon it was god awful. With cheap tasteless play doh-like frosting filling. The tiramisu is alright, not much flavor. I also got some beef stick thing that also wasnt very good (respectfully dont know what the girl behind the counter called it) . And the service is weird because they dont speak much english so its hard to be helped properly. As for the other food they serve i have no idea but i do know their pastries and service have deterred me from ever wanting to try it.

4.5 Yelp Stars *** Stopped by here to pick up coffee before…read morethe long roadtrip home to the Bay Area! This was one of the closer coffee spot with good reviews that I found near the kbbq place (Seogwan by Yellow Cow Kbbq) my family and I ate at for lunch. It was about 0.5miles (3 mins drive). The coffee shop is super large, bright, and has nice background music. There are plenty of seats for people to hang out or study. There are also street parking but can be difficult to cross the street due to cars driving by so quickly without a pedestrian crosswalk on one side. I ordered their signature drink which was the orange espresso tonic with one extra shot for my husband, and the double mango matcha for myself. Both of us really enjoyed the drinks, especially the orange espresso tonic. It was refreshing, clean, and easy to drink. Normally, they include double shots of espresso, which may have tasted stronger for me since my husband wanted three shots, and I usually stick with two shots. The double mango matcha uses fresh fruit syrup so the mango flavor was not too strong and my drink was very creamy due to the signature mango cream on top. Usually, I would enjoy a creamy matcha but it made me more thirsty on a hot day. The service took a bit of time since they had to mix my matcha the legit way with the bamboo whisk. The matcha tasted like premium, ceremonial matcha since it was stronger and authentic in taste. Overall, both drinks were enjoyable but if I had to choose one, I would go with the orange espresso tonic even though I love mango matcha!

If you plan to sit here, there's a one-drink-per-person minimum. The café itself is aesthetic and filled with natural light. The drink has that bitter matcha flavor, which I'm usually okay with, but this one wasn't very smooth. It left an aftertaste that I didn't enjoy.

I ordered a matcha Einspanner less sweet. It came out super creamy and really well balanced. Also, I have never seen a matcha look like that! The cafe is pretty spacious with a decent amount of seating, which I appreciated. A huge plus is that they have a parking lot. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back!

They have chairs and tables for you to hang out and eat/drink what you purchased. There's also just benches if you wanna lounge. I've seen people here working on their laptop and groups of people around one table so the vibe is chill and friendly. It also depends on what time of day you come. Weekends usually get packed. As for the drinks and food. What we've had here has always been good. Best to eat their Croffle and baked goods there. Although Matcha is not for my liking, I'm more for their Taro Drink. B says the Matcha here is one of the better ones she's had. I have to agree even their Matcha Ice Cream is good. We get is the Matcha Croffle + Ice Cream, Matcha Einspanner, Taro Einspanner, and their cakes. Only thing I knocked down a star is because Not all the workers know the answers to your questions of what is in what food item or if you can substitute the milks. So that's something Cafe Upper should train all staff. Especially if people have food allergies.
