Café Soleil has a nice little vibe, low lighting but yet still gave a liveliness with nice little hip crowd will go to. The customer service hands-down was very nice attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious. I didn't get much cause I had to appetizers. I wasn't really too hungry but when I say the salad was super fresh like everything was crisp had a nice olive oil vinegar dressing on it not too much. Everything was perfect. It was so delicious and the Rio bruschetta was really good interesting with the go and truffle and Honey Taste more like a dessert but it was very lovely. I enjoyed the time I was there. read more

This place surprised me! I love the location in the center of SoHo but it wasn't that crowded. I got a matcha latte, which was good, avocado toast and steak and eggs. The steak and eggs I would highly recommend. It comes with sauce, which I'd recommend on the side. It's a heaping portion, could for two people or a solid meal. DONT GO HERE. we went to buy drinks at 11 AM when they started serving alcohol on the day of the knicks parade and they refused to serve us. We are all 21 and they refused to serve us for no reason because i have melanin and am dominican. we were willing to pay our hard earned money and they refused because we had to use the bathroom. the aisan manager woman had no reason to deny us and she still did because apparently she thought we were under 21. literally had no reason to deny us and still did just because we had to use the bathroom even thought we were going to buy multiple drinks. read more

As I shopped in Soho, my partner found this spot for us to take a break from all the walking boy did he find a good one! as I was walking, I asked for suggestions from a friend that used to live in the area and they also suggested this place right off the bat. He ordered an espresso martini to begin, but mention how it was so strong when I arrived, I also ordered an espresso martini but added cream, and it was absolutely delicious and exactly what I needed to continue the day. Were passing by the bustling outdoor seating area at the front of the restaurant, so we took a seat to observe the passerby's and enjoy the last warm evening of the season. Indoor seating was very dark and cramped. Chill vibe, modern pop hits played in the background. Outdoor seating was also super tight--we literally participated in conversations of couples sitting right next to us. NYC and space constraints--gota make the most out of limited sidewalk area right by the restaurant. This is not a place for good food. Everything is mediocre and overpriced. This is a good spot for drinks--$16 gusano [mezscal, honey, spiced salt] hit the spot and was a perfect blend of flavors that would revive any drained pilgrim. The best thing we ate were $22 half a dozen oysters, which were fresh. $18 escargot was the worst--utterly bland and tasteless. A child can make better escargot with eyes closed--just pour the snails from a can into a dish, cover with oil, add salt. Salting this helped to salvage this sad excuse of a dish. $16 catalan shrimp was okay. Buttery, fatty white wine sauce had decent flavor. Most of the dish consisted of potatas bravas and toasted sourdough [only 5 shrimp in the portion]. $17 fluke & tiger shrimp ceviche was nothing to write about. Your typical, forgettable ceviche, that had more filler than seafood. Service was standard. You can find better spots with tastier food, more space, and cooler ambiance. Opened this place in Apple Maps and was so surprised to see a lower rating. I've been coming here sporadically for 10 years and have always enjoyed it! Hostesses have been nice fitting me in. I usually come for late-night drinks before going out but recently came for brunch and breakfast and it was also really good. Good food, friendly servers. We came from Brooklyn for fondue and it did not disappoint!! Jerry was our server and he was excellent. We also stopped by the speakeasy through the kitchen and Carlos made us amazing drinks. Perfect late night French Swiss spot. showed up around 10pm and the kitchen was still open with no rush to close. The raclette was served with 4 slices of toast. It was melted to a plate when it reached the tables with about 4 mini potato pieces and 3 cornishons. This went well with the dry cider. Cozy, warmly lit Swiss / Austrian / German restaurant. Numerous cocktails, and gluhwein (like a warm red wine sangria) in winter. Small wooden tables squeezed folks in, in a charming way with just enough room for everyone. Restaurant smelled like raclette cheese. This is the exact spot you want to pop into after shopping in soho/nolita. Around 4/5 pm on a weekday, it was relatively quiet but provided excellent people-watching. We got cocktails (espresso martini, sangria) and a cheese plate, which provided quite a hefty serving and selection. The prices are pretty much what you'd expect from the neighborhood, the decor is quaint, and the staff is friendly. I don't know if I would go out of my way for this spot, but it'll definitely be a go-to when I'm in the area :) read more

I am so glad we came here for dinner. It gets packed in the evening but if you come here for dinner at around 7-8pm on a weekend - you'll have seating both in and out of the restaurant. My friends and I came here on a girls trip for the weekend. We stumbled upon on this place and were super excited to try it out. Our waiter was incredibly rude, when we asked questions he would answer rudely and condescending. He wouldn't give us the time of day, and when our friends food fell off her plate due to burnt bread he suggested we scoop it off the dirty table and eat it. He refused to replace any of it and said she would have to make another order. With all of us working in the food industry at some point, it's about the customers and how their experience goes. I really dislike giving negative reviews, but this place really disappointed me. Firstly, after taking our order we waited over an hour to get our food. When the food arrived, it was lukewarm. I ordered the hangar steak and it was very subpar - too chewy to enjoy. The escargot was fine, but not the most flavourful. According to my friends, the Zucchini chips were absolutely delicious. I did not try them as I am GF. Finally, at the end of the meal there was a complication with the bill. My friend who booked the reservation had to put down a $20 per person fee in advance, which was supposed to be put towards the meal. When the bill arrived it had not been deducted and had my friend not spoken up, the waiter wouldn't have taken the money off. This in itself was a big ordeal as the waiter had to go back into the kitchen for a while to figure out how to take the money off the bill. This is my second time at Cafe Select and unfortunately I don't think I will be returning. read more

Cool little bistro. Not a bad sized place and at lunch it wasn't too busy. The exterior didn't give a clue to the meat interior. Food was pretty good, slightly towards the pricey side for what you got. I went with a croque monsieur. The bread was the standout. The sandwich itself tasted good, but it really skipped on the ham and cheese filling. There was also a bechamel sauce, but the odd part was it wasn't warm/saucy. It was kind of cooled and spread over the top of the sandwich like butter. (See in the pic) With only a side of potato chips, it was a little pricey for what you got. read more

I arrived during covid times and they have a pretty good setup. If you have a bigger party you can sit inside the little house they have set up with heaters. If your a party of 2 good luck with getting a seat by the restaurant with heaters above the seats, if not you will be in the street freezing. I was lucky and got the heated 2 seated area. I ordered the hanger steak which was delicious. The meat was cooked perfectly and the potatoes and little salad thar came with it was tasty. My friend got the bratworth which was also good. The portions are also a good size. For the restaurants along Lafayette in the small area this is one of the better ones. I'd go back with a larger group next time. read more
