Very bad experience. We went there in a running night and with an one year old baby. The receptionist was very rude. She told us there is no table. But there are empty tables out there. Tried this cafe because of groupon. Service was slow, the food took a while to come out. I order 2 eggs over easy, one egg broke in the pan and that is the way it was serviced. Order a bloody mary, no celery, taste was off. when we were done the waiter did not come over to ask if we would like anything else, just handed us the check. Ambiance is great! I have lived in Pelham for two years and always loved going to this restaurant. But it never is consistent, Some days the food is awesome, and other days the food is terrible. To a point where you'd think there is a different chef there every time. So tonight I went with my mother and of course it was an OFF night. Needless to say I will never EVER be back again. Food was terrible, drenched in sauces that were too much flavor for the dish and the wait staff was even worse than the food. They are very uninterested in waiting on you. Then to make matters worse, they charged me an additional dinner which was a 30 dollar dish. The bill was 144 so I looked and sure enough there was an add on. I told the waiter and he was unpleasant about it. When he took the dish off the bill was 118. I never mind spending money on food. I LOVE food so its money well spent. We had a Groupon...arrived at 7:15 on a Saturday. It was Labor Day weekend, so it was not crowded, at all. We told them right away that we had a Groupon, and noted it when we made our reservation. Immediately, we were given a "lecture" on how to use it. Okay, fine..better to know any restrictions, right away, although most places go our of their way to make your experience as pleasant as possible, with the hopes of repeat business. Okay...whatever...but here's where it got really bad...No one took our drink order for the first 25 minutes. Our dinner order was taken about 35 minutes after we arrived. We weren't allowed to order any specials with the Groupon, even though it said nothing of this restriction when we bought it. We didn't get our apps until an hour after dinner service...and two of the four were cold. Dinner was served a full two hours after we arrived....and our side dishes were ice cold. The food was just average...lobsters were cooked well, but were so tiny. Mashed potatoes were cold and bland. The french fries were so salty, that they were inedible. My son's steak was cooked well, but very tough. We didn't get so much as an apology or an acknowledgement from out waiter, about why our food was taking so long. We watched table after table who arrived after us, receive their food, pay their check and leave. It's not like we ordered anything complicated. One steak and three lobster dinners. Anyway, we eat out, A LOT, and while we use Groupon, we also go back to places we like, very often, and pay full price. I wouldn't return to this place. You'd think with the many bad reviews that they get for their service on Open Table, that they'd work on this. Every business has it's "off" nights, but I expect the waiter, chef or owner to come out an apologize. We got nothing but poor service, and a lot of attitude from a snarky waiter. I regret now that we tipped our waiter on the full amount, had we not used the Groupon, because clearly, he didn't feel us worthy of good services or an apology, but at least I know that I did the right thing. read more

Ate here on a Wednesday, and used a Groupon. Asked the waiter his opinion about two dinners, and got the standard "they're both good." That stock answer shows me they're uninformed or simply don't care too much about the food. I picked the scallops, and was informed a few minutes later they didn't have any. So I chose the grouper. More on that in a moment. We split the crab cakes appetizer. Mostly filler, noticeably lacking jumbo lump or back fin pieces. My date ordered the hanger steak and it was fantastic. Juicy and tender, with a hint of sweetness in the sauce. My fish came out perfectly cooked and seasoned. Only problem - it wasn't grouper. If I had to guess, I'd say it was a piece of flounder. It was so tasty I didn't object. I would like to try the brunch Groupon next here. But I wouldn't come back without a discount because the menu and drinks are overpriced. Giving Cafe Regatta 3 stars because the food, despite the crab cakes/lack of scallops/wrong fish, was quite good. read more

We purchased a groupon for 2 lbs of King Crab legs and 2 glasses of champagne price $39.00. Being unfamiliar with this restaurant, we were excited to try something new. We arrived early to the restaurant and were warmly greeted by our waiter. We presented our groupon and he happily accepted it--stating that he had a very nice champagne for us. He proceeded to present a vintage bottle of champagne and told us that we would love this brand. Okay--this seems great--and we were excited about our new restaurant find. After the first "groupon" champagne we each ordered a second glass as these were only 1/2 full. We ordered appetizers--two salads-cost $10 each--seems a bit pricey for salad but it was my birthday so what the heck--why not. Well here comes the groupon kicker. I am not a meat eater--and have been eating King crab legs for 25 years. I KNOW what King crab legs are as they are part of my usual diet. The waiter came with a VERY small dish for two people which prompted me to say "Is that it?" He immediately stated --yes--this is two pounds of King crab legs. Well--this waiter must have thought he had two unschooled seafood patrons in front of him. We were given the very tiniest portion of snow crab legs, so small in fact, that the seafood fork could not get the minuscule meat out. But wait--I'm not done yet! Being it was my birthday, they gave us a small piece of cake which we shared and my friend ordered tea. If you are unfamiliar with the workings of groupon, the establishment gets half of the listed value. So, if you purchase a $50 groupon the establishment gets $25. Well- it was apparent that Caffe Regatta wasn't interested in the new business that Groupon can offer due to its deals. Now the big groupon F-you. And this is by no means a slap to groupon which is an awesome site! The bill arrived and it was $80 cash only!!!! WTF? How is it so much after a $39 deal? Well--that's what I am going to share. Apparently, and NO it's NOT in the fine print, you are taxed on EVERYTHING and then you are mandated to pay an 18% gratuity--CASH ONLY of course! Really--nothing in the fine print? The waiter said--this is how it's done. So--this dinner of 2 glasses of champagne, 2 salads and SNOW CRAB legs (on sale at Stop and Shop for $5.99/lb) has cost us $120--cash only!!! I did not have that much cash-(always pay by credit)-and we were told that there is an ATM right down the block. Thank goodness my friend had the cash on her! Now here is a side bar that will have you laughing--not to ruin my birthday so she didn't tell me until the next morning--my friend--who recently took a class in champagne tasting--told me that they switched bottles of the bubbly and gave us a cheaper brand--not the vintage that was promised. She knew this by the bubble size, flavor etc--info she learned in the class. Wow--these owners must have thought us to be dopes! In the end--Groupn agreed and refunded our $39.00--so we were still out $81.00--lesson learned--NEVER GO TO CAFFE REGATTA! read more

The server, Louis, was attentive. We got the Groupon deal and the halibut was so flaky and perfect. My hubby's sirloin steak was a good, thick, tender, and juicy given in a generous portion. The mussels were good but the lobster sauce was to die for. We are Asians , by the way and was afraid of the other negative comment given by another Asian yelper but we definitely had a different experience. Will come back again. My wife and I went here the other day for a lobster dinner with a Groupon. We thought that the food was all very mediocre and the service was fairly inattentive. The lobsters were overcooked and the crab cake appetizer we started with was mostly filler. I couldn't find any crab in the crab cake. somewhat disappointing experience for the price. it seems like this place has seen better days, but the prices have continued to go up. food was average, but for a $35 steak i expected something amazing. the place was pretty empty on a weekend evening at prime time, which is somewhat indicative of their quality. the service was okay, but they weren't too friendly. The service is excellent but the food is really overpriced. The menu prices they list online are substantially lower than the current menu. Lobster is at an all time low now but they are charging $24 per pound (1 & 1/2 pound lobster for $36!). Oysters are moderate at $2.50 The wine list is also on the pricey side as well. I understand that they are trying for an upscale experience but I think they need to reconsider the pricing considering the location etc. read more

Have been here a few times before and was pleased with the food except for the waiter with an attitude. Last night was a total disappointment. The Groupon was not honored correctly. Then the appetizer of lobster croquets arrived cold. My entree of grilled halibut was a nightmare full of large bones and had to be sent back. And of course we had the same waiter as before. The restaurant was busy but quiet when we arrived and then halfway through dinner a rowdy crowd came and hung out at the bar. The noise was beyond bearable. If I could write this review w/o giving a star, I would. On Friday, September 20, 2019 at approximately 5pm, when Caffe Regatta 1st opened for the evening, my friend and I (2 women of color) walked in & got a table. We were the 1st guests to arrive. We both ordered the same dish, Seafood Spaghetti. We also ordered an appetizer, fried calamari and my friend ordered 1 coke. After we were finished eating, we remained seated while conversing. Our waiter received a tip for more than 22% of the entire bill. That's before the Restaurant.com coupon was applied. At about 6:45pm, another waiter comes over to our table and says, "We are going to need this table in 5 minutes." As we looked around and saw that there were empty tables, no one was waiting to be seated and thought, "Maybe we were asked to leave because we were the only people of color in the entire establishment," we then left. That same waiter saw us as we were approaching the door to leave, never thanked us for our business. My friend and I support many restaurant establishments in the Westchester area. This is one restaurant that we will never give our business to again. read more

Came here for dinner with a Groupon, our first time. Started with a caipirinha cocktail, which I haven't seen offered elsewhere, so delicious. Husband enjoyed oysters from the raw bar (only East coast available that night) and I had steamed mussels in a lobster broth... omg!!! Huge mussels with chunks of lobster in an amazing broth (asked for a spoon and we slurped away). Hubby really enjoyed his halibut on a veggie puree, as did I my seared scallops over risotto. We had very good wines by the glass (per Groupon) and shared perfect strawberries drizzled in honey with whipped cream. Service was friendly, attentive, water glasses kept filled, and we even enjoyed the pretty background music, which added to our evening. We visited Cafe Regatta on June 20th for my birthday. We had the lobster groupon. I had read all the reviews and I must say I was a little nervous about going here to celebrate. I am so happy we decided to give it a try. First we were greeted by the nicest of servers Jerry who insisted we pick a seat that we wanted. Next the champagne came cold and delicious. Then we ordered appetizers which were delicious. The lobsters were served in a beautiful presentation and tasted amazing!!!!! more then we could eat. Next we met Vincent the bartender what a nice guy!! He was willing to make anything I wanted. So glad we bought this Groupon, otherwise we would have never visited this restaurant. Best pancakes in westchester! We found this small restaurant and have been going there for Sunday brunch. The pancakes are fluffy and delicious. Their lobster Benedict is good too. We also went for dinner and discovered that their polpo, which is an octopus salad, is amazing. Left me wanting more. The ambiance is nice and the service is great. We were seated right away. Had the worst dining experience here that I've had in a long time. The service was slow. Took 30 minutes for our salads to be served. After the entree was served, our waiter never returned to ask how our meals were. If he had asked, I would have explained how the crab cakes were worse than something from the frozen food aisle. They were predominantly breading and very little crab. I picked them apart to find any pieces of crab that I could and left a pile of breading on my plate. No one mentioned it when they finally picked up the plate. Then we ordered coffee and dessert. Got the coffee, finished the coffee, and still no dessert. No one even came back to refill the coffee. Finally we mentioned the service to the manager behind the bar. She did not apologize for the missteps, only made excuses for the waiter. She made enough coffee for two of us since they were out, but not enough for the third person. That person had to take their cup to the bar to ask for more coffee. She filled it with decaf and when we noted that we were not drinking decaf she said that they were out and it was the end of the night. Obviously she was not interested in making any more coffee for her customers. Over priced for what you get, lazy horrible service, and sub par quality food. I will never go back. read more

Portions are a good size - not too small that you leave hungry, but not obscene. Menu has plenty of options, mostly for seafood lovers, but enough for those who don't like fish. This is our favorite "go to" place from a casual evening out to a special celebration where you still want personalized service. Celebrated my husband's birthday last week and he ordered one of the evenings specials, the grilled lamp chops, OMG he couldn't stop raving. The staff is wonderful and really add to the overall experience. We love going for brunch and the great variety they have on the menu. We went to this classy, cozy restaurant for brunch last weekend and had a lovely experience. We shared yummy muscles in white wine sauce for our appy. For entrees, I had eggs benedict with lobster. My husband had a steak selection. Both were delicious. A big plus, from my point of view, was that the eggs in the Benedict were poached perfectly...a rarity. Went with a Groupon on a Saturday night because they advertised on-line for a Kentucky Derby special for drinks and beers. Bartender was told about the promo and said she would honor it but they didn't have what was advertised!! After drinks for 6 people, it ended up costing $150 dollars because they charged $8 for a beer, when it was advertised as a special $3 a beer. We were not very happy. Then we sat for dinner with the Groupon. We had to ask what we were entitled to using the Groupon. The food was excellent, but we felt we were treated like second class customers using the Groupon. The restaurant was very busy, so we do not know why they need to offer Groupons if they do not like customers who are using them. We will not be returning. Amazing evening!!! My Partner and I came here for dinner on a Friday night and lets just say from the food to the waiters everything was excellent. Our waiter and bus boy was very personable and friendly. It made the entire dinner that much more enjoyable. Love Caffe Regatta. In their earlier years, there were some minor occasional missteps, but it's on solid footing these days. The cocktail and wine list is good, the salads are great (that goat cheese spinach salad is really worth having every single visit), and the fish is never less than perfect. Their mashed potatoes are also fantastic. I had a 40th birthday lunch here for my husband, with about 40 guests, and everyone was thrilled. They are also good with children, and very accomodating to them. It is nice that a small town like Pelham has a restaurant like this that can be good for the family with kids earlier in the evening, but also good for date nights/groups of friends.
