Great food! My family and I came here on a Saturday around 10:30ish. It was surprisingly easy to find a table for 5 people. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the bacon breakfast sandwich and hash browns for about $10.00. It was good! I'll definitely come back here again when I visit Carlsbad. read more

My review is for brunch on Mother's Day. We waited in line and then waited for food. It took a total of an hour and a half. The food finally came out, and it was good, but not worth waiting more than an hour for. If it had been another day, I think I would have enjoyed it better. On another note, when we were in line, we were the third in line and the customers in front of us told us to take the table that was available because their party was going to sit outside. And the customer ordering had another member of their party save a table, so I walked up to the empty table. However, an employee told me I couldn't sit there since I had not ordered yet. When I looked around, there were couple tables that were being saved by people who have not ordered yet. So I waited until we ordered to sit. And after we sat, it took 40 minutes for the food to come out. read more

A hidden gem that I stumbled across today! I had the bbq chicken salad and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is adorable, clean, and comfy. The ambience is casual yet super nice. We just moved to the area and happened into this cute little spot. Well decorated, welcoming atmosphere that serves fun food options and great coffee and tea. They also serve CARDIFF CRACK!! We got a Cardiff Crack Benedict that was simple but very tasty. We topped it off with some well brewed stumptown coffee. OH, our son got the Mama's cinnamon roll (dirty) and it was massive! We all took a couple of bites and it was pretty amazing. The frosting on top was super lite, no too sweet and really good. We would definitely eat here again. read more

I absolutely love this cute, earthy cafe in Carlsbad. The employees are so sweet and friendly. The food, oh my goodness the food was beyond delicious. I'm a sucker and lover for steak and eggs and this place has one of the best I've ever had. The steak was juicy and packed with flavor, i slathered my sunny side up eggs on it. Mmmmm. So amazing. Ended it with their to die for cinnamon roll. Now that roll is a god. It's one of the employee's mother's recipe, you can taste the home cooked essence. This place is AMAZING! They did a wonderful job with the decor; reclaimed wood and a beautiful living wall. The service was super friendly and the menu was phenomenal! It is one of those menus that makes it hard to decide because EVERYTHING looks delicious. I ended up getting the Mexican Benedict (owners recommendation) with chorizo, avocado and chipotle hollandaise. It was awesome! I had my eye on the pork belly Benedict but I passed when brother in law ordered it so we could divide and conquer. I sampled it and it was delicious. The fruit that came on the side was fresh and a great variety, watermelon, cantaloupe, blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. This place isn't a sit down with a server kind of place. Cute little restaurant hidden from the main hub of downtown Carlsbad. There is more outside seating than inside seating but the overall ambience is very relaxed and cool. Had to go grab servers attention for my first cup of (bitter) coffee after watching two tables that came later get served, and then they wanted $.50 for refills-really? When we finally got our breakfast, poached egg was inedible, owner commented himself that honey's sunny-side up were over cooked. Dry toast came out...you guessed it... Slathered in butter. And the "famous" cinnamon roll? Reminded me of a thick pancake with a bit of cinnamon and frosting. read more

Stopped here with friends from Colorado as we were driving from San Diego up to Laguna after reading some Yelp reviews. Casual indoor-outdoor dining. Get a number after ordering and find a table. We were there for breakfast and all enjoyed our various dishes from typical egg and bacon, yummy breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich and another dish...with egg, avocado, etc. Everything was delicious and the almond milk latte...not only beautiful but so perfectly tasting. I live down the street from this café and have become friends with the family through the years I have been visiting for breakfast, lunch, business meetings. The food is organically sourced and consistently incredibly tasty and unique. They have the best cinnamon rolls I have ever tasted in my life and I somewhat see myself as a connoisseur in this area LOL. They use Cardiff crack for some of the dishes which is sourced out of Seaside market in Solana Beach which simply is addictive. The country gravy is amazing and makes for incredible country fried steak and eggs. Unlike a lot of cafés the coffee is very well sourced and incredibly delicious. I believe they use Stumptown coffee as they go to supplier. The family also owns the goods which is a donut store in the village where they make boutique and unique donuts that are literally of the charts good. I highly suggest you try both of these locations for you and your family. You will not regret it. There is a long libe outside on the weekends however the line goes very fast so it is worth hanging around to get your table and enjoy the food. read more

This cafe has misleading reviews, BEWARE. Our family visited for breakfast and were very disappointed. The pancakes looked beautiful, but that's all it was. When putting my fork into the pancake it was HARD... HARD.... HARD. And, took a little taste and it was terrible. Wow. The service here was great - short conversation with the gentleman at the front who took our order. Our drinks (coffee and tea) were brought out first before our food. My husband said the coffee was good and I enjoyed my loose leaf tea (huge variety of teas). I ordered the Monte Cristo which was, for lack of better words, amazing. It came with a triple berry syrup and I put that on everything. Husband ordered the chicken fried steak called "The James" which had an egg and bacon on top - I had a bite and was impressed with how delicious that was, as well. Likely, one should expect to get a seat outside since it is quite busy and inside seating is limited. I can't wait to go back again. Really great brunch spot! It's right on the corner of a street, so there's plenty of seating outside. We even had a group of 10 on Saturday around 11 am and we got a table. The wait in line to order was about 20 min, and the food came out in another 20 min. No complaints at all! I ordered the Crack n Benedict and the Monte Cristo. The hash browns are really tasty by the way. Crack n Benedict: 5/5 -One of the best Benedict's I've ever had. It was so flavorful from the hollandaise to the tri tip, and I'm not even a big steak person! Monte Cristo: 3.5/5 -Exactly what you'd expect from a monte Cristo but with bacon. Nothing special, but the French toast and the ham still tasted good I would definitely go back for that Benedict! I was excited to try this because of the reviews but was actually disapointed. You have to order before sitting down so there was a constant line. I ordered one of my favorite dishes which was pork belly eggs benedict. I also ordered potatoes crispy. The pork was mostly all fat and sat on my stomach wrong. The potatoes were almost mush and definitely not crispy, and the hollandaise had little flavor. My husband had french toast and eggs and was also not impressed. Overpriced considering there was no table service. No beverage refills were offered and one waitress was wearing an old cardigan full of holes and was not professional looking, it gave the impression of being dirty, even if it was washed it that morning it gave the wrong impression. Sorry, i always try to be positive but couldn't bring myself to be on this visit. read more
