Let's just be real; I'm a sucker for a great cup of coffee and this place fit the bill! This is a new spot that took the place of the defamed "Drama Burger," and if I'm being honest, I'm happy about it! Stopped in after I took my car to get serviced, and I was impressed how trendy the interiors are. Plenty of open seating, really cool fixtures, relaxing color scheme. Walked up to counter, got help right away! One thing to note is they roast their own coffee beans and when that's the case you def go for the pour-over option. I ordered an El Salvador and an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee. I also figured I should try a latte while I'm at it so, ordered one of them too. While I waited, I just hung out with the barista as she explained why she chooses to make coffee one way; the Hario V60. She said it opened up the flavor of the coffee and really made it taste better and once I tried it, I'm sure glad I chose the V60 for my pour-overs. The latte was delicious but a little too milky for my liking so next time I'll be ordering mine with 4 shots of espresso and a 12oz latte instead of a 16oz one. Besides the coffee I think I should mention that have appetizing pastries; croissants, muffins, parfaits and a few salads. I def see myself coming back here and just taking a day to enjoy the coffee and relax a bit. read more

This is a cool spot that roasts their own coffee. Really interesting twist on some drinks and they also serve food. As you pull in you have the strong smell of roasting coffee in the air outside and thankfully it's not like that inside. Plenty of seating options and outlets. 2 stars because the baristas are great, and the coffee is great, but the manager is trash. Seriously though-- the fish rots from the head down, guys. I absolutely loathe yelp, but I have no idea how else to get this message through to the owners. So here goes. I came in recently to be greeted (if you can call it that?) by a rude, dry cashier. Asked how her day was going (btw, worth noting, I've worked for 5 years in specialty coffee and am formerly a barista/currently the roaster for another local company) and anyways, asked homegirl how her day was going and got literally NO response and a blank stare right through me. Okay, cool. Whatever. Some days are whack and I get it. Said "hey how are you" a little louder but still polite, and she made eye contact and still said nothing. Wild. Anyways, I ordered a pour over (they were slow, so yknow why not). Got my pourover at the bar, thanked the barista, and again, NOTHING. No "enjoy", nothing at all. Like, c'mon you don't owe me kindness but at least be HOSPITABLE like-- it's hospitality and this is rough. I messaged a friend that used to work here asking who this miserable human that took my order was. Turns out, it's the manager! Someone named Laura. Good grief y'all, you gotta do better. I remember when Emilija worked here and the quality of service was just so much more than what I received this past week. Such a shame because Caffeine has such great potential. But after my experience last week, I have no interest in supporting a company where the manager treats customers poorly. If the customers aren't treated fairly, you can guarantee the employees are treated far worse. That's something I refuse to support. read more

We have seen this place a million times over the years but this is the first time we've tried it out. I can't believe we have been missing out on this amazing place. The avocado aioli biscuit was delicious. The biscuit itself tasted like is was homemade from scratch and all the flavors and fresh ingredients in the sandwich made a perfect breakfast. The orange cold brew was something new for us and we loved it. The combination of the orange with the cold brew made for a tasty refreshing drink. We will definitely become regulars! read more

Hello there, I am sure this is not new news, and yet, I just want to reach out and mention how problematic the high pitched sound is coming from one of your fridges at your 212 Downtown Tampa location. From my understanding, the sound has been like that for months which is very discouraging. I just popped in for a hot bevergae and to get some work done and concentrating is impossible w/o noise cancelling headphones on. It's also really challenging to know that the staff for this location has to endure this continual sound for months on end - I am hoping this note can help expedite whatever process is necessary to repair/replace the fridge and be able to enjoy the coffee shop in its entirety.  Your staff is incredible and for that I am giving a 3-star review. read more

I'll keep this short and sweet. Caffeine has really good espresso. The baristas are friendly and the prices are decent. With that said, the last two times I've visited this place it smelled like a backed up sewer. Not a faint smell, but an overpowering smell that was extremely noticeable upon entering. The first time this happened I questioned the barista and she acted like there was no smell. Another person at the bar acknowledged that it smelled too. The second time this happened i didn't even bother to question the barista. I planned on doing some work but the smell was so bad that I ended up leaving and going to buddy brew down the street. Hoping that these were two isolated incidents and not an issue with the building. This place has a cool vibe and good coffee so I'd hate to not come back because of the smell. read more

Caffeine Roasters is definitely doing something right. First of all, I love that there is a drive thru. Next visit, I Will make a trip and update the review. I got an avocado aioli ham biscuit and an iced latte with Butterscotch flavor. Upon receiving the biscuit, it immediately smelled like heaven. The second thing I was excited by was the size. I've never had a breakfast biscuit sandwich of such a nice portion. I also lived that there was kale on the sandwich, I appreciated the extra helping of veggies for breakfast. The flavor was phenomenal! I'm not a huge fan of biscuits but I'd order this one over and over. The egg was scrambled perfectly, the avocado was well seasoned, and the cheddar cheese was of good quality. My latte was also delicious. It wasn't overly sweetened, the coffee bean flavor was amazing, and the butterscotch flavor was nice and smooth. I've definitely found a new favorite place to grab a quick bite! Having been to the first Caffeine location in the heart of downtown, and leaving unimpressed, I found this newer pop-up to be significantly more enjoyable in every way! Located on the corner of Kennedy and Armenia, this installment has an actual parking lot rather than the strictly street-side parking of the original. Additionally, I found the interior of this location to be infinitely more inviting - with a spacious cafe that holds ample, comfortable seating options, and cool and funky decor, I felt like I could breathe and really concentrate on the work I had brought, unlike the cramped and awkwardly quiet/uncomfortable experience I had at the first Caffeine. The drink menu is the exact same as the first location, and I tried out an iced vanilla latte. I found it similarly average as the iced mocha I had tried at the first one, thus my one star deduction. But the expanded food menu at this location is impressively mouth-watering! I ordered an avocado/salmon/poached egg toast and it was delicious! They do have a drive-thru here which I think is a cool concept - unfortunately none of the toasts can be ordered through the drive-thru, so to enjoy one you'll have to obtain it the old fashioned way. All in all I paid about $12 (including tip), which seems pretty par the course. The location is easily accessible, the environment is GREAT, and the product is solid - I'd definitely recommend this spot if you've got work/schoolwork to knock out, or for a cozy spot to grab coffee and catch-up with the people in your life! They have a good roast! This isn't a spot to go rushing. Everything is done fresh to order and in the moment. The banana bread is super yummy! I have tried their lavender latte and its delicious but only if you like those types of notes. Cappuccino is a solid safe play if you aren't a coffee drinker. The coffee itself is pretty good, the ratio of the lattes are decent and the aesthetic of the place is great. The competency of the workers on getting orders is a little rough. We ordered at the drive thru and then pulled up to the window and he asked us for our order again, then ended up still getting it wrong. And it wasn't hard stuff either just 2 lattes. This use to be my favorite breakfast spot. Under new management it just plain sucks. Food quality has lessened, all the sudden the salmon deviled eggs are never available despite being on the menu. Almost too inviting judging from the crowded parking lot on a recent Friday visit. But if you are lucky enough to score a parking spot and head inside you will discover why this place is so popular. I love a community coffee shop that feels authentic and serves up good food and beverages and does not feel like you are in an assembly line. The staff asked questions and offered information. They prepared everything perfectly as we had ordered. And they did not seem to mind we spent time without ordering additional items. In fact, we tried to clear our own table and were told it was not necessary. Love this establishment but it is truly tricky to get into and exit from due to some very creative parking by patrons who seem to not care if their cars may be in the way. Love the concept.
