This unassuming little roaster was an accidental find on my part. The drive through line was long, I I went in. I'm glad I did. It was packed with students: usually a good sign. I saw them making matcha tea with a bamboo whisk. That changed my order. My co-pilot ordered a straight cappuccino. It was incredibly smooth. The matcha was good quality also, with that weird, almost fishy twang it has. They have a variety of pastries in their case as well as cookies and muffins (are those considered pastry?). They serve some interesting signature ice coffee. I got the Ice Caramel Delite. It is $4.5 for about 12 oz. for ice coffee that size is considered on the high side for the price. Most ice coffee serve in 16 oz due to ice was added at 70% of entire cup. With 12 oz. you will have less coffee in it. 5 big sip and all gone. The coffee is good taste. Especially the caramel in it at the bottom. It interesting to have that. The coffee is very concentrated which after the ice melt, I still like to drink on it. read more

I have dined in and taken out food items a few times since my last review. The staff is awesome and couldn't be more cordial/friendly. The vibe is chill and makes a nice venue as a workspace, meeting, or meet up locale. Complimentary wi-fi is offered, no use fighting the crowds at the big chain coffee shops. There is water in a dispenser available for guests at all times. Comfy and inviting seating decorate the interior. I love frequenting this small business and I hope they stay in town for awhile. On my most recent visit I took a chia seed pudding to go and consumed it the following day. I loved the texture, sweetness level (not overly sweet) and addition of fresh berries adorning the top which was a nice touch. I am usually not one for adding granola to food items as it tends to be sweet but the granola provided with the "pudding" really was the icing on the cake. I recommend you try this item. Also, the hot food item I ordered came out hot and tasted fresh. They have added flatbreads to their lunch menu and I have yet to try them. I also ordered their strawberry fruit tea offering as I am currently not consuming caffeine. It was steeped using loose leaves and was quite tasty. I will continue coming here as long as it exists. This was my least favorite shop that we visited while in town. I don't want to slam them too hard with the stars because this type of place serves a purpose but I'd recommend against it if you're into micro roasted coffee that is roasted to bring out the quality of the beans. The rough: The espresso was burnt tasting but not as rough as Starbucks. I don't use syrups but saw they they're using Torani which has good ratings but is created with more processed ingredients and corn syrup - it does affect the taste. The shop wasn't very clean (but listen, this is a weird economy and getting staffed isn't so easy right now). The nice: the location, the decor. Last.. this was one of the more expensive places which typically the combo of bunt coffee/expensiveness knocks me down to a two. read more

First time coming here as I happened to be in the area. I got a Cappuchino and plain butter croissant. The coffee tasted amazing, definitely miles and miles better than Starbucks. The croissant was okay, not great, not bad. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only thing I'd ask is they add something for the heat of the cup as it was impossible to hold and drink without needing about 6 napkins over the cup. And (not their fault due to covid19) but I couldnt sit and enjoy my drink as it was full and plenty of people seem to sit there for awhile.... so I had to take it to go. Too bad! read more

Avocado biscuit looked really nice on other viewer's picture but what I got didn't have avocado in it... there's a bunch of spinach but not avocado. I ordered a small Chai Latte and a large Iced Cafe Latte. Chai: it's just milk, barely sweetened, no chai. Cafe Latte: I asked for it to be sweetened, it's not sweetened at all and it's the same size as my small chai when I ordered large. They get 2 stars because the workers are nice and polite. Because this might be my new favorite coffee shop in Tampa Bay. --- --- --- I was really excited to see the old Chinese restaurant that occupied this space for years, be turned into something useful. But unfortunately, Drama Burger was just kind of... weird. I sadly was not surprised to see its life span be as short as it was. That excitement was re-newed when I saw that this building would now house a coffee spot. I was even more pumped when I scoped out pictures of their food options! There are some really great coffee shops in the Tampa Bay area, but we have a shortage of those that deliver 5-star coffee and 5-star food. Caffeine Roasters kills it on both fronts. First off, the coffee menu is amazing. They equally serve hardcore coffee fanatics, as well as those who enjoy coffee doused in sugary stuff. I could come here the next ten days and order ten different drinks that I'd be in to. For my first experience, I could pass on the iced aero cappucino - three things I love in coffee, all in one! It was as delicious as I could have hoped for. And for those that like your coffee sweet, there seem to be quite a few options for adding syrup that aren't necessarily on the menu. We heard a lot of orders being called out with various flavors added. And then the food. Oh, the delicious food. I couldn't pass on the avocado aioli ham biscuit, and it was just as amazing as the description alludes to. The person who took our order mentioned that their biscuits are made from scratch in-house, and it shows. They are so soft and really melt as you're chewing. There wasn't a thing I'd change about it. Meanwhile, my wife was equally as pleased with her caprese baguette. Just like the coffee menu, I could visit several days in a row and order something new each time, because there are so many great options. So much flavor! The food here is amazing! The Turkey sandwich is my favorite. The cranberry aioli is something special. So is the Ham, egg, and avocado aioli breakfast sandwich. You can mix and match the bread option on your sandwich's; I love their croissant bread. Also, for Matcha lovers, this is the best Matcha you'll find in tampa. To get to the point, the espresso is not for me. The way the beans are roasted results in a very fruity flavor that, to me, tastes like spoiled milk. Obviously, this is a very personal preference, and nothing is actually spoiled. Lesson learned; I'll just head down the street to Buddy Brew if I need a latte. That being said, and the reason why this place gets 4 stars, the ambience is great, the service was uber-friendly, and the menu of breakfast and lunch items definitely enticed me to make another trip to Caffeine in the future. Not to mention, their pastry case sang to me. The chocolate chip cookies looked a little sad, but everything else looked great! While I was there, I sat on the big couch (you'll know the one). I sank into it way deeper than I thought I would. It was super comfy! This place is definitely where you want to be for a morning meeting, a study session, or when you need a cute place to catch up with a friend or three. There is plenty of seating, lots of natural light, and the interior is very clean. The staff were all pleasant and smiley, particularly when a regular walked in. It was nice to experience that sense of community in Tampa, a place where people are wont to forget your name as soon as they write it on a to-go cup. I will definitely be back to try some other options, even though the espresso was not my favorite. It seems a lot of "hip" places roast their beans to be more acidic and not as dark, or "burnt," if you want to point fingers at Starbucks. I thought this was an important point to mention, however, because I'm a fan of nuttier, darker espresso, and I know others are as well! This is my second visit to the Caffeine Roasters on Kennedy. I liked it the first time, but it was even better the second time. The service made it better. The barista was so nice and very welcoming. He made it more special. So, I stopped in because I saw the Ginger Latte advertised on their sign. I was expecting one of those syrupy gingerbread coffees. The ones that are usually way too sweet. Not this one. I was blown away by it. It's a true spiced ginger latte. It even had a little kick to it. It was definitely not a syrup. The funny part is that I didn't even miss the sugar. I didn't have to add anything to it. It tasted great just the way it was. I can definitely see why this place is popular. They do have some very unique coffee preparations. They also have delicious cookies. These are not your ordinary cookies. They are packed with all kinds of goodness. These cookies have some weight to them as well. I ended up getting 2 cookies. I knew what I was getting with the chocolate chip because I had it once before. It's packed with chunks of chocolate. I also decided to get the oatmeal cookie. I'm so glad I did. I ate it on the way home so I didn't get to take a picture of it. It was seriously the best oatmeal cookie I've ever had. I think they may have added a little ginger to that cookie. It was delicious! I'm kicking myself for not trying the croissants. They had a plain and a multi-grain croissant that looked so good. They also had a couple of quiches. I love a good quiche.
