This place uses every inch of their space. It's perfectly busy and tight - lots of energy. They have a center 14 seat table that they seat different parties together at - cool idea. The staff was amazing and our server was able to recommend non meat options (we typically eat meat, but it was Friday during Lent) that were out of this world delish (squash enchiladas, Atlantic char (perfectly cooked)) and at the very end when we were already full we asked for one last recommendation- she suggested a Chile Relleno which we loves so much we ordered yet another. We left so fun but so happy. What a great first meal in Santa Fe. It will be hard to compete with this experience. read more

Cafe Pasqual's has a wonderful combination of amazingly efficient & friendly service combined with unusually fresh, delicious food served in a festive atmosphere. We called the week before we arrived in Santa Fe and could only get a reservation for 2 at the community table on a Monday evening. That turned out to be extra fun. Everyone at the big table was fun & friendly. We got some helpful suggestions on what to order. We highly recommended the Spanish red wine, which was new to us. After trying it, of course we couldn't resist a 2nd glass. The strawberry shrub was delicious, too. Pasqual's was closed on Tuesday, so we were first in line for breakfast on Wednesday morning. We arrived at 7:35. By the time 8 o'clock rolled around, the restaurant filled up as soon as the door opened. We were immediately asked for our drink order on the way in. Amazing coffee, juice and water arrived almost instantly. In a few minutes a waiter came around with hot bear claws --fresh from the oven--HEAVEN! The waiters were all fun & engaging. Food here was authentic and delicious!!! My sister had a mistake with her order originally and they fixed it quickly and graciously. Our server was super nice and the hostess was very kind as well. It's a small cafe so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. I think we waited about 20 minutes. There are shops around and you can wander while waiting for a table, as they'll text you when they're ready. The staff is very efficient so they seem to be able to turn over tables quickly. Parking is a little tricky since there's street parking and a small lot across the street, but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the Durango Omelette and it was delicious! I know there's probably a ton of better options on the menu that would allow me to really experience the region's flavors, but it was SO good and so filling. It was a great spot that seemed to mix the area's passion for good food, culture, and art. I'd totally go back if we returned to Santa Fe. read more

My other takeaway is that the seating is a bit cramped and the overall experience is slooow. We arrived on time for our reservation but had to wait 15-minutes to be seated despite a reservation. Ok not the worst, and ordering was prompt, but appetizers didn't reach our table until 45 minutes after we were seated. The server said he'd bring dessert menus but didn't, so after maybe 5 minutes, I asked for our check. I got it, but the server disappeared and I ended up paying at the counter. The eggs were light but this omelette was packed heavy with ingredients and flavor. I had three different salsa options: red chile salsa, green chile salsa, or tomatillo salsa. I went with the green chile salsa because I'm in New Mexico so it seemed like the obvious choice and it was great. It wasn't too spicy and had a lot of flavor. I went with french bread toasted on the side and I didn't know it was gonna come with a jelly!! I'll be real, I'm not a jelly/jam/compote kinda girl but whatever this was was beautiful and I ate all of it with the bread. I also chose black beans and they were cooked perfectly. The restaurant decor and ambience is 10/10. Super cute and very fun. The yummy treats at the front counter look amazing. The breakfast menu is large and looks really good. We were there for lunch. We shared the roasted butternut squash and yogurt salad and the grilled chicken sandwich. We left saying, "that was really interesting. I'm glad I tried that, but I wouldn't order it again." The butternut squash/yogurt salad was very different. The majority of the greens on the salad were parsley and mint, so it was extremely herbaceous. The yogurt was VERY smoky in flavor. I wasn't a huge fan. When you combined the two together, they were a bit less overwhelming. It was a pretty weird salad, to be honest. But, I'm glad I tried it. The grilled chicken sandwich was ok. It needed more chicken and maybe some more veggies. It was very one-note even with the cheese and sautéed onions. The green chile cornbread was again, interesting. Four of us went to dinner here this evening. The service was below average and the food was not of high quality. A Mexican shrimp cocktail had only a few pieces of shrimp. A steak was supposed to be a ribeye but was obviously a poor quality version of a filet. The filet looked like a flatiron and of low quality. The reason why I can only give 3 stars has nothing to do with food or service. I checked my credit card statement today and noticed that they charged me more than I signed the credit card slip for.
