I just had dinner @ Caffe Regatta & had a GREAT time. I had a GROUPON for a 2 Lobster dinner , the dinner was cooked just right , & the Champangne was a good quality wine. We ordered the mozzarella appetizer was very different from what i'm used to (in a good way). After dinner we ordered the bread pudding & caffe latte's which were as good as the dinner was. Service was very good , the wait staff was very attentive . I will be back even if i don't brind a Groupon. As far as it being to expensive , I found it to be on par with other White Linen restaurants I frequent. Stop in & enjoy !!! read more

This was my second time here. The first time, many months ago, my experience was just ok, nothing exceptional. This visit, the service was mostly very good. We were promptly seated. The hostess was a bit curt and to our surprise when she saw our Restaurant.com certificate (we set it on our table), she took it and told us that we'd have to pay our balance in cash. Wish we knew that before - it isn't on the certificate at all - as it really limited us as we were low on bills! (We would have ordered drinks and maybe dessert.) Any how, our water was never empty and there was always wait staff nearby. Our waiter was attentive but a bit low energy. No complaints about the food at all! We had a grilled octopus with caper appetizer. I couldn't taste that it was grilled but it was so flavorful that we had to ask for more bread as we wanted to sop up all the delicious sauce. The octopus was tender, not at all rubbery. I got their burger and it came with fries AND onion rings. Nice presentation (for a burger) and it tasted as good as the burger down the street at Bistro Rollin! My partner got the seared scallop. He was making happy food noises. We have been at Caffe Regatta several times, but can only say that it is sometimes very good, sometimes not so good. Some portions are remarkably small--tonight two of us ordered salmon--the salmon was very good, but the portion was tiny--not small, tiny. On the other hand one of us ordered pasta with seafood, and the portion was large, but the pasta was way overcooked. A side order of string beans came out substantially raw--was sent back and came out substantially raw again. A pork chop, however, was big and very nice. Odd. Should be named Cafe Forgetta-ble. Nothing was stand out. Decent brunch. Kinda pricey. Service kinda spotty. Had to ask for pepper. No plates brought out with appetizer. Ordered mozzarella & tomatoes w basil appetiizer at brunch. Cold, nothing but slicing involved. It took 30+ minutes to arrive. Only 6 of the 12 tables were occupied and half of those had already been served. "Fresh basil" consisted of barely a dusting of minuscule particles of dried powder that may have drifted over when another dish was being prepped. Hint to staff; when you slice open a tomato that's the main part of a dish and it's green, unripe and hard as a rock inside, use another tomato! Had to use tiny bread plates which was ok since none of the entrees came with bread. So why the bread plates to begin with? Just for looks? Olive Oil that was supposed to be on the appetizer was all over the bottom of the dish. Left a nice blob on the table. Very sloppy. Also, come over ready with fresh pepper, don't make me have to flag you down 10 minutes after you serve me because you disappeared. Especially if there are no pepper shakers on the table. I ordered sunny side up eggs, got over easy and the white was STILL all runny. How do you do that? Hamburgers others ordered were huge though. 2 stars because the waiters were semi-attentive and my wife liked the eggs Benedict. So many better brunch places to go. read more

For something different, I decided to take my friend out of the city to this restaurant in Pelham. The atmosphere of this place is so incredibly relaxed, you can't help but sit back and just enjoy your glass of wine. Ambient space and an attentive staff made for a wonderful experience. The food was beautifully prepared and tasty (not overboard). We had the salmon and the snapper. Note that sides are a la carte. Oh, the snapper was great... just a touch of crispness of the skin (like they put it in the broiler really quickly) but it was nice and a little raw on the inside. Excellent. We topped it all off with some cheese cake, which while I don't normally enjoy it, was a nice complement to our meal and a solid finish. Such an all around great meal is hard to find. Definitely would go back, even though you've gotta drive there. There is parking out front on the street, it's not hard to find, but I can imagine during the day, it could be a bit more difficutl -- there isn't any dedicated parking. read more

This place needs a little work. We went there on Sunday morning for brunch (with a Groupon) and it was a good while before a waiter came over to take our drink order. They seemed to be under-staffed with only two waiters. We practically had to wave our arms and quack like a duck to get the waiter's attention to order food. The portions we ordered were excellent, but some of the flavors were off. The steak and eggs (over easy) were excellently prepared, but things like the scrambled eggs and pancakes were poor quality for the price. For my husband and I, this one of our typical neighborhood spots; a no-brainer when we just want to get out the house and eat. We've been here on multiple occasions pre-COVID-19 so I believe I can accurately assess their performance during the current, unprecedented circumstances...there has been an unfortunate decrease in their service. My husband ordered an angel hair shrimp dish. When it arrived, it was definitely, NOT angel hair pasta. It was spaghetti. He commented to the server when the dish was served that it was not angel hair pasta. The server replied that they probably ran out of angel hair pasta in the kitchen and this is what they had. While my husband was fine with that, it should have been expressed either before the food was brought out, or at the very least, as it was being served. It should not be incumbent upon the customer, after the plate has been set before him/her, to note the discrepancy between what was advertised on the menu/ordered and what was provided. As for me, I ordered the lamb. I ordered it medium and maybe half of the chops were in fact medium, while the remainder were medium to well done. Some were a little dry, but overall they were flavorful and enjoyable. We mentioned both of these facts to our server, who kindly provided desert free of charge. He acknowledged the short-comings and attempted to make amends; true customer service. Hence, an extra star in the review. Everyone is adjusting to the new norm, and sometimes performances fall short of previous standards. The ability by staff to acknowledge and compensate for shortcomings is appreciated. read more

Very cozy restaurant, with food that dances on the pallate, it is pretty pricey but hasn't disappointed. I would say there is a little break in service as the server wasn't going to take our order , as insisted drinks have to be ordered first AND separately, and then took eons to return to take our order.. not too quick to come out of the kitchen either.. so the food and decor shines.. I would probably remove the large TV's over the bar or covered them during dinner service as that always is a distraction in small intimate setting such as this. The food items: buratta.. quite delicious sautéed spinach - no complaints but no mind blown either lobster ravioli - muscles - really great size for the price actually - i was most pleased with this dish albeit not enough bread served, small piece of flat bread me and my friend had to split, rather she kept and I took the left over dinner roll. scallops - zero complaints - wonderful dish. read more

My review on this places isn't about the food, I'm actually pleased with the food, it was delicious!!! I had the Buratta as an appetizer, amazing, pan roasted scallops delish delish! And brownie with gelato just ended my day with a smile on my face!! But because of the lack of service I'm giving a 2 star! I felt unattended, perhaps a bit discriminated! Coulda have been the reason of that lack of service the fact I used a groupon? Hmmm not so sure what to say about that how we the staff and management needs to work on their customer service skills! My review is really all about the service. We arrived at 7:30 on a Saturday, and it was pretty busy. It took our server 10 minutes to take our drink order then another 15 minutes to take our food order. We then waited another 32 minutes before I asked where our apps were. We ordered two cold apps. A burrata and a octopus salad. He showed up with the apps 1 minute later which proved that our server wasn't paying attention to our table times, and the salads were ready the whole time. The food was great. That is why I gave the 3 stars. They really have to re-train the staff on proper service. read more

TAKE HEED TO ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ABOUT THIS PLACE AND STAY AWAY! Don't waste your money going to Caffe Regatta, it's not worth it. We had a Groupon and that is the only reason why we went here and Groupon is probably the only reason why this place is still even open. As soon as we mentioned we had the Groupon the demeanor of the waiter changed from pleasant to him having an attitude. He hands us menus including the specials of the night menu. When he comes over to take our drink order we ask him instead of getting a 2nd glass of wine ($14) can I order a beer ($8) with the Groupon, he says no. OK not a big deal. He comes back to take our orders, with the Groupon we are allowed 2 Entrees up to $32 each even though there is nothing over $26 on the menu. I proceed to order something from the daily specials menu, he say's sorry you can't order off that menu using your Groupon, I ask him why he gave me that menu and he say's in case I wanted to pay for something off of it instead of using the Groupon, what a stupid answer and a moron waiter (Louis). I mean why give me the special menu in the first place if I'm not allowed to order off of it? So I order a shrimp scampi that is advertised at a higher price then what I wanted off the special menu. It says it has large shrimp with it over pasta. What comes out is 100% unlike any shrimp scampi that I have ordered anywhere else or made myself. There were 5 very small (medium size) previously frozen shrimp on a bed of angel hair with a DARK BROWN sauce. Not even close to what Shrimp Scampi should be, last I checked it should be a yellowish in color butter/wine/olive oil sauce, not this nasty brown sauce that their version came in. The dish was gross, lacking flavor, didn't taste right and was definitely not shrimp scampi. No bread was brought to our table or anyone else we observed using a Groupon (there were quite a few people on Sat night using them). Patrons that were paying for their meals received a bread basket. My girl ordered a fish dish, she said it was disgusting and ate 1/3 of it and we told the waiter to throw the rest out because we weren't bringing that crap home. No one came over during our disgusting meal to ask how we were doing. When the bill came the meal we had was priced out at $106 on it even though if we were to add up everything we had it would have only came out to about $80 and we had to pay the $8.41 tax surcharge on their value of $106. I highly doubt that this is legal. This restaurant is a clip joint joke, do yourself a favor and do not go there, you will regret it. DO NOT buy the Groupon for this place, they will nickel and dime you every which way they can. Unfortunately for this lazy moronic waiter he could have received a nice 25%+ tip like I usually leave but he got a measly 10% and really should have only gotten $2-$3 tip. Came here for brunch and it was fantastic! We had a reservation and were seated immediately. For appetizers we ordered the crab cakes which were surprisingly delicious! For my entree I had the Belgian waffle which came with fresh fruit and whipped cream and it was amazing! My boyfriend had the eggplant with pasta and we thought it was fantastic! This was the worst restaurant experience possibly ever. I'm not sure what the owner's business philosophy is or criteria for hiring knowledgeable staff, but it was a complete disgrace. We walked in for our reservation and what seemed to be a host/maitre d, was vanilla - no hello and welcome but just a look and pointed us to a table in the front corner furthest away form anyone in the place. Apparently being a mixed race couple doesn't mix well here. It got worse. The waiter said hardly a murmur before running off to cater to more important patrons. He finally came back and asked if we would like a drink but didn't know if the Sauvignon Blanc was from France so he ran off - another 10 minutes before he returned and said yes. I had to ask if there were any specials of the day to which he handed me a slip of paper with them listed them and ran off again. We ordered. The food came. Smallest oysters in the world and the most tastelessness beet and ricotta salad. The main course's came and were surprisingly okay. shrimp scampi and scallops. But by this time it was all too late. The point is this place shouldn't be allowed to be in business purely on the racist discrimination inflicted. We paid the bill with no tip. A guy a the bar waved us goodbye. Presumedly the owner. Really embarrassed. I invited some friends out to this place to celebrate my wife's birthday. I spent a whole lot of money and still wanted to hide my face in shame. With all the restaurants out there to pick from, these guys need to step up. Why?? First off my wife's wine glass had a bunch of lipstick on it. No big deal rite? Until the waiter just poured the wine from that dirty glass into a cleaner glass and gave it back to her. Two people at the table ordered salmon. One was over cooked and the other one was raw in the middle. My wife's dish had cold potatoes on the bottom and over cooked fish on top. The lobster crochets, not cheap, were cold in the middle. Too much more to list. My dish was the only one that was OK. I'm glad I ordered a very simple dish. To the owners, please pay attention before you go out of business. My condolences. read more

We celebrated our anniversary in this wonderful seafood restaurant. My husband ordered half a dozen oysters and I had half a dozen clams from the raw bar. We continued with Judith calamari--a combination of calamari and zucchini tempura. We both ordered the delicious seafood pasta with shrimp, scallops, and lobster. My husband ordered two glasses of white wine--a sauvignon blanc and chardonnay, both good. I had herbal tea with lemon. For dessert we had the cannoli--overly sweet for me. Service was impeccable, not rushed and always attentive to removable of used plates and tableware as well as replacement of dishes. The Groupon made this a VERY affordable meal. My wife and I had a great evening at Cafe Regatta. We've been there before, so our expectations were high. They were fully realized. We were seated promptly by an affable hostess. Our waiter, Vincent, added to the pleasure of the evening. The appetizers were great: Mussels and lobster broth was quite tasty, my wife's long bread pleased both of us. Her steak was properly cooked. My Mahi Mahi special was wonderful. We must underline in a positive way the service. Vincent, our waiter, was a joy to work with. He had a good sense of humor and was always there to add to the good atmosphere. The bartender poured a wonderful Manhattan and a pleasing Pinot Noir. All was wonderful, worth the evening. read more

I had the Regatta burger which was so greasy that the bun was so soggy from absorbing all the grease, she had the shrimp scampi and that wasn't to tasty. I found a great Groupon deal for my 2 yr wedding anniversary. It's a bit out of the way for us, but it had some of the best reviews so we took the trek out to Pelham. We started with fresh delicious raw oysters. He wasn't a fan of the vinegar sauce, but that's a personal problem. For an appetizer, we shared the muscles. The sauce they cooked in was so good that once the muscles were finished, I began to eat it like soup! Next I had the seafood pasta & hubby had the lobster bolognese fettuccini. I wish I tried his, but I was too busy devouring mine. So incredibly tasty, not over seasoned, fresh off the stove. I was very pleased. Dessert was a cannolini (4 mini cannolis drizzled in honey & sprinkled with chocolate chips). We were very happy. The only things that made this a 4 star review vs. 5 stars is that the bread was dry & overbaked. And we weren't allowed to take advantage of their Tuesdays BYOB offer since we used a Groupon. Went to Cafe Regatta with friends and had a good dinner. Not the best certainly not the worst. It was very middle of the road. The service was good until the place filled up then the two waiters and busboy had their hands full. The seafood was decent but the meat items ordered were over cooked. After dinner I ordered a cappuccino which took a long time in coming (the place was at capacity) and luke warm. I never had luke warm cappuccino before, I didn't know the machine could even make it that way. I read about many who use a Groupon to dine here. Umm lol... This place was awful. Do not buy the groupon. Or go at all. We walked in and they were empty. I think a tumble weed rolled past my foot. They treated us condescendingly. For appetizers we ordered a plate combo of Jumbo shrimp, clams, muscles, and squid. There was ONE shrimp. NO squid, and TWO clams. It was just a pile of muscles. The muscles were delicious but it was not what we ordered. The waiter didn't come to the table once to ask how the food was. Another couple came into the restaurant and we watched the waiter go to them a couple times and ask how they were and how the food was. I guess they didn't have a groupon. Our groupon offered a glass of wine for up to $14 each. Wines by the glass were offered from $7 to $10 tops. Our groupon also offered an entree for up to $32 each. Entrees were priced up to $26 (just one thing, the steak.). When we asked about this they said, "We changed the menu" - O.K. well thats not what I bought. You would think they would offer some alterations to the groupon guidelines then like 2, $7 glasses for each. Or SOME gesture. NOPE lol. I guess they reallyyy don't like repeat business here. Do yourself a favor and stay away. You'd be doing me a favor too by not giving this buisness anymore encouragement. P.S. The bus boy was SO sweet and helpful/ attentive. I made the mistake, or so I thought, by purchasing a groupon for brunch (one appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks for $33) before checking Yelp. After reading some of these reviews I was so worried I would go and have a bad experience. Honestly this was the best dining out experience I've had and I cannot wait to go back! Everything was perfect! To start my mom and I ordered 2 cappuccinos and the Flat Bread Delicata appetizer. This appetizer is so delicious! The blend of flavors on this flatbread is unlike anything I've ever had. SO GOOD! We then ordered the Lobster Benedict and Grilled Atlantic Salmon for our entrees. (Which took a little for us to decide on since their menu has so many delicious options). Once again we were amazed by the by the delicious flavor of both entrees. Service was wonderful too. Our waitress was a sweetheart who never rushed us or left us hanging in need of anything. Please give this place a chance and don't listen to the negative reviews!! I wish I could give 2 separate reviews of this place. If I were to rate the food and ONLY the food, I would give it 5 stars. Service and hospitality 1 star. So I averaged the rating at 3 stars. Who knew calamari and crab cakes, which you can get ANYWHERE, would be such a highlight?! The kitchen was happy to accommodate changes. Our entrees were absolute PERFECTION. It was priced fairly for the serving sizes and quality. Service was a little slow and inattentive on beverage refills and our waiter had to be constantly reminded that when we wanted more coffee, we ALSO needed more milk. He had ZERO personality, which is fine, I don't want him to sit down and dine with us, but he seemed annoyed when we would catch him walking by and ask for the refills. Where it went HORRIBLY wrong was at dessert. We were a few bites into sharing some banana coconut type cake, that was to DIE for, when my friend pulled an inch size square of hard plastic out of his mouth. It was probably the plastic form that came around the cake before it was served. It was sharp and cut the inside of his mouth. The busboy walked by immediately and VERY apologetic took it to the waiter. Awhile went by and the waiter never came by our table. We asked the busboy, who was kind enough to apologize again, to get the manager. 5 minutes later, nobody had come to visit the table. My friend then got up and walked over to whom he presumed was the manager and got a very lukewarm response. Definitely NOT how you handle something like this. Especially given, he had CUT the inside of his mouth and was BLEEDING. We weren't looking for anything free, but just an acknowledgement and sincere apology. They did comp our ice coffees from the check, instead of the dessert...go figure...which was a nice gesture. However, I definitely would have preferred NOTHING taken off the check and a nice visit to our table from whomever was in charge. The only visit we got was from the waiter to say "Hey I heard what happened, the beverages are on us." I understand that mistakes/accidents happen, but the way you address the incident is EVERYTHING. I was a little sad we couldn't finish that heavenly dessert. I'm even MORE sad because the food was really quite delicious, but unfortunately, the experience and how the situation was handled will prevent me from returning. read more

Took the parents and future in-laws here for dinner the other night in our search for a wedding rehearsal dinner location. Overall, I was not impressed. The interior is well done and nicely lit, but the food just didn't do it for me. My parents mentioned their cod being sub-par and my steak certainly didn't live up to my expectations. Our waiter was stand-offish and very abrupt, seemingly insulted by the fact that we ordered only two glasses of wine and skipped dessert. However, I will give them credit for splitting a single entree across two dishes for my future in-laws to share. Overall, though, I was quite disappointed.
