Coffee just ok and pricey when you realize they've sized down all the drinks compared to most coffee shops (only available in 8oz, 12oz, 16 oz). Pastries were very good but not labeled, so you had to guess what they were based on appearance. I thought I was getting a chocolate muffin, but it turned out to be a chocolate raspberry brownie - a much denser breakfast than expected. Nice, speedy barista. read more

This is my favorite coffee joint . It's just a 2 min walk from office .Amazing coffee, an always smiling barista , comfy seating , nice decor - everything you would want for a perfect coffee break. I love the chai latte here , it's really yummy and not watery like other places. Have also tried latte, cappuccino , iced tea,hot chocolate and all of them have been really really good. Medici , one of their signature drinks is good too . Must Try place , if you are in the neighborhood Also don't forget to try their almond cranberry cake , it's yumilicious . read more

We decided to come here because it had amazing reviews on yelp. But after visiting, the coffee was not grate. It tasted more like milk than coffee. On top of that the service was bad. The barista was very rude, giving attitude to me and other customers. Would I come again? No. If you're visiting Seattle don't come here there are better coffee shops out here. read more

My boyfriend and I loved our stop here! The barista was so friendly and kind to us, and was willing to explain to us the various drinks on the menu. There is limited seating, but there are nice large windows so that you can easily people watch :) Although the menu is somewhat short, their coffee and service was excellent! We had a Medici, which is a double shot of espresso poured over chocolate syrup and an orange peel. It was delicious!! I also ordered a Shakerato, which is an iced coffee made by shaking espresso and iced cubes. The Shakerato was served with a side of sparkling water. I loved this drink, as well! I would highly recommend this stop, especially if you are near the convention center! read more

I remember only unforced smiles, ready laughs, and appreciated promptness during my *cough* escapes over here. And the interior is a bit funky in a good way. Was great to have this place across from our hotel. We stopped in every morning. Coffee, latte (with the cute little design made in the milk), tea were all excellent. The baked goods were heavenly. Outdoor seating, lots of light and great coffee make this Ladro location a winner. My only complaint is that, pinched between the convention center I-5 and a parking lot, this Ladro is about the only nice thing in the neighborhood. I don't usually go to Caffe Ladro even though there are two near me, one in Lynnwood and one in Edmonds (Five Corners). It is a relatively expensive place for coffee and pastries. However, this was conveniently located next to a project I was working on right next door for two straight days. For this project I get out of my office attire and wear hard hat, safety vest, and steel toed boots; not exactly dressed like the urban hipster crowd that plies the streets around here (everyone has a dog ... I mean everyone). I ordered my usual grande nonfat latte, tipped generously, guaranteeing I could use the bathroom later without buying coffee. I did anyway, buy coffee. I'm not a fan of the Ladro roast, too mild and sour. I like a bolder roast. The coffee and pastries are pricey. The scone I had with my coffee was actually quite good and I imagine the other pastries are as well. The service was friendly, can't complain, typical young piercing/tattoo types. I don't get that but I really don't need to and don't really care. read more

Came to use the wifi, bought coffee and wifi didn't work on 3 different devices. First they said it's fine everyone else is using it, nobody was and it obviously wasn't working. Then they said it was "the storm", there was no storm. They just couldn't be bothered to reset the router. Very poor customer service :( read more

The food is pretty good, mostly scones and muffins. According to my mom, the coffee is great but I haven't drunk enough to know. They have a really nice outdoor seating patio and plenty of tables inside. Baristas are polite and friendly and it seems like mostly regulars come here. Theres a fairly small selection of drinks but they do simply latte art and have nice mugs. read more

PAX attendee here (yeah, yeah, I know). I've been coming to this place ever since we started going to Prime, and I look forward to it every time. I get cravings for these lattes when I go home, and I even tried ordering a bunch of coffee to make up for it when I was back on the east cost. Didn't work as well as I hoped - though still very delicious coffee - but that's what having a great espresso machine and knowing how to use it will do for you. Pastries are good as well - I've had pumpkin bread, blueberry scones, and chocolate muffins, which I'd all happily order again. The lattes are just the perfect amount of sweetness, and even the flavored ones don't mask the excellent taste of the espresso. I haven't been in an adventurous enough mood to try anything beyond the lattes, cappucinos, or chai tea (all excellent), but maybe fourth year is a charm. Either way, the drinks are consistently what I remember them to be, and the service has always been excellent - especially during the crazy rush PAX brings to this place. I've been roasting my own coffee and doing a bit of experimenting with brewing methods, and I may just ask for the barista's favorite next time I'm around. Travelers, do yourself a favor and stop by if you're in the area instead of a Starbucks you could get anywhere. You won't be sorry. (And yes, be ready to order! It's a coffee shop and they're busy. Be courteous and hang back out of the line if you need a few, because they do ask for your order a few places before the cash register so they can get your drink started and have it ready when you pay.) read more

They also have the coolest Viora disposable cup lids, that are way easier to drink from. Unfortunately, they're no longer offering the cardamom coffee cake. Sad. Went out of my way on a Saturday morning, because I know they're open, to get a quick cup of drip coffee and walked in to see only one person working & a line of six people. I hate places that are understaffed and probably won't go back. I shouldn't have to wait 15 minutes or more for a cup of drip coffee nor did I have time to, & I really wanted a cup of coffee. I probably would have bought a pastry too. I'm sorry, but no barista is *that* good. read more

It's really too bad that a bad employee can drag the ratings down because I really like Cafe Ladro and I really like that it's downtown. I must have been lucky to have been there when the bad employee wasn't working or was in a better mood because I've had some great service. I love their coffee and their espresso chip pound cake. It's in a convenient location but the shop itself is cramped, especially around the counter area. Stopped in here while staying across the street. Stop one, the barista was friendly but we were looking for breakfast. Stop two was a boy and girl barista team. Rude in the extreme. One of the rare unpleasant service experiences in Seattle, which is a great tourist town in 99% of cases. Among other gems: "do you have wifi?" "(Snippy) Yes." We sit down with our drinks and realize we need a password, which grunge boy was too busy frothing to give to us. Sum: if there's a guy working alone on the weekends, give it a try. If it is a boy and girl who were born after Kurt Cobain died but nonetheless think they are grunge, run away. read more

I've been to two of these over the years when visiting Seattle. Decent coffee, decently prepared. WiFi. The one on Capitol Hill seems a touch better in coffee - must be the baristas. The one on Pine is still Better Than Starbucks, but doesn't have as relaxing an atmosphere and seating - plus hard surfaces reflect sounds annoyingly. Watched today as a customer waited 20 sec or so while they finished loudly talking about Kim and Kanye. This particular Caffe Ladro location was my JAM for a while. I would pop in before and sometimes after work, pick up the most delicious soy latte I've ever tasted, and go about my business. I spent hours studying here between work and school sometimes--free wifi and a really great, open, windowed space to study in made this a pleasant place to get some homework done before work. I love the red walls, the ever changing artwork on the walls, and the fact that they have a couple of copies of the Stranger on hand at all times. Baristas have been amazing at times, not so much at others, but I have never had a bad experience. The one time my coffee didn't turn out the way I was expecting, they remade it happily and it was perfect the second time. In a sea of Starbucks and Tullys downtown, it's nice to have a cafe to hang out in that feels like your own neighborhood cafe. Also, as a bonus, this place doesn't tend to be packed with people who stay to drink their coffee, so there is almost always a place to sit. I have really enjoyed the music they play there--baristas have free reign to plug in their ipods. read more
