EXCELLENT FOOD, easy location & parking. Really nice decor on the inside. Definitely Cajun vibe. BUT THE FOOD Y'all is delicious!!!!! Service was great... there was a bit of a wait to get our food but it was fresh, and hit so it was well worth the wait. We will absolutely be back

This is honestly some of the best cajun food I have had in Texas. The service is excellent and the staff is very warm and friendly. We ordered the Korean and Tennessee hot wings and the Cajun Trio. I would probably pass on the wings next time because I don't usually enjoy ones with a lot of breading but it was nice to give them a try and they count the WHOLE wing as ONE WING.....You gotta love that. Not trying to count a flap and a drummie as two wings! I wanted to comment mainly on the absolutely outstanding quality of the items in the Cajun Trio (Gumbo, Etoufee, Red Beans & Rice) and the sides of loaded mashed potatoes and the most excellent and piping hot fried okra!!!! Wowowowowowwwww....in my best Christopher Walken voice! I would definitely go back for more items on the menu! The restaurant was immaculately clean and had very well curated decor inside and out. The patio was lovely and I will be that is a pretty popular place when the weather is nice. They have houseplants everywhere and the atmosphere is terrific!

3.5 stars* Lets start with the food: I ordered the sausage po boy and my partner ordered the fried chicken dish. My po boy was a 6.5/10 overall; I liked the bread and the freshness of the veggies but I think the sausage could have been elevated flavor wise. The fried chicken was really tasty and juicy! The sides on the dish weren't anything to cry home about but overall both mains were good. The star of the show was the chocolate bread pudding. Came out warm and delicious and delightfully sweet. The only thing that could've made it better would be some ice cream. Lastly the service and environment: when we first came in the restaurant was completely empty. We weren't greeted immediately but the service wasn't bad. I liked the outdoor seating and overall vibes but there was an interesting smell inside the building portion. Overall a good first experience :)

Service was fantastic and the food was THE BEST! Genuinely, everything we had was delicious and homemade! The chicken tenders were so tender and flavored wonderfully with a light batter. The hush puppies were awesome! Red beans & rice delicious and huge portion along with the Jambalya! Everything was delicious and the restaurant was very clean and well decorated. We went on a Tuesday at 3pm, so not many people there...but I bet it's packed at lunch & dinner time! Highly recommend!!

Came into town for an event and looked up something close for lunch. This place was a winner all around! Beautiful interior, service and staff were so friendly. The food was incredible! Son gave the chicken tenders a 12 out of 10. My shrimp po boy was so fresh and the bread was so soft. Next trip to Waco we will definitely be back. There was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. If you're in Waco, Cajun Craft is definitely worth a stop. Laid-back spot with bold Cajun flavors that hit. The fried oyster po'boy was loaded--crispy oyster, good seasoning, chunky lettuce and tomato and that sauce tied it all together. The fries had a nice Cajun kick. Only knock I have was bread was I wish bread was little softer, kind of falling apart on me while I ate it. 4.5/5 The gator bites with two dipping sauces were crispy and packed with flavor. 5/5 Portions are solid too.

Needed a light bite but we are not fast food people, so we had Cajun Craft on our list so why not try it? We did and LOVED IT! We got the seafood platter without oysters. We had an extra piece of fish. Now I'm picky about my fried fish, so I let my husband eat that and I eat the shrimp unless I know it's good. Well, we were fighting over this fish! It's seasoned well and fried just right! The shrimp was tasty too. We had to get up and get a to go order to take. Home to the rest of the family to try! We took fried ribs and gumbo for the family. So good! It's a cute little restaurant and the restroom is on the other side of the building. It looks like it's family owned and they are really nice. No complaints about the service. FYI, they are cashless so make sure to bring a card and your appetite!

Celebrating Mom's birthday, she had first chosen another catfish establishment in China Springs, something like Family FishBait, but they had decided to close up early with a silly unprofessional note on the door. Well, no matter. Mom wanted good fried catfish for her birthday and that lead us to Cajun Craft. Parking lot is very small, but we were able to park. Once inside, we stepped up to the counter to order. Staff was nice and very helpful. Soda machine, Iced Tea, and Topo Chico. We found a place to sit while our food was made fresh. Fried Catfish and Crawfish. Hush puppies. Red Beans and Rice. All. Excellent! We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back.

We came based on the Yelp recommendation. This looked like a local place, not touristy. Very laid back vibe. Service was excellent. We were well taken care of during our entire visit. The etouffee sauce was delicious. The fried crawfish was just okay, and the rice gummy, but that sauce was so good. The stars were definitely the bread pudding and the beignets. I would order that every day and be so happy. Is it worth going back? Definitely. I'd like to try the gumbo and some other menu items. And order dessert. Next time, I may not share with my fellow diners. They can get their own.

Location: It is located in downtown Waco just minutes away from the Silo district. Parking: They do have free parking with less than 10 parking spaces in their lot. Food: We ordered the shrimp po boy and the seafood platter and it included fried catfish, shrimp and oysters. Price: The fried seafood platter cost $19.99 and the shrimp po boy cost $14.99. Soft drinks cost $3 and they'll give you cups for water. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. You will order first and then they'll deliver the food to your table. Overall food was good and restaurant is nice. We walked it from the Silos district and it seemed a lil sketchy walking there but we were fine and got to the restaurant safely.

Took a long weekend trip to Waco with my family and wanted to try a new restaurant that I can't try in Dallas. Cajun craft had good reviews so decided to try it out. Sunday afternoon around 1:00 pulled up to a spot that wasn't fancy but kind of gave that hole in the wall feel. The parking lot was full so that was a good sign. Once inside the menu is on the wall and there are smaller menus to check out. You can order and then take your number to any seat you want. I ordered the Cajun tenders with Cajun fries and a roll. It's not much seating at the front but once you go through a doorway there is more seating plus I could see outside there was tables with heaters as well. It didn't take long for the food to come out fresh and hot. The tenders were good and the seasoning gave it just the right amount of kick. What took it up a niche for me was the customer service. We were checked on a lot making sure everything we ordered was to our liking. The gentleman helping us even gave my son two small little race cars. If you want good food but especially if you want good customer service this is the place to go

The place is super cute, there is indoor and outdoor seating available. The service was very kind and hospitable. The food is visually pleasing but disappointing flavor-wise. The Korean chili wings were the most flavorful thing we tried -- they had a nice crispness, but without the sauce, they were bland. The fries were not good, and I also got a side of mac and cheese that I only took one bite of. Don't even get me started on the roll. For $18 a plate, it felt like a let down. My friend ordered the Cajun tenders and okra. They were also unimpressed with the quality and lack of flavor. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but it's probably not somewhere I'd make an effort to come back to.

My family and I just had lunch here at Cajun Craft (formally known as Crispy Chicken). It is AMAZING!! New owners but same cook with new items added to the menu. We tried the boudin balls as an appetizer. They were phenomenal. My kids had the chicken strips, my husband had the fried chicken and I had the catfish poboy (mine was the best!). The French fries were seasoned perfectly with a homemade seasoning and the kids said their rolls were so fresh and delicious. Great prices and friendly staff! It is only a couple of blocks from the Silos owned by Chip and Joanna Gaines. Come grab a bite on the way in or the way out. You won't regret it!! read more

Excellent! I'm not sure how to compare it to Louisiana Cajun food but the catfish was great. There were two huge pieces of catfish with mild seasoning. I hope to go again; just make sure you don't mind waiting 15 minutes + for your meal. read more

I've been to NOLA 2x. This is better than anything I had there! Seriously people. It's all the amazing flavor without that crazy overwhelming sodium flavor/sitch. I'm new to town and couldn't decide so the super nice guy working helped me decided on the Catfish Atchafalaya and a fried chicken breast so I could try best of both worlds.. the chicken was Aamazing! Not greasy, all of it was phenomenal. Keep in mind I was that jerk ordering 10min before they closed and yet the service and food was 10's across the board. I'll definitely be back :) read more

We drove through Waco with the intent of getting a quick bite. We found this recommended place and as we approached, we thought it might be a bad idea. Looks a little run down from the outside. I got upset when I went there because I couldn't find a place to park, I was about to leave until I stopped and asked myself. As a born-houstonian, I know good Viet-Cajun. This is the real deal. Etouffé, jambalaya, gumbo, phó, all spot on. Oh and the beignets with the whiskey sauce...addicting. I'll be back for the fried chicken. Just wish they had beer!! Will bring our own next time. Local, small & done right. This is exactly the kind of food concept that thrives in Waco. They get it. Everything we had was so very yummy... we ended up going 2 days in a row during our weekend in Waco. We had the po-boy, seafood platter, fried chicken, and boudin balls!! There are a lot of things I like about this place, let me start off with the staff, friendly and offer great descriptions and suggestions of the food. Decor, the seating is outside which on a day like today is very nice, they have wood style benches, there is also a covered with bar stool type seating, they have a nice array of string lights for the evening time. The interior has a lot of Louisiana Sykes decor as well. As far as food today I had the chicken and sausage jumbo which is served with white rice, the gumbo is a typical Louisiana style, it is a little spicy, but good, it's also served with saltine crackers. My wife had the fried pork steak, which came with mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and green beans, both were flavorful. The fried pork steak was cooked like a traditional chicken fried steak, it tasted great and was not overly crusted. For dessert we had the beignets which are similar to golf ball sides and have honey and powder sugar on them, they come in like a 6-8 count. Overall I liked the place and the food, next time I try something different on the menu read more

I went here after going to Magnolia market. I'm glad I did. The food was a little twist on Cajun, which was enjoyable. The gumbo was great, as well as the catfish Po boy. Was able to BYOB since they didn't have their TABC license yet. What was even better was the Nutella bread pudding. Other items I wanted to try on the menu was jambalaya and crawfish poutine. I can't wait until I am in Waco again to Cajun Craft again. read more

Phenomenal food and service. My husband and I were visiting Waco for the first time and stopped here for dinner. My husband had the Nashville Chicken, spicy and delicious. I had the seafood trio and the Jambalaya was incredible. Portion size was exceptional for the price. Ryan, the emplyoee, went above and beyond not only with us but the other customers as well. He gave us great recommendations for things to do in Waco. If you're visiting, I highly recommend going here for lunch or dinner. read more

BEST. PHO. IN. WACO. This needs to be a permanent menu item. The broth is fantastic and the portion is perfect. My husband got the Monday lunch special with potato salad and green beans. We are both leaving full and content. Only downside is it was cold and windy and the windows for the seating area were open. Other than that we will be back! read more

I am so glad I found this place. Wonderful, delicious po-boys and various other dishes. But, the reason I am raving about this place is they have Vietnamese Pho. I mean real, authentic, delicious hot Pho. I've been travelling to Austin Chinatown for Pho but I no longer need to. I could get it right here in Waco. So, on cold winter nights or if you have a cold/flu, don't settle for plain old chicken noodle soup, try hot Pho from this place. It will make you feel 100% better in no time. read more

Saw this place on Yelp and we gave it a try. You order at the counter and then find a seat in the main area which is small or go through the doors and find a seat in the bigger dining area. I had the Friday special which was 2 catfish and fries and hush puppies. It was very fresh and very hot right out the fryer. Good flavor with a bit of spice. The fillets were a bit thick but not to big. 2 fillets may not seem like much but it was plenty. The fries had a bit of Cajun flavor on them which tasted good. My wife and daughter had the shrimp po boy. The po boy was a bit different than a traditional NOLA po boy. By that I mean it came on a baguette like roll and had onions and remoulade type sauce on it. Overall the food was fresh and good. I was pleasantly surprised. Wow. This was quite a find. CC is a small restaurant with 3 dining rooms - casual and homey. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and particularly helpful. The food is wonderful. We tried the crab jalapeño poppers, boudin link, crawfish étouffe, fried catfish, gumbo, beignets and bread pudding. ALL was really good. We will definitely be back! read more

Cajun Craft taking over the Krispy Chicken shack is probably the best thing to happen in this side of town! This is a better make-over than C&J did on those silos down the street. The fried seafood here is fantastic -- crispy, well-battered, seasoned, and fried to perfection. The Cajun Corn is spicy and cheesy. The full outdoor and indoor/outdoor patio is really nice and shaded. The only problem here is that once you find something you like, it is hard to try new things since you know how delicious what you had before was. I know people who come here for the chicken and only the chicken. I come here for the seafood and only the seafood. It is just SO good that I can't imagine coming here for anything else, and I'm sure the chicken fans feel the same way. The owners are active on social media and are very responsive to questions and feedback, and the employees seem to enjoy working here (or at least the food tastes like they enjoy it). No apology for forgetting us. No effort to seat us. No attempt to make things right. We were simply left sitting on the rooftop until the restaurant closed. I've worked in customer service long enough to understand mistakes happen. But forgetting a table for over an hour and then essentially shrugging your shoulders when they ask what's going on is unacceptable. What should have been a magical final evening of an incredible trip turned into us scrambling to find food elsewhere on our last night in Texas. The rooftop view was nice. I got the chicken tender basket...comes with so much chicken I couldn't even finish it all, seasoned fries, a roll, AND an additional side of your choice...I got coleslaw (something I would never typically order...it was sweet and purple). It was all great, especially the fries. The chicken was perfect...thick and juicy with just the right amount of seasoned crispiness. My boyfriend got the catfish basket and loved it...I'm not a fan of catfish but this I would actually eat. To top it off, we tried the homemade bread pudding......heaven in my mouth. I am writing to express my disappointment with the Cajun Corn I recently ordered. Unfortunately, the quality of the dish did not meet my expectations. The corn was poorly presented, with several kernels visibly burnt, giving it an unappetizing appearance. It was clear that the corn had not been properly cleaned, as there were remnants of husk and silk still attached. The overall dish looked rushed and unappealing, with charred spots overpowering the intended flavor. I have enjoyed items from your menu in the past, but this particular dish fell short.
