I came here for a quick coffee on a Friday night and was hugely disappointed. The building is really cute and location is super convenient (free parking for up to 3 hours) so i wanted to love this place, but could not. Bad taste in my mouth right off the bat as the man who served us was awkward and kind of rude. My girlfriend got the cold brew (my personal go-to order) and I can say without a doubt it was the worst I've ever had. It was somehow bitter, even though the point of a cold brew is it doesn't have the bitterness of brewed coffee. I was glad I hadn't ordered it until a took a sip of my Carmel latte, which was even worse. I don't know if there was any coffee in it at all or just cheap syrup and milk. It tasted exactly like the lattes you would get from a machine at a Speedway gas station. Summary: All the stars I gave this place were for location and beautiful windows. Visiting Boston and had to stop at this cafe that was adorable from the inside to the out. From soft jazz music, to friendly workers, to being dog friendly, Caffe Nero exceeded my expectations. Something that really stood out to me about the company was the use compostable paper straws. This puts a great public foot forward and already gives me a peak at the cafe's values. Food wise everything was amazing, I especially loved my banana Carmel frappe creme!! This was such a unique flavor and taste and went perfect with my avocado toast. Nice large, spacious location both inside and out. Good amount of outside seating both in front by the fountain and back -- old/former bocce court is still there not sure still active. The coffee as noted is of European strong roast variety and it is do it yourself with a selection of milk, skim, other et al. They a had range of sandwiches I had the caprese sandwich which was delicious much better than one I had a while back at a different location. There were also breakfast sandwiches including vegan breakfast sandwiches and nice variety of baked goods, including cookies from Rosie's bakery I wish I had tried, perhaps another visit. It is pricey but not out of the realm for high end chain in the city, small iced coffee and the sandwich were $14 and then I also tipped. Never have I had such a miserable coffee shop visit in my life. Caffè Nero is supposed to be the Starbucks alternative if you're interested in something refined and unique in flavor and experience; nope. There are better personalities more riveting at a Dunks compared to this location. So rude, so disconnected, so uninterested! We had a girl (with the angry disposition and braces) take our order in the most zombified way, we had to repeat it 3 times, she even rudely refused to give us one of the chocolate croissants that had finished cooking in the oven. But.. why? You're literally in the process of restocking the display, just bag one! The other baristas were just as rude, the older gentleman with the ponytail asked us to move down the line after we placed our order, but there was no where to move. It's a crowded line! Would you like me to push into the man in front of me? Common sense. We left so upset, it's a Sunday morning. What could possibly provoke such terrible moods first thing in the morning? What a great addition to Assembly Row! The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Lots of comfy chairs, books displayed for decor, and even a small fireplace in the back. Wifi is free for 3 hours, which is great for a place to get a bit of work done, but keeps guests out who take up a booth all day. Sorry, no streaming Netflix! The employees were friendly, and welcoming when I said it was my first time. They made sure to give me a punch card, which gives a free item after 10 purchases. I stopped in for a beverage, and settled on the chai tea latte. It was nice and foamy and served in a mug to sit down with. Another employee went around and cleared dishes, as they also serve sandwiches and pastries, too. There's also outdoor seating, which will be great for the warm weather! read more

The lattes were amazing and the staff is very friendly. The staff also worked at a quick speed however, I am leaving a lower rating do to the fact that they have no options for people with dietary restrictions such as gluten allergies. First time visit to the Cafe Nero here. Overall a great atmosphere with a decent amount of seating available. The outdoor seating couple with the large glass pane windows creates an airy vibe that makes working/studying pleasant. The main downsides are there coffee and cleanliness. The coffee is pretty much ok teetering on a darker burnt flavor. Drowning it in milk offsets the "interesting" taste. The floor and counters were littered with numerous napkins and crumbs. The area where you fill your coffee with cream is has layers of milk residue building up on the counter. Get over all of those facts and you have a nice working spot. Considering we are in a global pandemic, the fact that they have no soap in the (ladies) bathroom is atrocious. When I asked about this, they stated it had to have very little soap in the dispenser, because it would just leak out as it was broken. The sane question to follow this up would be.. why do you not have a standard individual hand soap on the sink and/or hand sanitizer, until this issue is resolved?! It's astonishing and does not make people feel comfortable, especially as we start to open back up - this is the fast track of going back into lock down and is a worry about health codes. There were no paper towels and it was a mess. About the product, a "large" iced beverage is a medium at best and I paid 5 dollars for 2 small energy bites. read more

My wife and I had a brief love affair with this place the first few times we visited. It had since been under renovation and has reopened. I come back to poor service. I ask for a 20 oz Caramel Frappe Latte and the kid looks at me with a blank stare like I'm speaking a language foreign to him. I said, "it's in your menu right behind you". When I cash out, I see that he is using oat milk (Silk) in my drink. I couldn't stop him before I noticed and I asked him, "did you just use oat milk?", and he says, "no...", Lying right to my face . I can't say that I am a regular due to the fact that I don't drink coffee often. But when I crave a good cup I always stroll down to cafe Nero at assembly. Hands down better than Starbucks. In a quaint stand alone building,, this Caffe Nero is cozy and slender on the inside. I also like how the shop is mostly windows with plenty of outdoor lighting pour in but not in an intrusive way. lots of smaller tables with one medium sized communal table. There seems to be plenty of outlets as well. The fire place area is comparable to the Downtown Crossing CN. I think the uniqueness of this location is the generous amount of outdoor seating. with the orange line T stop steps away, it's a nice addition to the Assembly Row line of shops. The food and coffee is standard CN style. One limitation is that this location isn't great for groups larger than 3 to visit, unless being outside is not an issue. I will definitely be coming back to study or meet up for coffee. read more

In this store, baristas come with some attitude apparently don't know how to get coffee properly made if the order asks for a little change. It seems that some cannot follow simple instructions. Unfortunately, the poor reviews are valid. I've been to many many caffe Nero stores before, and this branch is messing up with their brand. read more

This place is such a shitshow. Its a shame because the space is so nice and looks really big but there's actually not much space inside at all. Baristas have no idea what's going on and do not know how to make a proper espresso drink. Long lines, slow service, food is nothing special and prices are out of control here. The coffee station is always filthy, stuff spilled everywhere, no napkins, no cream, no straws, no stirrers. The tables are always a mess and the staff is genuinely unpleasant. Like much of the Assembly Row area, the Caffe Nero is aesthetically pleasing while also not seemingly prepared for the glut of customers. Service at this location is swift and generally pleasant. However, it can be difficult to find a seat on the weekends amidst the people on their laptops sometimes eating/drinking nothing. As with most Caffe Nero locations, I keep coming back because they are the rare cafe that offers pots of tea and their pastries are delicious. I ordered a sandwich online and after I picked it up and was on my way home, I realized the bread was extremely stale (hard to the touch) and it had not been heated (the bacon looked close to raw). While they did replace my sandwich when I went back to ask, I wish I hadn't gone back at all because I watched a large fly hop from pastry to pastry in the pastry case, which are all unwrapped and exposed. When I pointed it out to the woman who was replacing my sandwich, she looked confused as to why I was telling her. I just wasted $6.50 on a sandwich that went straight into the trash. read more

Well well well... this is exciting to me. I have never been to Assembly Row. And I have found myself here this morning. Next to a stand alone building called Caffè Nero. Now, I am a DD girl. Mainly because I do not have too many options for coffee where I am. However, I will be here for approximately 6 weeks. And I know where I will be getting my morning java. Upon entering the building, I was delighted to see an open concept floor plan. Small and quaint. Extremely clean and smelling just perfect for a Monday morning. The staff was so friendly and helpful in the decision making process. Due to the numerous options, and me being inexperienced in this type of store, the barista was very knowledgeable in the process. I didn't catch his name (will get it tomorrow) He and the others were welcoming and kind to the *regulars* that arrived while I was perusing the menu items. I decided on a slice of zucchini nut bread, a lemon poppy seed scone and a hot white chocolate mocha. I only gave 4 stars because I have many more days to go, and I have only sipped the beverage... which is OUTSTANDING. I look forward to returning tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the...... Seeing a warm smiling, happy face in the morning, is KEY for me to have a good day. Job well done bois. Kudos to the interior decorator; he/she somehow managed to develop a cozy, lush, warm abode that any Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks will envy. Natural light, polished hardwood, comfy sofas - quite the aesthetic addition to the Assembly Row scene. Service is mixed, but majority of the time, servers remain quite friendly in an authentic way. I'll always prefer someone to focus on my order over fake smiles that cause a lower quality product. My drink of choice is the Chai Latte and I highly recommend it with cinnamon and almond milk. As an avid, non-coffee drinker, Caffe Nero provides alternative options, teas, food, sweets, and drinks for all seasons. The hefty pricing is the largest complaint, but generally, the quality always remains consistent. Though this is not my everyday tea/drink choice, it's a solid place for a "Treat Yo Self" moment after a long week. read more

Tough parking, prices ok, coffee has no flavor whatsoever. Was looking for a good high quality coffee shop in the area and was looking forward to trying Nero in Assembly Row. Impressive space, ordered an americano for me (always black with nothing in it). My wife got a brewed coffee (added cream). Mine tasted like hot water and that they forgot to add the espresso and my wife's tasted only of cream, no coffee flavor whatsoever. We are in dire need of good coffee places. As is evident at every Caffe Nero location I've been to. They are all packed. Perhaps nowhere more so than at this location. It's small to begin with and there's apparently a huge demand for hang out cafes in the gleaming and new Assembly Square. Definitely a great place to meet up with friends but probably won't hang out here otherwise as there's really not a lot of room and the handicapped accessibly door makes it hard to open and close, not to mention the door stays open for a longer than necessary time, bringing freezing air into the space inside. read more

Finally decided to check out Cafe Nero for the first time. Decent coffee, baked goods , sandwiches, chocolates the lists goes on for food & beverages. My personal favorite was the White Chocolate Mocha it was the right amount of sweetness, what makes this coffee shop different from the others is the decor, comfortable seating along with outdoors when the weather is nice . If coffee isn't your thing they also have tea , water and other choices for beverages, whether you're just hanging out with friends, studying , catching up on work or even going on that coffee date. read more

Get some competent staff! I worked in a cafe for 3 years, it's NOT that difficult. I live in the area and the only reason I go here is as a last resort because I'm heading away from Starbucks and the que in Capital One is big. My order is either messed up or I'm standing there for 7 minutes for a coffee. This morning, I was the only one there. No one in que before me and no one after me. It took him 7 minutes to make me one coffee. Back and forth mindlessly and then someone came in after 5 minutes and he started making their coffee and I'm standing there waiting for my frappe! I've been to many locations of Nero and I can say that this is one of my favorite. The location is number one reason as there is plants of street parking available around it. The second one is interior. They have a beautiful fire place (fake but gorgeous) and 2 nice big couches around it where you can sit and sip your coffee. I saw this place all over London but I ignored it for my faithful friend Starbucks and of course tea- I was in London! Well what a mistake that was! The beverages here are awesome! I got a latte here and I was so happy with my order. If I hadn't been trying to catch a bus back to NY, I would've stayed longer and ordered more. They take their time to make your drink it isn't rushed and I felt the "love" in the drink. The foam was yum so much I wanted to lick it out but my friend drowned at me as I was about to do it! Baristas are very attentive and place is beautifully decorated with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered a frappe latte. When I finally got it, I had to run, but as I was walking, I realized it wasn't cold at all, almost as if it had melted. It was fresh though, so it must have just been blended milk and an espresso shot. It took so long to get it I didn't have time to return to ask them to add ice to it and return it to the blender. read more

The building and atmosphere are so beautiful that it's worth it to check it out for that alone. They also have plenty of cozy seating and free wifi. I came in on a saturday afternoon and the line was out the door. The staff kept it moving pretty decently and most of them were kind and pleasant. I really enjoyed my coffee but it was expensive and the sizes were small. I wanted to try their sandwiches but there were a couple of flies around them which was a turn off.
