No stars the absolute worse experience!! The owner should know how people are treated during lunch time! Now I have been going to this place at least once a week since it is close to my work. Most of the staff should know me by now, especially Juan! Today I call at 11:08 I give my order and place it letting them know I'll be there at 12 as I only have half hour lunch. I get there wait in line only for them not even have my order in file. Silvario was at the register. After 15 min of running around they retake my order now I only have 7 min left of my lunch. I was short $1.00 since I put it in the tip jar ...for the medium and we changed it to small. I give him the money again and he says oh you are off by $.25. Ok so I'll cancel the order. OMG! He had the money oh am I $1 off to $.25 My lunch is over by now... So waisted 30 min No food and lost $1.25 (tip minus no clue $.25 went). Just so rude! Another customer saw the entire thing and offered to help as I was leaving. I thanked him and said no worries because I have to get back in line, order and wait for the food. Cafe Yumm!! A convenient place to go for a quick bite. Reminds me of a Mexican/Asian fusion mix of Subway & Chipotle. Menu is convenient and easy to read. You have your "bowl" sizes and what you would like to have in them. I do love how vegetarian/non dairy friendly they are. If you can't have certain toppings like cheese or sour cream they will replace with extra veggies or avocado. Proteins are served in skewers. So far, I've tried the chicken, tempeh and tofu and DEFINITELY LOVE the tofu. Texture and flavor especially from the sauce helps complete the meal. Every time we've stopped by the ingredients all seemed fresh, made quick and keeps you relatively full. Definitely the highest selling point is their sauces from different (Vegan friendly) bases to a jalapeño seasame salsa. In fact, our first time in - I asked the people ahead of us what they prefer to order and that is exactly what they recommended a yum bowl, with tofu skewer with the tasty salsa. That was definitely the right call. Staff seems to follow safety guidelines and all wear masks and gloves. Place seems really clean and currently no indoor seating is available, but they do have some tables and chairs out on the patio spaced out. Located in a small shopping center filled with a sushi restaurant,medical plaza, 7 Eleven and a cute coffee shop. Parking was really easy and with no hassle. I would recommend this place especially if your looking for a quick bite Togo. I love Cafe Yum, it's one of my all-time favorite restaurants. The bowels are gluten free and one of their cookies is also gluten friendly, as I found out tonight, which is great! I have always been treated well by the staff, I love the decor and feel of the restaurants. They are a little pricey, but oh so tasty. My partner and I tend to order fairly often, when we have the funds. They are also fairly healthy and made with excellent ingredients. My only complaint is that I wish they had more locations across the US, my mom in AZ is very jealous that she can only get Cafe Yum when she comes to visit me. read more

This chain is not bad for a fast food place. It's quick, easy, and very healthy. Not to mention good! The way it works is that they have their menu set with a few different choices and you can get a bowl, wrap, salad, or sandwich. I always go for the bowl and I recommend it to you as well! Each bowl comes with rice, beans, yumm sauce, and some toppings. I have tried almost all their bowls and like them all, even their original is great. The best part is their yumm sauce, I don't know what is in it, but it's amazing! They also sell it for you to take home too, it's not cheap but it lasts a long time. This particular Cafe Yumm is clean, on the larger size and they seem to stay fully staffed. All of the staff are pleasant and you can tell they work really hard. Feel free to eat in the restaurant with some friends or grab it to go. I tried their teriyaki chicken which was entirely too sweet and for the price contained hardly any chicken. It is disappointing to me that the last 3 out of 3 times I have went to this establishment and ordered food for takeaway, I have not gotten exactly what I asked for. Upon ordering at the counter, I have explicitly told the person taking my order, that I would NOT BE NEEDING PLASTIC UTENSILS or napkins. (Since I was taking this straight home, there is no reason to put a plastic fork into my bag that I'm immediately going to place into the rubbish!) They can save that plastic fork and give it to the next person. To review I have verbally expressed this in a polite way to the person at the counter, I have even noticed them input it into the register and it says the words "NO UTENSILS" and I have even seen them take an extra step and verbally pass the message on the next person as a reminder. But, regardless all 3 (Three) times that has been in vain, and sure enough when I got home there were 2 plastic forks in my bag to contribute to more waste that I don't need or want. It is frustrating to me that a company based out of Eugene, OR would not have better awareness for our environment than this, and would take requests to NOT Include things more seriously- hey, it even saves their company $$, cuz its money they don't need to spend on plastic forks with me, and they can save a buck by passing it to the next person. In addition, to the disappointment expressed above^ for the companies disregard for the environment, I think their food quality has gone down a little bit recently. I *love* Cafe Yumm. In reading the reviews here on Yelp I can see that most people who try it do also. Those that don't mostly have a common thread to them. They aren't ordering the bowls. Think of Cafe Yumm as a unique rice bowl place unlike any other and consider anything else on the menu (sandwiches and Salmon burger I'm looking at you) as only useful if you have some obligate carnivore with you who can't imagine a complete meal without meat in it. This said from an omnivore. My favorite items: Original bowl or Jazzy sub brown rice (hot and spicy but with brown rice instead of Jasmine). I also tend to get a chocolate dipped cookie (choc chip or ginger, both good) but the cookies really only get by on the chocolate dip. Biggest wish for Yumm: Find a way to assemble the Yumm Bowls so they are hotter. They are usually lukewarm at best. And the reviewers are right, the chips are lame. Tip: A medium bowl is *so* close to the size of the large that it is hard to tell the difference. The small is tiny though. The tofu or tempeh skewers are both small for the price. Ask for tofu cubes ON your bowl, you get a ton and it's usually $2.50 and can be southwest seasoned or plain. read more

I get the Hot n' Jazzy bowl, with some brown rice and extra jalapeno-sesame salsa; I like-a my stuff-a spicy, and this gives it enough of a kick to make me smile. Yumm! When you get your bowl, take a second to admire the composition of the toppings, how the cilantro's leafy green contrasts with the red of your tomatoes, how the olives glisten against the creamy goodness of the avocado. Then take your fork and mix it up till it looks like someone already chewed it for you. The homogeneous goodness of all those snazzy ingredients will keep you happy until you're scraping the bowl having had your last bite. Yumm! Their Yumm sauce is unique and not suited for all palates, but it's the sort of thing I could use like ranch dressing and put on anything. I think it's a tahini style sauce. Yumm. Cafe Yumm. I'll divulge a secret here: I have a hardcore crush on any business that has a menu extensive enough and with enough options for vegans, that i literally stand there, switching from one foot to another, with a perplexed look on my face, for ten minutes straight. That's just... HOT. Well, more tangy than anything. Yumm... Cafe Yumm. Since it is one of their staple dishes, I tried one of the Yumm! bowls. They all have a simple base: Tillamook® cheddar, diced tomato, fresh avocado slices, sour cream, black olives, and cilantro (exnay on the cheese and sour cream for me, thank you). Then you can customize your bowl with one of their specialties, be it salsa, brown rice, chili, edamame, zucchini, or one of their soups. The ingredients are FRESH. They look pretty piled high in one of their brightly colored bowls. And they go down smooth. Rotating soups range from four to five, with a couple vegan options. I use to eat here when I lived in Eugene about 10 years ago. I can't even begin to tell you how good their Yumm Bowls are. The first thing people usually say after taking their first bite is, "This is yummy". Their special sauce called Yumm Sauce (egg free, dairy free, wheat free, gluten free, sugar-free) is so tangy and adds a delightful light flavor to just about anything you could think of. I recommend the Chilean Zucchini Bowl. But, anything you order will be an explosion of goodness in your mouth. Check their website for locations. They have expanded to Bend even! "Cafe Yumm" or "Cafe Umm...."? My girlfriend and I, both vegan, were super excited to try this place and decided to stop in today and give it a go. We walked in and asked the girl at the register what the vegan options were, and she replied "everything can be made vegan, just choose whatever you want and we'll make it without cheese or sour cream". We asked a few more questions about sauces and such being vegan and decided to go for the "Hot and Jazzy" bowl, as we enjoy spicy foods. We made sure to ask for it vegan, even though we had just had a 5 minute conversation about their vegan options with this individual. Also ordered a vegan gingerbread cookie. We sat down to wait and 3-4 minutes later, our "large" Yumm bowl arrived. Looked pretty nice, just like the photos they have on the menu, but upon inspecting it we noticed it had both cheese AND sour cream. We thought for a second that maybe it's vegan alternatives, so I asked and was promptly apologized to and told that they would make it again. So again we sit, 3-4 mins go by, and Jazzy bowl #2 comes out. No dairy products to be seen so we take a few bites, but after moving the tempeh from the top of the bowl we notice the tiniest little dollop of sour cream... Seriously? I return to the counter once more and let them know that it still has dairy products on it, so the girl we originally spoke to says "I'll go back there and make it myself", and she does. 3-4 mins and we finally have a Yumm bowl that we can consume. Unfortunately, after all that time, it was pretty underwhelming and we were not impressed. We really wanted to love it, being how quick and easy it is for a vegan meal, but it was just a few lukewarm ingredients that just happen to be sharing a common location. The dish was not at all cohesive; several different flavors just placed next to each other. No seasoning or noticeable cooking technique on the tempeh, and there was more "Yumm Sauce" than anything else, which turned the flavor of the whole dish to lemon and nutritional yeast. The only redeeming factor of this meal was the cookie. It's not often you come across vegan cookies at a "fast food" joint. So we were happy to scarf that down after the disappointing meal and service. We will probably return at some point to Cafe Yumm, but it won't be this location and it won't be anytime soon. The flavors are awesome and the staff is super friendly - service is usually fast but beware the line can get long at lunch time if you arrive after noon. My favorite is hot and jazzy, wrappit, sub brown rice add tofu. The southwest tofu wrap is also yummy (pun intended) and not quite as filling (no rice). I would give 5 stars because when our order is correct the food is AMAZING! However, our order is always wrong. 3 times I have been given chicken when I ordered tofu and tonight, I got neither. Even paid for double tofu. I'm not sure if it's a staff difference but the bowls don't even taste the same. Each time we order it's a surprise what's in the box. It's never the same twice in a row. The cashier forgot to give us our pick up order after buying our additional cookies and drinks, so we had to ask for our food after we told her we had ordered online as well. When we got home, we found out items were missing so we called and asked if we could get the missing items. The person said we could come pick up the items, but they were closed. Their bowl sizes are set out on a counter quite far from where you order, and I'd say it's not very cool. Who knows how deep those bowls are? I'm here to tell you they're not deep at all. I have a feeling they use the "portion control" card in order to call it healthy. My bowl was very small, and I got a medium. I couldn't tell the difference between my boyfriend's small and my medium. They throw a bunch of ingredients on top of the rice mixture, and then I'm expected to mix it up in the bowl - with no room to do so. I also wasn't happy that I paid $4.25 for a plain cheese quesadilla that was 1 small tortilla cut into 4 tiny pieces. That's $1 a piece for cheap ass shit.
