Tried this place a few times for takeout and pretty disappointed after the second time. First time we can here, we ordered three sandwiches. Each one was tasty and great! People and service was nice. However, the second time we ordered 5 sandwiches, which were all mislabeled. The bread was over toasted, slightly burnt, they were dry, lacking of sauce or spread. Also, ordered a vegetarian the proveletta, but had meat on it. The salad was good but their desserts are not. Probably not gonna be back. read more

They're a family owned business and take real good care of their customers by providing delicious meals and superb customer service. Highly recommend their sea bass dish to satisfy fresh fish craving. The plantains side dish reminds me of the tropical experience of Costa Rica. As a cuban american, who grew up eating cuban food, this place is good. The beans don't exactly taste cuban and neither does the plantains or food overall. It is delicious food but it does not really give "cuba". Although, I do recommend eating here if you'd like a nice warm meal relative to cuban food. Enjoy your meal! read more

Amazing chai latte super sweet kind staff so friendly helped me get in and out w my kids. Very clean all I had was a latte they have every type of milk alternative which is awesome. What a disappointment! As a Cuban I visited this restaurant and ordered Vaca Frita. It was extremely dry and much tougher to chew more than what it should be . The rice was old. What a delicious surprise to stumble into this darling cafe. Had the Mojo Shrimp which was super flavorful and so, so good. The portion was plentiful too. Omg! This place is delecious! While In the area today I stopped in about 11. Greeted by a nice young lady. Ordered the shrimp platter. The flavors were delightful, perfectly spiced. Even the watermelon/mint tee was really good. Cute little spot, even with a couple tables outside. I ate almost the whole plate. Shrimp was a nice size, and everything tasted really fresh. This was my first time ever having Cuban food. I cannot wait to go again and try other items. Pricing was super reasonable too. I visited Cafecito again on Sunday around 6 pm with my family and had a different experience than the last. Food 3/5 Ordered Ropa Vieja plate (no beans, asked for pasta salad instead based on the cashier's recommendation), chimichurri sandwich, and chicken saltado. The dishes came without fried plantain and the gentleman shared that they're plantains but just made differently. They were patties and tasted more savory than sweet and dessert like. It was disappointing because I wasn't told that when I ordered and was really looking forward to the plantain. Ropa vieja came with no pasta salad (which I just realized after looking at the photo). Taste wise, it was yummy. Chimichurri came with a very sad looking bread that was very flat. Tasted yummy but again didn't look very pleasing. I only tried the fries from the chicken saltado and those were flavorful! Drink 3/5 Ordered iced cafe con leche and a mandarin jarritos. Cafe con leche tasted different than the last time I had it. It tasted like it was made with black coffee and not espresso. Mandarin jarritos was okay. Service 2/5 Service started out great! The cashier was patient and provided me with great recs but then things went downhill. We asked him to clean the table/bench outside and he only cleaned a small section. Then the food came with no plantain which I wasn't told at the time of ordering that they're out. The coffee didn't come until I asked him when he brought out the food. Then he brought it out and it was a hot drink not iced. He said they'll remake it but they're out of the lid for iced cups so I said that he can pour it into a hot drink cup but it just didn't feel or taste the same! The jarritos didn't come and I didn't realize until we were almost finished with our food so I had to go back inside and ask for it because they had completely forgotten. Now, I'm realizing that there was no pasta salad either on the side like I had requested! Overall 2.5/5 This was a disappointing visit especially because I had raved about this place to my family and it just didn't live up to my expectation! read more

I tried the Guava-Q Chicken Platillo and only got to see the Steak Chimichurri because my fiancé ate it so fast I couldn't even ask for a bite! It was so good. I literally couldn't wait to leave a review on this place, which is why I'm sitting in the parking lot right outside, because it deserves the perfect rating it currently has. The service was very nice and really fast. The ambience was cute and welcoming. Free water cups... always a plus. It's solid. While it might not be in the thick of the city, this place is worth the trip. Parking is tight in the lot, so look to the free street parking if you can. Easily the best restaurant in Calabasas! It's so nice having authentic Cuban food without having to drive far from home. Their food is delicious and prices are so reasonable. I just had lunch there yesterday, and am already craving it again!! Although the food tastes incredible, the real star of the restaurant is Phillip. You will never meet a kinder, more lovely person. I recently had surgery and I'm using a walker. He saw me coming up to the restaurant and not only did he move the chairs but he picked up a table just to clear a path for me. When we were enjoying our meal, he introduced himself to us, and as we were leaving, remembered our names, and warmly said goodbye.
