Came in with no expectation. I've tired their Savory Bomb on a Bagel, Shakshuka, Strawberry Pancake, and Boston-Cheese Steak. None of them were overwhelming nor greasy. Some breakfast places loves to go crazy on sauces and big ingredients. As for Cafe Weekend, I believe they were going for something more light and filling. I believe they delivered this pretty well. Personally, it's fun sitting by the bar and watch the workers make our food. I did have food coma at the end of the meal so if you need to work or study after, be careful. I'd also think this is a perfect place for friends and family to eat -especially cute dates. Interior was solid. I was finally able to visit this newer brunch spot and had such a great time! The food was delicious, our waiter/server was attentive and kind. We got the chocolate chip pancakes (they're kind of like the soufflé style pancakes), the shakshuka (super hearty with meatballs, and the pickled peppers were a nice kick), and the matcha croffle (lovely dessert to end the meal). A bit of a wait, but understandable for it being lunchtime and a small space. We ordered a Boston Cheese steak, croffle, and Drop the Egg. I've never had a croffle before, and it was as expected, though harder than I anticipated -- the steak knife that came along with it made sense. The Boston Cheese steak was fine, but it felt like eating just bread. There wasn't much filling. For $14.50, I expected much more. The Drop the Egg was really good, but I couldn't finish the last bite in the end because the sauce became a bit too overwhelming (I'm not great with sweet things). I LOVE Cafe Weekend. It is the most perfect breakfast, brunch and lunch spot. The staff here are absolutely amazing and so so lovely. The food is ALWAYS delicious. Everything you can get here is stellar; I recommend the french toast and the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The coffee is delicious and strong as well. If it isn't a weekend you will be sat promptly and get your food quickly. Obviously weekends will have some wait time but to be expected. For such a small place they really make it work and are so great about seating people: they are always 100% honest about wait time as well, and if anything will overestimate to make sure you aren't disappointed. I come here every weekend with my boyfriend and have never been disappointed. I wish the best for Cafe Weekend, it is the best breakfast around. read more

Average food at best. Not worth 30+ minute wait. Food is fine but not 4.5 stars on yelp fine. Had omelette, it was overcooked and not very tasty. Home fries were good though. Wife had french toast. Was ok, but they should offer real maple syrup to make it better. Tea was Trader Joe's tea and I massively object to 3$ for Trader Joe's tea bag. Coffee was not good. Improperly brewed bulk starbuck variety prob bought from Costco. The shashuka looked good and they had some other fancier French toast that looked better. Guess I should have taken into account this area caters to hung over 20 somethings who have low standards. This I guess is an Allston 4.5 which is a 3 everywhere else. This place has been on my brunch list for quite some time based on great Yelp reviews. I finally made it here today and it did not disappoint. It being Saturday, the place was mobbed as expected, but they have a great login system where you put your name snd phone number and they text you when the table's ready. Love it. 20 minutes later after a stroll around Mr. Music, we get the text the table is ready and we're promptly seated. They are a well-oiled machine over there, beautiful sight to behold. Got the egg/cheese on brioche which was delicious and fresh. Husband got the steak and cheese omelet with delicious home fries, crispy and delish. Even added on a croffle, which is basically a croissant, flattened out in a waffle iron. Ingenious and delicious! Staff all incredibly gracious, efficient and kind. So glad I came. read more

Obsessed with this place. We stopped here for breakfast on our way out of the city. Their drip coffee and chai tea latte were the perfect start to our day. The ham and American cheese omelette was gooey deliciousness. One of the best omelettes I have ever had. The home fries and bacon were perfectly crispy. The waiter (they have only one for the entire place) is super nice and friendly. The service was the best part of the brunch. In terms of ambiance, it is very IKEA like. The prices are average for what you get. What I did not like is that they charge extra for things like Whipped Cream, for example. First of all, the cafe interior is gorgeous! Such a nice and clean vibe. I had blueberry cream cheese croffle and cream latte, and the latte was creamy and the croffle was nice and warm. Even the staff members I've interacted with were all really nice. This is such a hidden gem. My bf and I love this place. The iced coffee and latte is very good here. We love the croffles (croissant waffles- they have a lot of flavors), the strawberry pancakes, and the Shakshuka. It's always very yummy and satisfying- at a good price. Orange juice is freshly squeezed too. The waiter/host is a young Korean guy that is very nice and professional! There's never too long of a wait when we come for breakfast on the weekends but it's a small place so it does get crowded. read more

a solid brunch spot. try the soufflé pancakes! they are so fluffy and bouncy and so fun to eat. definitely my favorite thing that i tried. the hazelnut croffle wasn't anything special, i feel like it would have been better if it came out warmer, it was a little hard to eat b/c the croissant had hardened and a little too sweet for my liking. shakshuka was super yum, i will probably ask for more bread next time. i got a dalgona coffee, remember the whipped coffee? it was like a throwback to beginning of the pandemic when everyone was making whipped coffee lol. the bathroom is in the basement but you have to walk through the kitchen down the stairs into the corner of the basement, so it was a little scary. gets super busy too, and the place isn't that big so i would not recommend for bigger groups. our waitress was super friendly and accommodating. pancakes are a must try if you go! read more

Decided to try this place for brunch after seeing all the amazing reviews but was immediately disappointed. My friend and I came on a Sunday afternoon.We knew that it would be busy so we tried to join the waitlist in advance. My friend and I waited 40 minutes for our turn just to find out that our reservation was removed. When we tried to go inside the restaurant to figure out what happened, we were ignored and could not get a response. I've passed this little cafe a few times while making my way through Allston and I've noticed that it is always packed. Today, I finally got the chance to stopped in and checked it while it was less busy. The staff were wicked pleasant and friendly. From my perspective, the food was ok. I had ordered the avocado toast on sourdough. Although, I had requested for scrambled eggs on top of my toast, I ended up receiving a sunny side up instead. Which I find quite funny because from one of the reviews I had read, someone stated that "they do not listen to the customer's orders". Anywho, the avocado toast with sunny side up egg was decent. It tasted as it sounded. We also had ordered chocolate chips pancakes, which came out pretty dry. We didn't find the pancakes soft and fluffy at all. I had also ordered an iced Taro latte, which was phenomenal! That was most likely the best iced latte I've ever had. I'd probably come back for more of the Taro latte.
