This was my first time back at Cafe Tapioca in years, I'd gone a few times back then to try some drinks but never really liked the flavor personally. I really wanted to like the drinks here because they are an OG for boba places in the area, family owned and here since 2003 which I can appreciate as a local who grew up here! I will say the store is always clean has lots of seating and even some games that you could sit and play. The staff always was kind when I came in too which is very nice! Fast forward to now, I had noticed I got an email from them the other day about a birthday gift to receive a free regular Royal Milk Tea which is a very nice offer that they have for their clients. So I thought hey why not give it another try! I unfortunately didn't really like the flavor of this drink either it was kind of plain to me and the boba seemed like it was maybe a lil bit old. I haven't ever tried the food here but I've seen lots of positive reviews of it, maybe I will have to give their food a try sometime in the future. I go to this store pretty often and pretty happy about them to customize my drink. But recently, I went there twice. One at 12 and the other time at 12:30. Both time I went there, they told me the large tapioca is not ready. Pretty disappointed. If your store open at 11am, should that means everything should be ready to operate at 11am? Hope your store can improve that a little on that. read more

3 1/2 stars. Take-out-only. Honey de-caffeinated black milk tea with real honey with egg pudding. Perhaps a bit too much as it's sweeter than I wish for. The man picked up some egg pudding from a medium jar to add on top of the beverage. Wish it was a bit more but the beverage would be overflowed. Avocado smoothie (forgot to ask what other possible ingredients) is waiting to be tasted. I'd suggest the owner/manager to purchase/invest in a stronger beverage container bottle cup as the most sturdiest area is the edge of the cup. Tip: Hold the beverage by the top edge of the cup. Came in here and ordered an avocado smoothie with boba and squid balls. The smoothie was decent but they made it too sugary, despite telling them I wanted light sugar. I've been getting drinks from here for years, but I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere at this point. All of my drinks are totally hit or miss. There have been multiple times when my boba was harder than rocks. I've stopped getting boba in my drinks. I decided to then switch to grass jelly and when I took a sip it felt like I was chewing on plastic because it had been sitting out for so long. My friends and family have the same exact complaints. Our first time here and we loved it. Highly recommended. Very clean, comfy and friendly atmosphere. We don't live that far but struggle to find a place that's open around my schedule so it was definitely worth the drive. My daughter loves boba. She had her matcha milk green tea and matcha ice cream. I had the mango ice cream. Very tasty and and inexpensive for the quality of their menu. This is my childhood boba shop!! I loved coming here after school and the owner Eddy is the nicest guy. I came back today for the first time in awhile (since I've moved away) and they've done a ton of redecorating, but the quality of the drinks has remained the same. I've never had a tangerine green tea with green tea jelly anywhere but here, and it's definitely a good go-to. The Double Rainbow Cappuccino Choc Crunch ice cream is super tasty as-is or as a smoothie. Their Thai tea with boba is excellent too! Not to mention the popcorn chicken and potstickers -- so tasty! Good place to visit when I'm with the kids - good for a quick milk tea (with tapioca of course) and a snack if we're hungry. They're friendly but not as fast as one would expect. And they are often out of ingredients, like today, when they told me they didn't have minced pork tofu after I had ordered it (I swapped it for a popcorn chicken sandwich). But the kids like the atmosphere - with the video game table they can sit on, Asian pop songs on the TV, the sofa they can people watch from, and the jewelry and tchotchkes at the counter. I'm not a boba super fan like my teenage daughter but I've been to enough of them to know this place is legit! You can smell the tea brewing as you walk in. And the boba is freshly made because when you get your drink, the top is icy but the bottom is warm. Ooh!!! I ordered an avocado smoothie with 50% sweet. It was perfect. Not too sweet and you can taste the avocado. This is a family-run establishment. They also have ice cream, milk shakes (for people who are not into milk teas, and other hot snacks. The staff is friendly. The setting is super clean and inviting with nice decor and little plants on the table. -- unlike places where the chairs are wobbly, the tables are dirty, sticky, full of crumbs, and customers' gadgets all plugged in to the walls. I love how this place had games so the customers are actually interacting with each other. The tables are big enough to play Jenga or cards. The original boba place of Dublin. Wow. This place has gotten cheap - rude - and lazy! I get it, Covid can cause a lot of stress but.. man. First off, I called on my way towards Dublin from Tracy, to see if I can call ahead and order (which I've done before, np) and they said NOPE order online ONLY, I said I'm driving and just want to order to prevent less contact. We paid for it.. waited... waited... only for the OWNER to come out and say BRING THE CHICKEN BACK INSIDE FROM THE CAR AND WE'LL PUT THE SAUCE ON IT. I said no way, it's already in the car (I'm also pregnant). So we asked them to spare a tiiiiny ice cream cup - he said nope we "have guidelines to follow" I'm sorry but what guidelines????? If you're asking to bring a touched food item BACK into your possession - that's actually against guidelines from what I know. Then the owner says "we can't waste any cups for your sauce" and In my head I though what??? Waste cups? We paid for it! He went back into the register and gave us the money back. Anywho - we tried giving them business during these hard times and they made is extra difficult to have a nice experience. We only wanted sauce we paid for. It was a weird conversation and I would definitely have them inspected for guidelines or something bc they're asking for us to bring food back into their own possession.. very odd. Whereas they couldn't put the sauce in a container and hand it to us. I agree with the other reviewers on the worst customer service. The owner Edward described himself as a fair person on Yelp, really? I get it, COVID makes business harder and more stressful but he is so cheap over a little container for the sauce, requesting for no ice in the drink, charge for the credit card (so many other places have canceled the credit card fee because of the pandemic). He is not flexible about customer's needs and he tried to milk everything out of customers. Does that make your business thrive? No, because I'll be taking it elsewhere. The skinny girl who is always there working is also rude. When I asked for a bag for my drink because I had so much stuff to carry and a baby with me. She was like, "a bag for one drink? Ok?" Seriously? That's why you don't get tips. Do these little things cost a lot? No. But does it cost your business a fortune, yes. I run a business too and I know for a business to thrive, you should learn to put a smile on your face and get to know your customers, tailor to their needs. Being so cheap on trivial things like these just turn your customers away. Their drinks are also very mediocre. Nothing special. Excellent place! Like most places, they are only available for take-out right now because of the pandemic, but be sure to check them out and support your local businesses! The popcorn chicken was really tasty. It must have been made with dark meat because the bites were all really moist and a bit fatty. The sriracha dipping sauce went along very well with it! I also got the Honey jasmine milk tea with boba and it was super tasty. The tapioca was cooked perfectly which is usually my biggest indicator of a good boba place. My wife got the taro and red bean blend which she really enjoyed. FYI, the red bean skins can feel like they are getting stuck in the back of your throat so have some water available to wash it down. Still tasty though! Service was good, easy parking, everything was sanitary, food and drink was excellent. Overall a really good place and worth coming back to! read more

Cafe Tapioca never disappoints. I was dropping off stuff at Savers (donation) a couple of weeks ago when I remembered Cafe Tapioca happened to be nearby. It's been several years since I last stopped by even though from time to time I get a text message if not an email with coupons. When I visited I coincidentally ran into the shop owner. I thought she looked familiar as she told me the same exact thing. haha Cafe Tapioca is the only Boba shop I can find which sells Green Apple Green Tea drink (can request for less sugar) + this shop sells several ice cream along with their standard snacks (i.e. popcorn chicken, french fries, fried tofu, etc etc). A place to play a variety of board games or watch some awesome Korean music videos that you had no idea existed while filling up on sugar and some grub with friends. For those of you who like the "Jamba Juice" half bland taste with little-to-none-fruit-sham-water down-"old mcdonald had a farm" plant-based smoothies...stay there! Because this place give me the authenticity I need in a smoothie and smile to go along with it. Even though they provide tons of options to chose from, I usually just go with Strawberry and Peaches with no tapioca (boring I know, but I like what I like). Finding the perfect combo for you is actually the fun part when coming to this place. The price is acceptable for what you get. The place is pretty low-key. I came here a couple years ago and tried their original milk tea and I really liked the flavor. So I decided to come back here again to get the same thing. Their original milk tea was a bit watery and boba was flavorless. I paid over $6 dollars for a drink so my standards is pretty high especially I'm an avid boba drinker. Btw the cash register person gave me a bad vibe because she did not greet or welcome me into the shop. She basically nod her head and waiting for my order, then made my drink less than 30 seconds and walked away with it. Personally, if your drinks doesn't taste so good, you should reevaluate on what to do better to provide adequate services to your customers at the very least. Craving bubble tea on a hot day, this was the closest option and I was pleasantly surprised. Their lychee black tea was really, really good - in that you can taste the depth of flavor of the black tea they use, while also getting the refreshing floral lychee flavor. Top marks for that one! The passionfruit green tea came off as sweet to me despite the 25% sugar level - I guess it's all that syrup that can't be helped. It was good and exactly what I needed but I couldn't really taste the green tea in there - and that's just probably because it's a mild tea to begin with. We also got the popcorn chicken with mild spice and I was slightly disappointed. It was definitely still good to eat but felt like it wasn't seasoned all that well, and I've had better elsewhere. We ordered royal tea with boba and popcorn chicken. I'll start off with the chicken as 6/10 and the reason is that the portion is ehhh, the spice wasn't mixed well/shaken, and wasn't aware of paying 1.25 for sauce. The girl could've offered the sauce/basil so we could've paid just .25 cent. The Boba score is 8/10, enough to satisfy my boba carvings. I'm giving some slack since it's end of the day and of course it's not fresh boba so it's whatever. I'm not sure I'll come back unless it's convenient and boba only. read more

Overdue review. Been coming here for a while and just never got a chance to write one. See my check ins My favorite place for avocado boba. They make the best of all the other places we've tried with just the right sweetness and they always have avocado. Other places (1 in particular that I use to always go to) run out mid day. I love their new interior upgrade. Looks way more trendy, modern and welcoming. They have a cool farm table bench. Great for groups. Not a huge space...would probably fit about max 20 peeps? But still good place to go. We regularly come here for after school treats too. We normally get calamari, avocado shake and play their in house board games. Dear owners: please invest in new board games. The ones you have need to be replaced. They are so old and looks like mold is growing on some of the cards . We like their calamari although I feel they should put a little more for the price. You order it spicy, mild or none. Still need to try the other foods. They also got popcorn chicken and fries. Haven't tried them yet, but they also have a small selection of ice cream flavors. Attention Snoopy lovers, they have a selection of Snoopy trinkets along with other small things like keychains and treats/candies. This place is located in a quiet plaza. Never had any problems finding parking. The only drink I have ever ordered from this place is the Royal milk tea with pearls (regular amount of ice). I'm not sure why I am not ordering other drinks. Nothing exciting but it is safe and always consistent. Service is good. The snack pics from fellow Yelpers look appetizing. Have been trying to cool down in the 100°+F heat wave. Decided to get a boba to cool off. Stopped by at Cafe Tapioca. As soon as you walk in, the place smells faintly of Sanrio's bubblegum erasers. Lol.. Brings back a lot of teenage memories. Besides being a boba place, they also sell Snoopy cups, popular animation keychains, assorted Hi-Chew gums as well as snacks. There are numerous games available to play when sit-in dining is allowed again. Ordered a Pina Colada smoothie with tapioca pearls. Nice flavor and thickness despite it being pricier than other typical boba tea places. Gotta try anyplace once. As a sidenote, there is a sign that states this place gets sanitized by UV light. My friends and i came here after dinner to find a place to chill. There is some seating in here, but not a lot. I got the avocado smoothie and it turned out really good. They have some items for sale here, but it's so cool that it's snoopy items. You can do some add ons to your drink like tapioca, pudding and jelly. The rose syrup already has sugar in it apparently, so you don't need the extra sugar water (unless you want to increase your chances of getting diabetes). I was kind of hesitant when she told me the drink was being made with a syrup... but was pleasantly surprised when the drink had real rose leaves in it! The chicken has held its own over time, but the tea has gone downhill for me. The ginger tea had some real ginger that kept coming up to the top that I honestly didn't want to eat with each sip, and my strawberry milk tea separated once I left the store. I used to love the strawberry hearts, but they're the normal long strips of jelly now. Minus one star for not being able to drink my strawberry drink. We found this little gem while boba searching. First off, the place is completely awesome. The modern/minimalist look and feel is great. It's like a little coffee shop, except it's a boba place. They sell random knick knacks, such as key chains, bottles, etc. The drinks were great as well, but not so much the strawberry milk tea, since it was really sour for some reason. They recently did a complete remodel, and it looks GORGEOUS! It's definitely more a modern look. The customer Service is great, the guy (owner?) greets everyone that comes in and they even actually answer the phone now! A definite plus for me because sometimes I am in the area for lunch and last minute decide to pick something up but don't have the time (or patience) to wait. Also a new feature they have is online order, which is wonderful! I recently ordered an Avocado smoothie w/ tapioca for me and a Mocha icy for my friend, we both LOVED our drinks. I also ordered the spicy chicken for us, and neither one of us could really enjoy it; waayyyy too much spice! It was over bearing how spicy and powdery it was!
