We tried a variety of things including two types of oysters, but I have to say this is my favorite fish and chips in the area. For the cost you get SO much (3 large pieces) of fish, fries and a few hush puppies. And it was nice and fluffy, so so good. Definitely my new favorite go-to place in Frisco for seafood. I feel this place doesn't get enough love! Look forward to going back!

Stopped into Anaya's Seafood Scratch Kitchen in Frisco on a Tuesday around 2. It was pretty quiet…read morewith only a few people there. We started with half a dozen raw oysters and they were fresh and delicious! We also ordered a dozen grilled oysters. They were okay, but nothing spectacular and probably not something we would order again. Hubby ordered the fish special that was on the board that day. I can't remember exactly which fish it was, but he said it was just okay. I ordered the snow crab with Cajun butter and unfortunately this was the biggest disappointment. The crab meat was extremely mushy and the texture was just not good at all. I tried several different legs from the cluster just to make sure it wasn't only one bad piece, but they were all the same, so I couldn't finish it. The corn that came with it also tasted old and had a strange sour taste, so I didn't eat that either. The Dragon Fruit Pineapple Mojito, however, was DELICIOUS! Definitely one of the highlights of the meal and I would absolutely order that again. One thing that was a little strange was the timing. Considering how slow it was when we were there, the food seemed to take a little longer than expected to come out, and my drinks took even longer. Overall, it was a mixed experience for us. The raw oysters and mojito were great, the grilled oysters and fish special were just okay, and unfortunately the snow crab entrée was a definite miss. I'm willing to give Anaya's another try and order something completely different if we happen to be in the area, but based on this visit, I wouldn't make a special trip back just to eat here.

The lobster tail was a bit tough and overcooked, which is a waste. Mussels were good too. Garlic noodles were not our favorite. Corn and potatoes are good, but they're a bit stingy about it only giving you one of each. When your seafood boil is $70+, you should get more than one of each. The flavors linger in your mouth for a bit. It lingered for almost 2 days for me, but would definitely return!

Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. Better communication would have made this a much better overall experience.I'd rate it 2.5 out of 5 stars. Great food, but the service and communication issues took away from the experience.

Ever been hangry but can't figure out what to stuff in your belly? That's me tonight on a Tuesday…read more I ended up here and, honestly, I don't know that I'd go back. I got a small gumbo and catfish nuggets at 6.99 each. Even though they have a sign on the door for drink specials, apparently they didn't last more than like two months because they aren't offering that anymore. So I just asked for a water cup. 15.12 and you order at the counter and get your own drink. The water button on the soda machine sticks, so prepare for it to run for like a full 45 seconds before it magically unsticks. Gumbo came out in about ten minutes, but weirdly wasn't hot. Catfish nuggets came out about ten minutes after that (weird since they are both apps) and I asked for my soup to be reheated. I tried a nugget and it was ok, but there's like zero seasoning on them. Bland as my last tinder date people. For a place that touts New Orleans in the name, there's no creole/cajun influence here. Everything was just bland, especially the gumbo. By the way, he took it to reheat and by the time he returned it (14 min later) I needed to leave. He was nice enough to give me a lid and bag though. Service was ok, but there's like one guy and when he disappeared it was for ten minutes. I don't know if he was having to cook it or what but it made service slow. I've visited three times now and feel a three is appropriate. It's fine if you aren't looking for what the name implies.

There is ample space between tables so you don't feel cramped. There are TVs on the walls but it does not feel like a typical sports bar. The vibe is upscale and the restaurant was very clean. We started with the homemade biscuits and they were excellent. The proceeds go to charity so placing this order was no-brainer. The biscuits were light and airy, not dense at all. The jam and butter were the perfect accompaniment. Those biscuits are winners! Everyone should order and help the charity. I had the spicy chicken and waffles and it was excellent. The chicken was indeed spicy but the honey helped cool me off. The chicken was tender, the waffle was light but could have been hotter. If you order this dish, you will need a glass or two of cold ice water! The wife had shakshura and loved it. She got some toast on the side for dipping. The grits on the bottom were perfectly cooked. Her only complaint was the egg was supposed to be runny and it was firm. The kid had sweet potato pancakes but ended up filling up on the biscuits. Overall, food was 5 star and really enjoyable. The prices are very reasonable. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that our server, who was pleasant enough, was not very efficient. I am not sure what the problem was but her head was in the clouds. We would ask for something, she would say ok, and then she would disappear and forget to bring what we asked for. This happened more than once, more than twice, and maybe three times. It became a running joke at our table, what would the waitress forget this time? Other than spotty service, we liked this restaurant very much and we definitely would return if we are the Star District again.

WHAT A FIND!! Loved…read morethis place. We went on a Sunday night (almost at 9:30 PM), so we were not expecting anyone to be here, but the place was 60-70% full. Ambiance is perfect with K-Pop playing in the background. Lets talk about the main thing here - FOOD. We got the Kimchi Chicken Fries (KCF) and the 10 pc wings with Seoul Hot and BBQ Soy Garlic. Ok, KCF was AWESOME. My wife is not always a big Kimchi fan and I had to fight her on these pieces :D We basically almost were gonna lick the paper if there was no one around, so if you do go here, absolutely get this one. Next we got the 10 PC wings. These have to be some of the best fried chicken I have had in DFW area. Seoul Hot is an amazing flavor. Not spicy but just a nice sweet heat that feels amazing. BBQ Soy Garlic was great too, but next time we are getting 20 of just the Seoul Hot haha. We also got drinks - Wife got the highball which had a decent punch and I got the yogurt Soju which made sure that I was zoom zoom zoom-ed by the end (we were super tired that day too so it felt just good and right).

We decided to make things interesting and asked the waiter to bring us the spiciest dish on the menu just for fun. They brought out the spicy fried chicken wings, which I believe the waiter said were a level 5. They were VERY spicy, but surprisingly still tasty! I would not recommend trying unless you can truly handle extreme spice. I'd definitely come back.
