If they want to do their own thing that's fine but then change the name of the restaurant. Prices have gone up and portion sizes significantly less than prior ownership. Party of 5 had butter chicken, chicken korma, chicken negrisi, bread basket and a vegetarian dish. Bill was in the $130 range before tip. I feel like their is better Indian in the vicinity. We used to order from this place because they delivered and the food was really good. After waiting for 2 hours for my previous order, I was furious when they told me 40 minutes and then calling them again after an hour and fifteen minutes, they said they were around the block... Another 45 minutes and the food was cold. Fast forward a year and a half, since that delivery that took forever. The tandoori appetizers were not very good, the piece of shrimp tasted like it was days old and fishy. The tandoori chicken was ok but the lamb was mushy and disgusting like the shrimp. The biryani was soo bland and tasteless, I honestly think they used brown rice... I called and complained to management before I wrote this, I dont know if they got a new chef or the good one left. Ordered the Tandoori Dinner and Lamb Madras for takeout. The food was neatly separated and labeled and came with a great variety of food and toppings. The side soup was tasty. HelEveryone, Last night I ordered food from this restaurant for delivery along with my roommate's order. Most pathetic restaurant I have ever seen. As they do not know Indian cuisine at all. They served all tandoori chicken items with naan and steamed rice. Whoever is mastered in Indian cuisine can never serve dry items with rice. There was no gravy in their 'Tandoori Dinner'. First I was laughing and then regretting for ordering food which was super expensive. When I called the restaurant they told me thats how it is and he was very rude to me. Rated only on lunch buffet for $9.95. I have gone here over 10 times since early 2017. The Naan is brought to the table by the one staff member a bit slow and you might have to ask him for water refills and to remove the dirty plates. The buffet choices are limited to about 10 items and two desserts. But at least three of the choices are to kill for, which leaves this taste of satisfaction when you leave the place and all you think about is, when are you going back. On my last visit Sunday 4/15/18 at around 1:30pm with a friend, the service was so bad that I decided to change the overall rating of this restaurant from 4 stars to 3. At the time there was only one other table with 5 customers. The buffet table ran out of a few items, I had to ask and re ask them to refill with food, had to ask for water and refills, had to ask for naan again and again, the dirty plates sat on the table. All of this happened while there was only one other table in the restaurant. Really awful service or lack of service from the female server. Indian food is my favorite cuisine and this place does not disappoint. I tend to order the same thing every time I order but it is consistently good. I have not indulged in their buffet as of yet but their take-out is easy and convenient as they allow you to order through Yelp. The flavors are great, and the people that work here have always been courteous. The place never seems to be packed when I am there. You can tell they put a lot of effort into keeping the place clean, looking nice, and well run. Sometimes the food does take a while to get to you. Wait time is usually around 30-45 minutes depending on what and how much you order. The restaurant gives you a time estimate on when your food will be ready, however, I usually have to wait 5-10 mins after that time for my food to be ready for me to take home. This is a minor issue, as the food is cooked fresh and I'd much rather wait for fresh food than have quick microwaved food. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

The absolute best Indian food I've had yet in the USA (comparable with the best of Brick Lane in London). Excellent menu, generous portions and TREMENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. As one example of this quality attention to their customers, one evening a couple of weeks back, they were short on help and unable to deliver. We were disappointed as this meant I would need to find another restaurant to deliver instead. However, as soon as they realized that it was I who called, Kamal (not sure of the spelling of this lady's name) called both my mobile phone and my house phone to apologize and explain why they could not deliver. She then recommended I use DoorDash that evening instead, assuring me she would personally make sure my order was perfect. Pretty good spot for some Indian food. I've been here a couple times and like that it is casual and there is never a wait. There seems to be a decent amount of seating therefore making it a good spot if you're with a big group. I came for the lunch buffet on a Sunday afternoon. They had a variety of options including chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, chaat, bhindi bhaji, etc. It certainly wasn't the biggest buffet I've been to but they had a decent amount of options to choose from. The food is consistently pretty good. I really like the chicken tikka masala. I also tried the chicken vindaloo which I honestly didn't care for. The consistency was too watery and thin. Not a fan! The naan came out hot and tasted fresh. We had the option of plain or garlic naan (although I believe they normally have more options). The price for the lunch buffet was around $10. Caffe Delhi is my favorite Indian restaurant! The first time I ordered take out from them, I thought that I must have gotten the wrong order because there was so much food in the bag. But they are just super generous! Along with my meal, I received an entire container of rice, 3 sauces for my samosas, and rice pudding! I was very impressed and of course everything was delicious. I have since been ordering there about once a week and the staff is always so friendly. Prior to the pandemic, I would always go to their buffet and all of the food was always so tasty. Appetizers, entrees, and desserts--it's the perfect way to have a taste of everything, and for a great price! Also, there are plenty of vegetarian options. I will definitely have to dine in with them soon now that they have indoor dining again. We came to this restaurant based on prior reviews on Yelp. Upon first arrival, we saw that the restaurant was almost full! We thought it was because everyone was enjoying their meals and experience. The reasons this restaurant fell short of expectations were due to: Lack of team staff Lack of seating arrangements Sub-par food quality If you have all the time in the world and no where else to be for about 2-2.5 hours, then this is your place to kill time. When we saw other people sitting (who came to the restaurant before us), we thought they must have already ate and are just sitting and enjoying their time there. I wish that was the case. They were waiting for their orders as well. Due to the fact that this place has very less people on staff, it took them over an hour, almost an hour and 15 minutes for our food to be served. When we finally got our food, unlike the saying "Patience is a virtue," in our case, it WASN'T WORTH THE WAIT. The goat curry is pretty much tasteless. Their biryani is decent so that was pretty much the only silver lining. That's the only reason I'm giving this a 2-star rating. Their Onion Paneer Kulcha is the best bread I have eaten hands down. Their Malai Kofta is rich and creamy. I love the balance of spices in their Aloo Gobhi Palak. My hubs was worried that Denville was too far away for them to deliver (we are in cedar knolls) but the food was awesome and came quicker than promised! Got salt? If not, head to Caffe Delhi, where the sheer saltiness of every dish will overpower the delicate interaction of Indian spices. Yelpers, I don't know what's gotten into you, but this is the lowest rating I've ever had to give my favorite cuisine. I did only go to the buffet, but every single dish was consistently oversalted. My favorite saag, the paneer, even the chicken curry. I give props for the [forget the Indian name] fried bread, which was a whole lot better than the complimentary naan. The naan was hard and tasteless, as if cooked early that morning or even the day before. About the same for the tandoori chicken and the basmati rice. What's worse, dishes like the rice were nearing empty before they were refilled. I grabbed the last fried bread and was digging through rice scraps before they came back out. I'll also give props to the giant, hot gulab jamun. The custard dessert was okay, but lacked flavor beyond just being a custard, and was orange. If custard is orange, I expect it to have some flavor (mango?) that justifies the color, but nope. Although I haven't been to an Indian buffet that I'd call expensive, there are ones that cost a dollar or two more nearby with a lot less salt and fresher food. After this and Tabor Pizza, maybe it's just that Mount Tabor craves salt more than most. I don't, and will not be back. read more

Just walked in and sat down. First thing, I did the check in for 7.95 lunch buffet, and she wouldn't honor it. Said it was from 2 years ago. Automatic 1 star removal. Also, the prices have increased. Used to be 8.95 in the weekend now, 9.95. First taste was the papdi chaat, they were stale as all get out. There was a fly buzzing around the salad and the condiments as well as the pakora so I avoided all 3. Chicken tikka is just as good as I remember, curry as well. Both mildly spiced, rice I think had been sitting it was kind of clumpy, scratch that, even the fresh rice was clumpy. naan was good, but tasted as if they forgot the garlic. Water was constantly refilled, but I was never asked if I wanted a soda or chai or coffee. The hostess/waitress kept piling an overly full dish cart with more dishes and at one point a bunch of them clattered to the floor startling everyone as the restaurant was pretty quiet save for light music. Overall, it's decent, but I think for $5 more I would've been better off going to Indian Aroma a few miles up 46. Place was good when it first opened 2 years ago but has really gone downhill.
