Very unprofessionally made hookah. I smoke a lot of hookah and I know when I am served bad quality hookah. First of all, they used self lighting charcoal tablets on my hookah. But I saw other customers being served normal coal. Service was slow and inattentive. When asked to change coal, they initially refused, saying that the tobacco is no longer good. I was at Cairo last night and there were multiple parties complaining about one group that were using racial slurs and making others uncomfortable and unable to enjoy theirselves in this establishment. I love Cairo REGULARLY but last night was an eye opener and I won't come back or recommend this establishment to anyone because of the way things were "handled". Following this thread of comments about it just coo-berates Ashley L.'s story there are slurs being used and support for it I won't tolerate. It also is funny how people can be so brave behind their fingers typing but are very quiet when it's in the moment; let's not be internet thugs. read more

The only reason they're getting 2 stars is because they used to be really good before, they would have great hookah, were reasonably priced, and had a great DJ who would play good dancing music. Second they NEVER rip you off with the hookah, the flavor lasts literally forever. I'm only coming back during their happy hour time to smoke never again at night. They used to have great DJ who'd play good music, and the ambiance would just be fun party like. But now they've added a cover charge and on top have made it mandatory to get hookah as well, even after paying the charge, which in my opinion is a big rip off. I love the staff that works there, the manager can some times be rude on the serving customers and getting their requests as well. read more

Horrible service. Walked in the place the owner walked up to us and asked to smell my water bottle asking if it's "alcohol". Every single 4 seconds he kept walking up to my party and I asking if we were ready to order. Finally we got up without ordering and left. Very cool and laid back spot. The owner was nice and came and said hello. Very attentive staff. I went on a late Sunday night, and though it wasn't crowded, it was still a hot spot for 10:30 on a Sunday. I had the one night stand with and ice hose and it had a great flavor. The owner is always go wonderful! He always greets me and my friends at the door and walks us to the best available spot. We came in on a busy Friday night, not a single spot available.. And he walked us to the private room, asked a group of guys to consolidate to a single couch so that we could have a place to sit. He always comes by to check on us.. And even moved us out to the public area when we wanted to people watch.. (: Great energy here. Mixes are great (I recommend watermelon mint-tastes like bubble gum). BYOB is an added bonus, so we can bring whatever we are in the mood for, and if you make friends with others-they might just give you a few shots of their 1800. (; The room isn't smokey at all because they gave an awesome vent system and the music is great too! Sat night he had 2 DJs - one for rap/techno/pop and another to mix Arabic beats. Couches are ...worn in and...cozy. Very chill. No need to dress up but you don't want to look out of place either. Lots of college students come here. Haven't been to many hookah spots. I started going here, because I have a buddy that djs there on certain nights. The manager is always upbeat, and very quick on getting you situated. Music : very hip. Mixture if hip hop and pop. Some house music. Music videos play on a big flat screen in the front. The couches are very comfy, and the venue is always clean. Coals are changed routinely throughout the night. And the best part it's BYOB! Warning: Service can be a little slow at times when trying to close out, so just walk up to the bar top to get your bill. read more

Can't get enough of Cairo! Per my last review I see the couches were replaced and a little part of me convinced myself it was because of my review lol. This time I brought more friends and tried the food and when I say I will happily uber or drive or ride or take a plane to get their chicken wings and fries...I MEAN IT!!! They are sooooo good. They were fresh and juicy! Their were a lot of good renovations since I visited last time! The chiller on the pipe was so cold and stayed cold for surprisingly over an hour! The music was a good mix and it is still a great place to just relax. The only reason I am giving Cairo 4 stars is because getting my coals changed or shifted kept taking extremely long. But when I finally complained to the owner he handled it promptly. I plan to bring everyone I know to Cairo! read more

Came here with a friend and as soon as we walked in we were charged to enter. $10 per person which is odd since we didn't have liquor. We sat down and were instantly helped and the hookah came fast. My first time here and my second hookah experience. Decided to meet up with a few friends here. This place is very chill. I tried the guava, watermelon and some other mint flavor and I'd have to say the watermelon was the best of all three. I didn't stay long because it was getting very hot and humid and smokey..surprise, surprise! So we decided to leave. The workers there are very friendly and came by to check on us a couple of times. They offer food and I think it's BYOB so that should be a plus for some people. Hookah just isn't my thing so i probably won't return..it actually made me lightheaded but I'm guessing that's normal. Very nice chill place to go smoke, lay back, and have a good time. This was my second visit here. The only thing that sucked this time was we got skipped for someone who knew somebody. So we had to sit at the bar for a while but he came back n got us a good section. Servers are always helpful n all over the place. Food was just ok. Let's just say this BYOB mean "Bring Your Own Bucks" because they will nickel and dime you. My friend and I tried this location because they were the only hookah bar open on Christmas Eve and it will definitely be our last. Music: What's that? We were there over 3 hours and never heard any music. Service: Prompt and very attentive (there were only 10 people in the entire place) Pricing: We get our tab and notice a $3 each byob fee, $5 ice fee, $5 fee to use beer opener, $8 service fee. That's an extra $24 on the tab before you add in a tip. We told our waiter that the menu doesn't state any additional charge, but the $3 boyb, so what's with all the hidden fees. He then stated he apologies and would see about taking off the ice and beer opener fee, then brings us back the same ticket/same price and ask if we'd like a refill. No thank you, we're headed to uptown. All we could do was laugh at ourselves for getting hustled.This place is a rip-off. They have a detailed price menu of a full variety of options for hookah and finger food. The also have a detailed list of things to do and not to do: 1.Do not Smoke if you stand up and get lightheaded. 2 Do not Smoke if you are pregnant. 3. Do not Smoke if you have donated plasma or blood. 4.Do not Smoke if you use other drugs and etc (the list is long) BUT THEY AREN'T AS DETAILED ON THE HIDDEN FEES. The bouncer/security guard was real nice and made sure the women were safe as well. Hookahs were good and we stayed almost 4 hours and smoked one hookah the entire time with no issues.
