It was my fiancée's birthday which I wrote and choose as an option when booking the reservation and they didn't mention it at all, which was disappointing. Our server, Tom, was the highlight of our dinner! He was so friendly and made funny jokes the whole time, he really made a positive impression on our experience! We started with their winter caprese salad. The tomatoes and burrata were extremely salty. Their bread basket and pizza bread were good as always. For entrees, we had the grouper catch of the day and the salmon. My salmon was farm raised and had no flavor. The leeks on top were the one thing that made the salmon have some sort of taste. My fiancée had the special grouper. He said the sauce was good, but again the fish didn't have much of a taste. Unfortunately it seemed like an off night for their food there and with their steep pricing you would expect better. We were started off with delicious bread that had a wonderful tomato paste. Then we got the Zucchini Frittata as an appetizer, which in our opinion, could have used some sauce. It was still tasty though. For entrée, I ordered the Bolognese, which was wonderful! I didn't leave a single piece of pasta on my plate. We're always surprised how busy this place is, so make sure you make a reservation! We've been here twice and both times the restaurant was extremely busy but the services was still good. They have a really good seafood/pasta menu and I always end up ordering a pasta. My rigatoni was delicious and my husband ordered the veal chop special. I think their cocktails are also delicious! Overall, a great place with good food and drinks--my four stars is a reflection of the price. When I spoke with the manager, his attitude was "Oh well, we aren't ready" (Basically if you don't want to wait then leave). Prices are one thing and I'm happy to pay a good price for good food and service but we experienced neither. We arrived at 6:04 for 6:15 reservations. The hostess told us to head to the bar for drinks until 6:15. There were no seats do we waited. When we got sat at our table our server took forever to greet us, bring drinks etc. we finally ordered oysters for a start which didn't come until 7. Oysters were not shucked properly as every one had shells. For entrees, I got the lamb chops which were okay but not great in addition, I ordered medium rare but received medium well. My partner ordered the seafood risotto and said it was okay as well but nothing special. For dessert my partner got the cheesecake which was the best thing all night however, I was super disappointed that there was no happy anniversary decor on the plate or any mention of it since I put in our reservation that this was our anniversary. We booked dinner in the wine cellar after our wedding ceremony (party of 22 people.) We had an amazing time! The event coordinator was easy to work with (we got flowers delivered for the table and they set them up,) the staff was so nice and polite, and the food was amazing. Our wedding photographer mentioned the Bordeaux wine was one of the best wines she's ever tasted! All the food was so delicious, definitely better than any caterer could do! The crowd favorites were the capellini positano, the clams casino, and their homemade cheesecake. The only thing that didn't go according to plan was that we couldn't get our bluetooth connected to their system to play our own music. About 3/4ths of the way through dinner, they were finally able to pipe their own music down to the wine cellar. It wasn't the end of the world, and tech hiccups happen. My now husband grew up going to Lamberti's for special occasions, and now we have the best memory of all here at the restaurant! Anyone who is familiar with the South Jersey area has undoubtedly heard of Caffe Aldo Lamberti. Caffe Aldo Lamberti has a wonderful reputation that is well supported by their food and service. My fiancé and I came here last Saturday to celebrate. I made a reservation on Open Table about a week in advance and was a little disappointed to see the only time slot was 4:45pm. I was worried it was too early, but luckily it is was dark by that time (thank you, winter) and the restaurant was already packed! We opted to use the complimentary valet services, which was quick and efficient despite the amount of guests. When we got inside, we were seated right away. Aldo has QR codes for menus now, but our server did offer paper menus if we wanted. We enjoyed the complimentary bread basket and also ordered calamari as an appetizer. To drink, we ordered a bottle of pinot to split. For dinner, we both had steak - I had the filet mignon and my fiancé had the new york stip. Both steaks were served perfectly! My filet mignon was wrapped in bacon and topped with gorgonzola cheese and lump crab meat, served over baby spinach and potatoes. I am still thinking about it and wish I had saved some for leftovers! The new strip was served with mushrooms and steak cut fries. For dessert, we shared ice cream and cheesecake (as pictured). On our reservation we indicated we were celebrating our anniversary so the cheesecake came out with a fun sparkler and chocolate message. Despite the signage that limited the time at the table, we did not feel rushed at all. The prices are a bit more expensive than average, but it is worth it for a special night out. As a group we tried many different pasta dishes and my favorites remain the two classics (Capellini Positano and bolognese) Both simple but done very well. As for appetizers the mixed crudo platter rivals what you would get in Italy. Definitely my favorite item on the menu and I would return just for this. Well was hoping for a good night out with family, but unfortunately it did not happen. First the positives - service was basically good, except for not offering a refill on beverages (ice tea) and no follow up on how the meals were. Also my wife liked the salmon platter and the antipasto appetizer was not bad. From there, the meal went down hill - the other appetizer, mozzarella & tomatoes, was meh. The bolognese was so-so based on how a party member just picked at it and the catch of the day, could have been called the "catch of a few days ago", but the veal Marsala had to be the worst i have ever had. It was flavorless and the 1/8 inch thick pounded veal was as tough as leather. It seemed as though it may have been prepared a few days before being served. Basically my golden rule for restaurants was broken - I do not mind paying good money for a good meal, but I hate paying good money for a bad meal. This place was really buzzing on a Wednesday evening. Luckily, the couple we were meeting made advanced reservations so we got a nice table near the window. We ordered some cocktails and appetizers. The cocktails were tasty and the appetizers delicious! I ordered the crab cake which was made with lump crab meat and very little fillers. My husband had cold shelled lump crab with a side of greens. We also had a dozen fresh oysters for the table. Our entrees included whole fish Branzini that was filleted at the table, pan-seared red snapper fillet with grape tomatoes, olives, artichokes, basil, white wine, and Fantasia Di Mare, shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, calamari, paccheri pasta, with fresh tomatoes garlic and white wine For dessert we shared peach sorbet and chocolate and vanilla ice cream wedges topped with hazelnuts, cherries and cream. All of the food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Now, our server was another story. He was loud and showed no interest in presenting the menu items. I enjoy some type of personal contact not a robot loudly stating a memorized menu. As a result, I found myself pushed into ordering things I really wasn't certain of. Luckily, my friend, a salesman by trade, knew how to slow him down and helped me amend my selections. The server was fairly attentive but had zero interpersonal skills and he totally killed it when he presented the bill with our desserts. When questioned about this, he loudly informed us that his manager was pressuring him for the table. We looked around and saw several guests who had been seated at their tables prior to our arrival. Secondly, we were still spending money because my husband was attempting to order another round of drinks to salute the holiday. How dare this foolish waiter be so rude to us! We uncomfortably toasted the holiday with our last round of drinks, paid the bill and exited the restaurant. The evening would have been fantastic with a better server. First and foremost one of the best trained staff we encountered in a very long time. Mitch, our server was knowledgeable well dressed and thankfully did not wear a tie. Armando his assistant was attentive and was always conscious where we were in the meal. The food was cooked to perfection . We ordered off the menu with variation and the chef prepared the meal to perfection. The outdoor setting was exquisite and my partner of 29 years (as of the writing of this review) looked exceptionally beautiful. The desert were delicious and we even took home the Tiramisu that we snaked on the next day. The espresso was not as good as we expected and was not served with a lemon peel. My wife and I just finished dinner at Cafe Aldo Lamberti. This was one of the worst experiences we had dining in a very long time. Our initial review of this restaurant was fantastic so we decided to return. First, the hostess attempted to sit us in a corner when other tables were available. After we received a decent table, we ordered drinks and placed our tables order (apps and entrees). We waited a while but didn't notice the time because we were talking. Our entrees came out and we hadn't received our apps. Instead of just stating it was an error, they stated it was a duplicate order for another table. Just admit you forgot the apps. We had to ask for bread and our apps finally arrived. The food was good. As the support person as clearing away our table. She tipped over my wife's drink onto her white jeans. The young lady did not apologize and walked away. The server came back probably 10 minutes later. He noticed what happened and offered us a free desert. No apologies or anything. The place gave off awesome and romantic vibes so def a perfect date night. The server was awesome and answered all our questions!!! We started off with the Imported Burrata & Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Beet, Green Bean & Goat Cheese Salad.. the burrata was creamy and delicious and the prosciutto was just the right amount of salty, it was my favorite. I did not eat the beet salad but it was a favorite of my boyfriend. I got the 16 Oz. New York Strip sauteed mushrooms, leeks, steak-cut fries. I did ask for no leeks but it was ok!
