Cafe Yumm is a decent stop when you need a light meal and dont mind a lil hippy food. As Valerie W mentioned, the yumm sauce throws the "healthy" aspect out the window. BUT....I love the yumm sauce and my matabolism seems to deminish the fat and calories. In all honesty, I wouldn't be able to eat the food without it. It would be too bland for my tastes... None the less....rice, avacado, olives, cheese, tomato, kidney beans and cilantro all mixed up is a great little combonation. Now if it had bacon and came with a beer we would have a COMPLETE meal. This is usually a Sunday option for me since they're open and other options I would prefer are not. Service has been kind, this establishment feels a bit cramped at the counter, but on the other hand the seating is open and spacious. I'll take that trade any day, even though I order out 99% of the time. If you want to add chicken to your bowl it's an extra $2.00, and if your getting a large, that's putting your bowl right around $10. I think that's a bit too spendy for what it is at that point. read more

We went here because of the rave reviews on Yelp, but left sorely disappointed. Pros: Nice looking restaurant with great marketing. They have pictures inside and messaging that really makes you want to try their food. They also push the whole organic thing well. Cons: Overpriced wannabe Chipotle burrito bowls that tastes like airport food. We were joking that it tasted like premium prison food. Portions are tiny and the Yumm sauce tastes like old and runny nacho cheese. Very bland taste and looks like stuff you could throw together at a Sizzler salad bar. Extra chicken for $2 is a ripoff since they give you about 5 tiny slices of boiled chicken. Cafe Yumm, I am hooked on you. I was delightfully pleased to see the menu at this restaurant after my initial guess was that Cafe Yumm served sushi. Instead, I found a list of mouthwatering fusion bowls centered around a tasty, vegetarian base. On my first trip I opted for the Chilean Zucchini Bowl. I didn't quite know what to think about the exotic, lemony Yumm sauce layered in with my rice, veggies and salsa. The flavor is distinct and the creamy sauce serves to join all the bowl's myriad, healthy ingredients. Sure enough, a day or two after my first Bowl...I needed another. And I mean need. I got my fiance addicted on his first trip with the sticky barbecue tofu skewers and delicious cole slaw. Upon my asking if non-bbq tofu was available, I was presented with a dish of joyously spongy, sauteed tofu nuggets. I highly recommend adding these to any of the standard Bowl items. The strawberry lemonade is also wonderful. Some day I'm sure I'll be able to tear myself away from the Chilean Zucchini and try one of the tempting wraps, salads or sandwiches here. For now, I religiously order the same item each time I visit. The staff is always friendly, happily offering up samples of the day's soup or accommodating meal modifications. The space is clean and modern with interesting, cohesive decor elements. Visit at your own risk...you'll be coming back often. Oh, and order the medium rather than the small. Defying categorization, I called this fast food. Because it's pretty fast. Really, it's like the Whole Bowl with production line and more options (I've only been to the carts, so don't quote me). The Yumm Bowl is simple, seemingly healthy fare. Brown rice, avocado slices, black beans, yumm sauce, and some veggies. The large isn't all that large, and is a bit steep at 6.75. The smoky is similar, but with an adobo twist. For the most part the menus is bowls. They also have skewers. Items tend to be asian- or mexican-inspired. Overall, I'm happy to have this joint within walking distance of the office. Nothing amazing, but a decent, quick lunch. read more

This was my first time in a Cafe Yumm and I am so delighted. I didn't really know what to expect so I based my choice on the menu descriptions. I chose the Baby Yumm and it was perfect. I got it with everything included and chicken. The guy who served me at the register was super friendly, and even gave me an extra soda. For a quick healthy meal you can't beat Yumm! We've eaten here four or five times and the food and service been great each time. This includes once when the line to order was outside the door. It took less than five minutes to order and we had our food in another ten. The last time we were there I wanted to make a modification to one of their bowls because I wanted brown rice not white and the cashier quickly pointed out that what I wanted was a Hot and Smokey from their secret menu. So if your a regular spend some time and google their secret menu for some tasty combos and impress your friend, LOL. Their WiFi is a little spotty on the patio but works great inside. The one negative that I've found is there chicken add to the bowls. It's overpriced for the amount that they give you. The time I ordered it each bite of chicken was $0.25. Since then I just get a large bowl for an extra dollar and skip the chicken. One of the better fast food alternatives around. It's on my regular rotation. read more

Summary: Don't eat here I received raw greyish meat on a skewer. I went here for lunch take out. I've been here before so I thought there wasn't going to be any problems, it was just busy but moved along fast everyone was here for their lunch break and a lot of people were lined up getting take out. Went fast. I got home took out all my food my yum bowl was fine, made currently. I ordered a tofu skewer. Usually wrapped in foil with the sauce on the side. I RECEIVED RAW MEAT ON A SKEWER. I am so disappointed in this location, all locations now. Idk wtf that was about. It was greyish/purple/brown colored meat reminded me of liver. It smelled terrible. Totally reminds me of dissecting a pig in school, old really dead disrespected meat. I was so confused by this, my friend was over I showed her and it didn't look right to her either. The Hot n Jazzy bowl with added southwest tofu was the best bowl I've had thus far at this place. The sesame jalapeno dressing was great, as was the spicy tofu, which I was given generous serving for $1 extra. Only bad thing about this place, they are inconsistent with their servings especially for avocado. I got like 2 small slices and my boyfriend got like half an avocado, but yet again he got less chicken than I had tofu. Overall, the flavors and the yumm sauce can't be beat. read more

We visit Cafe Yumm every month or so. Great taste, and the size of the medium bowl is OK for a lite lunch, but would be pretty small for dinner; might need to order additional items to get full. Does get crowded during the normal lunch time, but we normally try to time our visits after 1PM and have always found an empty table. Prior to today I'd have given 5 stars, but we discovered something today. We had thought these bowls were diet friendly: apparently not! Nearly 800 calories for our medium sized bowls, and 21/22 WeightWatcher points. This was tough on my wife who only is allowed 26 WeightWatcher points for an entire day. Minor problem with their parking lot. Most (all?) nearby spaces are marked for compact cars. We have a smaller hatchback (2 door), and twice I've had cars park on "the line" next to me that prevented me from opening my door. We now search out an end spot to keep my door clear. 5 stars for taste, downgraded for the other reasons. read more

Date Visited: Sunday 7/5/09 (Brunch) After a nice walk in the Tualatin Hills Nature Park, my fiance and I walked over to Cafe Yumm. We had one previous visit and he's been trying to go back ever since. The walk to the Cafe was nice as it was a beautiful morning. We had called around 9:30 a.m. and were told the Cafe would be open at 10. Unfortunately, at 10 until we left, we were the only people in there. I guess Sunday mornings aren't meant to be prime eating hours, especially at this particular location. The Cafe is situated at the corner of Murray and Millikan. There are businesses around there, but it's not a big weekend hotspot. If you didn't know the Cafe was there, you'd simply drive by and miss it every time. I ordered the Southwestern Tofu Wrap. I was expecting a small neatly wrapped tortilla. Instead, I got a monstrous tortilla (cheese melted on it) overflowing with seasoned tofu, salsa, and avocados. It was filling. It was good. It was fast. I really enjoyed it. I'm glad we were walking so much because I needed to work off the food. The staff was SO nice. The girl who took our order was so happy - unnaturally so on a Sunday morning. It was a good morning because of them and I can't wait to make it a normal place to have a meal. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian. I'm not even a "healthy eater" most of the time. But I love Cafe Yumm...it tastes good, that's all. I think there is something addictive in the Yumm Sauce, because I crave it all the time. Good thing they sell it on-site in bottles; it's kind of spendy, but then so are most addictive drugs. The Yumm bowl is quite possibly the perfect fast food creation...Latin with maybe a tiny touch of Asian, and it's in a bowl so you're less likely to slop it all over than if it were a burrito. Beans, rice, veggies, and the all-important Yumm Sauce with maybe some sour cream and salsa are all it is, but boy is it good. It doesn't taste like it should be good for you, but I'm pretty sure it is. My recommendation is to get a Jazzy Yumm bowl and a chocolate-dipped ginger cookie. Then, if you don't live near a Yumm and/or can't afford to eat there a lot, pick up a bottle of the Yumm Sauce and take it home. I've learned that if you buy some beans, rice, olives, avocado, cilantro and salsa (all of which you can get cheap and stretch out over several bowls), and add some Yumm Sauce, (and you aren't a terrible cook) you can come reasonably close to a Yumm bowl without having to make the trip. However, please give this place as much of your business as you can because it's cool. read more

This little chain from Eugene reminds me of an old forgotten Macheezmo Mouse. Service is OK, but the consistency in freshness and cooking is what makes this little chain stand out from many others. Most of the dishes are vegetarian, and if you are after some meat they do serve chicken too. My favourite dish is the "hot 'n' jazzy" bowl which has jasmine rice, red beans and jalapeno sesame salsa. If you like the salsas, you can also buy them in a bottle at the counter. One thing that I discovered is that the jalapeno sesame salsa goes well in marinating white fish (cod or halibut). read more

First time here I didn't know what to get, so the person at the register suggestive a few small things that were cheap. I had half a sandwhich, a soup, and a small yum bowl. Everything was really fresh, I could see them making it. The yumm bowl was by far the best! I am wary of different places "secret sauces" but the yumm sauce really surprised me! I never heard of this place before but my friend here in Oregon said a lot of them go there for lunch and that it's a chain but in Oregon. I've never been to one nor have I heard of it before. I was pleasantly surprised with my order. Plus they had outdoor seating and some wine and local bottled beer. Overall I liked everything about it. The lady who took our order was super nice and didn't rush me when I was trying to decide what to get. I love that there's a lot of space. I love their YUMM! Bowls. I recommend the tempeh skewers. I'm not vegetarian but they are much better than their tofu or chicken skewers. Portion sizes have been smaller the last 2 times I've been there. For instance, yesterday, my large Yumm bowl was served as more of a 'medium' sized bowl. And, I added chicken to my bowl and there was hardly any in it My husband got a bowl too & his was also smaller than normal. read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is incredible, and you can customize for some amazing vegan options! It's really affordable, and the staff are some of the friendliest in town. At least once a week my boss sends me to pick up food for her and the rest of the office and looks the other way that it takes about twice my regular lunch period to drive all the way there and back. Yeah, it's that good. Another tip: this is THE place to go if you're sick. It's just about the only thing I can taste when nothing else has a flavor due to evil bacteria takeover.
