The young lady who waited on me was pleasant enough. The atmosphere was good. However, when I mentioned that I only got 1 piece of toast with a $14 breakfast, I was never checked on again except to drop my ticket and to let me know I could pay whenever I was ready. The breakfast wasn't even average. I got the sampler and the the bacon and sausage were both pretty grease soaked from having sat to long. You'd think for, actually $13.75, it would be fresh cooked. My husband and I got in fast. Our waiter was great and took care of us from beginning to end. He was awesome. The place was like a cute little diner? Nothing over the top. My hubby got oj and I got fruit punch. So while we were waiting for our food my husband was like " don't look behind you " of course I turn around while he was smushing a bug on the wall with his napkin , he wouldn't tell me what it was. I kind of lost my appetite. I ordered pancakes with turkey sausage and the hubby got the western scrambler. The pancakes were huge , I mean HUGE.. I got warm syrup also. Hubbys plate was huge also with eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy. I had a couple of bites my pancakes and the sausage and I was good no appetite really, hubby ate a little of his food , he said it was ok but greasy. I will first start out with we came based on a great review from the Nextdoor app. Second food was great. I had a panini which was very tasty. My son had silver dollar pancakes and they where huge. Little guy couldn't finish them. My husband got the chicken fried chicken. The breading tasted good but there was more breading then chicken. The reason for such a low rating is because of the service. We entered and got seated quickly, but people who came in before us and after us had already been given drinks and ordered not to mention got there food before we even ordered ours. We almost left it was that noticeable. I mean we where the youngest people in there at the time but no excuse. If you go down on the reviews, there's an instance of a black lady being completely ignored by the wait staff. These people are down south racist, beware if you are a non-white customer. I was excited to try this place out, went there. Seated did not get asked what I wanted for a drink. There's a new cafe in town, and it's locally owned and not a chain franchise. It's called "Cafe Republic" located in North Fort Worth. It's perfectly located and there's no other sit down cafe near it; their main focus is breakfast. It opens at 7 am and closes at 3 pm. It's worth your time to find it. You know you have arrived when you see this nice signage in very large block letters CAFE REPUBLIC located at 8640 North Beach just north of Tarrant Pwky. You will be greeted with a nice clean and groomed exterior building and some nice 'The State of Texas' park style benches as you approach the front door, and inside just in case there's a bit of waiting on a busy morning. But, today there was no waiting, there is a nice greeter at the front of the cafe to lead you to a nice table or to a booth. Then you hear some of those country-western tunes that you'll be familiar with in the background as part of the ambiance, loud enough to please ears and not overbearing as you can still have a pleasant conversation at the table Texas-style. The interior is very clean and neat and your eyes will be immediately drawn to the far wall with the Texas flag design and Fort Worth on the wall. The tables are clean and well-stocked with the premium jams and jellies and sea salt and black peppercorn you grind shakers and your favorite hot sauces. The price is right for the top exceptional quality food you will be served and the serves sized adequately for the square plate. It's a great value for the money and top quality of the food. They have their secrets, but you'll love Italian coffee. Now the orders. I ordered the Veggie Omelet and the hash browns with whole wheat toast. It does not get better than that. It was perfect and delicious. My other order was the 1-2-3- breakfast and hot chocolate. Extra-large grade A eggs, crisp bacon, and the perfect tasting pancake and syrup. The wait staff were helpful and check back after the food was served to make sure your dining experience was nice and your service is what is expected. They have done a lot of behind the counter work to serve you top quality from the Segafredo Zanetti coffee and the freshly squeezed orange juice and bread they served as toast. It gets it my five-star review and I recommend it. Everything was delicious. They'll have something on the menu you will surely enjoy. I did not notice anything that was not thought of on my first visit. I know I'll be back and I hope my next review is the same. I'm sure they'll be receiving awards in the future. Customer service and cafe itself was great. My husbands omelet & hash browns were very good. I was disappointed in the Belgium waffle. It was light but would have been better if it had been crispy on the outside and a bit more flavorful. The same with the biscuit. The bacon was excellent. You know about a month ago I ate here the food was good till I found a hair in my breakfast. I said something to the manager who also was the owners wife she was nice and said she would take off the meal well she did but not my meal she took of the cheapest meal in the ticket I had two other people with me. And then as I left I meet someone friends I was of course upset not really about the damn hair just her attitude. So as I was leaving he asked how it was I said okay except for my hitch hiker on my food then the owners wife proceeded to follow me out the door. Luckily for her the Boy Scouts where there collecting presents for Christmas I was just surprised she had followed me out needless to say my experience there was less then desirable and I would not go back again not because of the hair but because of the owners wife and how she treated me. My son and I visited Cafe Republic for breakfast this morning, and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. This was a Taco Villa before, and they have done an amazing job of restoring it to a very comfortable restaurant. The food was outstanding. I tried the Alamo tacos that are made with brisket and that brisket is no joke. So, the food is great, the staff is friendly and they are huge supporters of first responders. I got to visit with one of the owners, Jimmy, and just a great guy who seems to genuinely care about people. Probably why the service is so good, and why the owners as a whole support first responders. I have been involved in law enforcement my entire adult life and love supporting local businesses who support military, police, fire, paramedics, etc, and they certainly do. So, I will certainly be supporting them with my breakfast dollars. Its win win. read more

This place needs work. Where to begin...I'm pretty sure the scrambled eggs were fake. The breakfast sausage can be described with one word, disgusting. What comes with some of the meals doesn't make sense. For example the eggs Benedict also comes with your choice of bread... it already has bread, give us some potatoes as the side or something else besides more bread. For all the vegans...good luck. Not one single vegan item that I could find. Vegetarians will be hard pressed to find many options either. They've only been open for a short time so hopefully this changes. The food was ok, small portions for the price. We called in an order and they said it would be 5 minutes but it ended up being about 15 until it was ready. French toast seems like it's made with regular sliced white bread and was not browned evenly at all (kind of a French toast snob). Also, didn't give butter or syrup, so all that was on it was a bit of whipped cream, so it was pretty dry... Maybe it would have been different if we had eaten there. My wife had asked for white toast and they gave wheat. The corned beef hash was decent, but again small portion for the price. The people there were EXTREMELY nice!
