Everything that made it special is either gone or being covered up or poorly utilized. I would have loved to be able to see out the stained glass windows! If the owners wanted a generic ultra modern space, why not buy one? So many already exist. Why butcher a beautiful old building in this way? Just awful. Once I return I see my girl had settled in and has 2 menus wonderful great start About 20-25 minutes go by and no one has come to take our food or drink order. My girl tells me it was the shorter Spanish man with glasses that handed her the menu. I do see that they are somewhat busy.So I stand up and ask this gentleman if he can please come take my order while he was cleaning a table that just finished up. I speak Spanish I am a Hispanic male and in my utopia humans always help each other but theirs a good bond with Hispanics helping Hispanics, Asians helping Asian etc. When I asked him he didn't even look at me and told me that I need to order inside. Fine OK I thought nothing of it ... maybe that's the way people on the lounge chairs order and the people at the tables received help from the waiters kool no problem. I go to the inside area and one of the other writers seemed surprised that I was by the pass area where they would cook and pick up the food and he told me to go to my area that he would come and take the my order. At that moment I knew the BS has started. Over 30 minute wait with no attention, and being lied to by a staffer The waiter comes over takes my order and the food arrives like 10-15minutes later. After he placed the plates down he stared fidgeting and i asked him what's up and he said I had to pay. Strike 3 of the BS. I couldn't take the disrespect at that point no one i repeat no one out of the 8 to 10 tables being serviced while I was their paid right at the point their plates were placed on the table. I expressed my frustration to the waiter and after I summarized the sequence of events he said it's the restaurants rules. I doubled down and said no then he realized they messed up and backed off This ruined my entire experience. I ate flagged them down. Tipped the less I have in about 5 years and got out of that pool side restaurant. It really be your own people. 70 percent of the clientele was elderly boomers. I know I didnt fit the demographic but that shouldn't give them the right to treat me differently. My money is still green. I spent about 400 bucks a night for a special event on my calender and i would expect the adjacent restaurant to treat guest with some sense of hospitality. So disappointed I will never return.
