Cafecito is a great addition to the Calabasas food scene. So nice having the variety of good Cuban food. The owner is from my native Chicago where they have several restaurants. Don't know the story of how the one brother was able to move to Calabasas to open a family restaurant, but a good move the owner is a good guy. The food quality is good. The Cubano sandwich is a crowd pleaser and I've had a pork plate and a tilapia plate as well. Cooked to order and hot is a good thing. Take out works as well as dining in place. read more

I'm Cuban so of course we wanted to try this coffee place out. What a wonderful surprise. This place is a gem. We met Phillip, the owner. He was warm and welcoming. Nicest guy!!! The café con leche was on point and the food was just like my grandma used to make. Cafecito is quaint decorated Havana style with Cuban music playing in the background. I told the owner that I will be bringing my dad and the rest of my family here. My mom and dad will think they were back in Cuba. Thank you Phillip for opening Cafecito in California. If you've never had good Cuban food or never leave Calabasas I could see the attraction to this place. Unfortunately it misses the mark every time we've eaten here, The meat is way over cooked, dry and salty. The beans are runny and meh. The plantains were not tender or sweet. I was so hoping it would good. Bummer. read more

Small shop with great food. Went there on a Sunday for lunch and got the Vaca Frita and Guava Pork platillos. Service was very nice. Food came out quickly. Easy parking too. As a Puerto Rican, this is the closest I have found to having good home food! Maybe we can get some flan and tres leches in the future? Look forward to coming back. read more

I'd give this place ten stars if I could! The food is flavorful, delicious, well executed and you get a great portion. I came here with my best friend while visiting her and my belly was SO happy after leaving here. As a business owner myself, I am a tough critic and they well exceeded my bar. Not only was the food great, but the customer service was also A1. Our waitress was extremely pleasant, professional, knowledgeable and spot on with her recommendations. We even left with some of their sauces (which are also delicious). Finding out that this is family owned and ran was the icing on the cake and made me even happier with our decision to eat here. They were all such warm, friendly and just overall GOOD and kind people. The only thing I was sad about is that I don't live nearby so I could have their delicious food regularly lol. This place is amazing and anyone that writes a poor review either had an issue that has nothing to do with the service or the food or they're just haters. I have eaten here five times and had a different dish each time and they were all amazing and the service is second to none. If you come when they're busy you might have to wait a bit but it's worth it. Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy the NO corkage fee while it lasts. If you want to pay top dollar go across the street so there will be more room for me! read more

I received a menu from Cafecito and, as I dearly miss Cuban food, I immediately gave it a try. The restaurant did not look like much from the outside, but the first taste of my Cuban sandwich and I was hooked! This is the real deal. I've spent many happy hours on SW 8th St in Miami dining on authentic Cuban food and it is truly difficult to find on the west coast. Cafecito comes here by way of Chicago and not Miami, but has its' fingers in the guava and spices of Cuba. I've been back four times since my first visit two weeks ago and each time it was authentic Cuban fare. The owner has promised some Arroz con polo for a special down the road, the lechon is fab and I'm going to continue to sample the menu - item by item. Beats the commute to SW 8th! read more

AMAZING CAFE. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I came here for the first time and got an iced cafe con leche and a chipotle chicken sandwich. The coffee was phenomenal and very reasonably priced, especially considering this is in Calabasas. The panini was also amazing and full of flavor. However, what stood out to me most was the customer service. This is a family owned restaurant and the owners are the nicest people I've ever met. They checked up on me several times and welcomed me like they've known me for years. This place is a gem. 10/10 recommend. Seriously make sure you stop. Cafecito is such a cute establishment. Found this gem while running some errands. The first time I went was around 11am during the week and it was virtually empty. The second time was around 9am on a Sunday, and it quickly became pretty packed. The staff is super friendly and the vegan options are delicious. My favorite items thus far are the vegan sausage sandwich and the maduro (sweet plantain) pancakes which are new to the menu. I look forward to visiting again soon. read more

Most delicious pork dish I have truly ever had. We ordered the guava pork and a chimichurri chicken sandwich. I also got a Cafecito iced drink which was super good. I'll be dreaming of the pork dish as it was probably the best pork I've ever had. Juicy but crispy at the same time. Can't wait to go back and try more of the guava dishes! read more
