I normally don't leave reviews, but I had a disappointing experience today. When the employee asked if everything was tasting good, I let him know my coffee was way too sweet and asked if I could get an extra shot to make it stronger. Instead of helping, he told me I'd have to pay for the extra shot. If you're going to ask customers how their drink is, it would be nice to actually fix the issue--especially when it's something small like adjusting the flavor. I left feeling frustrated, and unfortunately this experience really changed how I feel about this location. read more

I came here when I came to visit my brother and had the horchata latte and the mercato chicken panini. I still dream about the horchata latte! It was the best one I've tried. Wow. I have gone two days in a row now. The strawberry lemonade was the best I ever had, I also got the Italian Club Panini and the chicken panini and they were both very very very good. I highly recommend you ask for the green hot sauce if you want it to have a little kick. I can tell it's authentic by their accents and wonderful service and it was very calm and relaxing inside. Very loud Saturday morning 10:45am. Line to order wound all around people eating. Tomato soup -meh; not hot enough and not much flavor, definitely skip it. Chicken club was good! Very nice decor, and the pastries look wonderful. Lemon almond rosemary cake was tangy and flavorful, not too sweet. I called to placed and spoke to the manager and did not care at all to replace it. Instead he wanted to give me 10 percent off. This was my first trip here and the drink I ordered was way too sweet I don't know why I ordered a pumpkin drink but I love chai so I go a pumpkin chai latte iced and it was undrinkable for me. If you like chai really sweet you'll love it. The cranberry orange scone was a bit too dry and I couldn't really taste the orange. I will definitely try this place again because of the people, service and ambiance but I will definitely pick a different drink and food. read more

Time to show some love to a new local mom and pop shop! Caffe Mercato offers a fresh alternative to your same ole, same ole routine. They make everything FRESH!! I find got to stop in for brekkie one morning, and it was delicious! I had the Breakfast Special, which comes with your choice of a sandwich and choice of drink. I had the Turkey, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich and paired it with a 16 oz. Orange Juice, which, to my surprise, was freshly squeezed! I didn't see that one coming, so it was a pleasant surprise. If you don't like pulp, get a different drink, lol. The sammie is a good size, and it comes cut in half along with 3 orange slices. I could have saved one half for another meal, but I just ate the whole thing since I was starving! It tasted that much better, haha! What could be better than a made to order sammie? Serving it up on fresh baked bread, of course! They also offer pastries, muffins, brownies, and cookies. I will try them all! The prices are great! $12.50 for the Breakfast Special is well worth it. Staff is very friendly, and they are happy to answer any questions you may have. Stop in if you get a chance. You might not go back to your usual spot in the mornings, lol. I'm here the second time today. The first time me and my bestie went, and the food was incredible. Tastes so clean and fresh. Jesus was are server and he lived up to his name, his service was heavenly. Giuseppe also helped us out and he was so kind as well, perfect service, amazing food. Today, the second time, I was helped by junior and one other gentleman. They are also wonderful. Please support this place. I got a Decaf SF oat latte. It was an average price, but the latte presentation was phenomenal (dine-in). Somehow, it also stayed extra hot for an unusually long time, which I love. Friendly service. Disappointed. Asked for a small latte, it was terrible too hot and too sweet when I asked it not to be sweet and the taste was not good.

My boyfriend and I are regulars here and we love it at Caffe Mercato. One thing we noticed though is that the strawberry toast has declined in quality and is very inconsistent every time we come in. Which sucks because it's our favorite item! Just went today and it was drenched in honey which made it too sweet as well as messy, sticky, and hard to eat. We always get the matcha latte and vintage turkey panini and those never fail us! Just hoping some change in the strawberry toast because it used to be so good i'm not sure what happened! The strawberries used to be cut thinner with a thinner layer of honey under them with a nicely warmed up toast but now it's not warm, the strawberries are thickly cut, and too much honey. Hopefully the next time I come in, this has changed. Regardless, we love it at Caffe Mercato and are so happy it came to Menifee! read more

I really wanted to love this place, but my expectations fell short. We came in, no one else was in line, maybe a couple people sitting and waiting for their orders. Had difficulty ordering as I guess there is a slight accent barrier? Tried to order an iced coconut latte, it was inputted as an iced coconut mocha latte, which I caught on the screen and told the cashier my correction and he updated it. Then he asked what kind of milk, I said coconut milk 3x while he kept repeating back different types of milk. Then he finally got it and I was super shocked that on top of a $6 small iced coffee, I was charged an additional $1.25 for subbing coconut milk. Starbucks doesn't even do that anymore so it feels like I am being penalized for being lactose intolerant. We sat there for 20 minutes for two small iced coffees, then I was brought out a mocha anyway. I had to wait longer for a corrected drink. Sorry if you're going to charge me $8 for a small coffee, I want it as I ordered and paid for. I would come back to give them a second chance as they had a lot of yummy goodies in their display cases and also have an extensive food menu as well. Just be prepared to wait awhile for your order! read more

Saw all the positive reviews about the iced horchata latte and decided to give it a try. I don't taste the horchata at all. It tastes like a very sweet iced coffee. Also an up charge to change whole milk to oat milk. So total for 16oz was $8 which I think is kind of pricey but they're a local business and they do have a pretty good selection of both food and drinks. I came here during its soft opening and really didn't go back in till recently. I am so sorry I haven't! The food is fresh and delicious! The first time my boyfriend and I tried their egg sandwich and a mango cheese danish. The sandwich was so tasty but the danish was out of this world. My boyfriend actually didn't want any to begin with but ended up eating almost the whole thing. The second time I went, I got their omelette. Very good as well.
